Snake eyes: she has an unfortunate habit of being able to fascinate and bewitch people with eye contact, even when she isn't paying attention. An elementry power of her race and dangerous in battle. (Mastered)
Speaking tongues: any spoken language, with a few minutes listening, can be understood. A few more minutes and she can speak it. (Exceptional)
Slough: minor physical damage and things like burns and offensive magics can be shrugged off with a layer of skin. This ability is stronger on her lower half and is more useful as an after conflict recovery. (Good)
Sense: Anything that vibrates, touches the ground or relies on magic can be quite easily detected, if the cause isn't trying to hide itself and the user is paying attention. (average)
Constrict: Looping her lower half around an individual and tightening, slowly cutting off air and blood flow. However she's a young female, not terribly effective in a serious fight. (below average)
Heal: Uses magic to fix wounds. Small wounds are gone in a blink with about as much effort. However serious and life threatening injuries take much longer and more concentration, to use in battle the caster needs to be in a support capacity only to allow the focus. (good)
Lightning: What it says on the tin. Ability to seperate charge and spontaneously generate lightning, as well as control the lightning once it is generated. At this point she can only through relatively weak charges and needs it to have an origin and destination. No lightning balls yet. (below average)
Hydrokinesis: Control over the motion and properties of water (below average)

Weaknesses: Most naga are heavily water based and often amphibious. Quetzal is vulnerable to dehydration. Requires three square meals a day as her stomach is located in her human torso. Is sensitive to constant or strong vibrations like construction sites and obnoxious smells.

Signature ability: Snake eyes. She does it so often she's got a reputation for it despite being at the school for a relatively short period of time.

Race characteristics: Quetzal is from an amazonian breed of naga, a bronze skinned, handsome young lady with refined features from the hips up and python from the waist down. Her body is quite powerful although her fangs are relatively small and discreet and she lacks any sort of venom. Being a royal naga, Quetzal has feathers growing among the hair on her scalp from just above her ears. She lets most people think they're just decoration, as the feathers on her elbows are. What people don't know is that under the hair and the leather armbands she wears, the feathers shift into down and emerge from her skin. Once she is old enough she'll have full fledged wings, but for now it's not a fact she wants well known. Skin is patterned strongly on the lower body, and from the torso upwards becomes a discreet shifting of light. Eyes are slit pupiled, the nose is relatively flat but not uncannily so.

Personality: Quetzal is actively curious, though not pushy. She's friendly enough, but doesn't have too much of a concept of close friends given her childhood. She's queitly puzzled by nearly everything about Avolair, including why there must be so many stairs. She is even keeled and even when provoked, will not lose her temper in a blaze but instead smoulders.

Biography: Quetzal is a younger daughter of a royal family and thus relatively disposable. Although her older brother and sister have since been paired and her sister is expecting while her brother and his wife are preparing to take over rule from her parents, Quetzal has instead chosen to go abroad as a method for gaining more knowledge about the world beyond theirs. As a child, Quetzal divided the world into three categories, Family, Servants, Subjects. Now, a fourth category of Other has been introduced and she's not entirely sure what to do with them. The invitation was actually to her brother as eldest child and he didn't take up the offer, so Quetzal has come in his stead. Having a safe and happy childhood, Quetzal has grown into a remarkably content young person, but has since become more troubled, partially with the reaction she's gained from being among those who should know better.

Appearance: Quetzal has a colour scheme easily referred to as bronze. Her mottle bronze patterned tail is vaguely metallic and her skin has a faint sheen under its rich brown tone when she basks. Her hair is a mix of black and dark brown, setting her bright yellow eyes at a sharp contrast in her face. She's understood that it is taboo to go about partially clothed and so wears a number of vest like tops in irridescent fabrics, many of which fasten over her shoulders or are strapless. She wears tooled leather armbands just above her elbows, and has her earlobes peirced with small polished wooden earings in them. She also has facial tattoos, a sort of permanent eye shadow from a point down her nose, sweeping up to encompass her eyes before flicking out like Amy Winehouse's khol's overweight cousin. Her face is even with gently pointed chin and smooth fine eyebrows. Her ears are rather small and close to her head. Her feathers, currently only present on her elbows and above her ears, are a brilliant purple and green and blue, shimmering and irridescent. Suprisingly, Quetzal's scales are smooth and soft, feeling more like a good quality handbag than something cold and slimy. She has a biforcated tongue and claws which she keeps neatly trimmed so that she can manage things like buttons and pencils.
