Description

A massive man thick with muscle Wulfgar towers over Romans like a frost giant over the Gods. He has icy blue eyes that chill like a cold northern wind. His long, golden hair is braided in some places and an unruly mass in others. Rarely seen without some form of armament or weapon this Saxon chieftain is always thirsting for a fight. Wulfgar is currently 30 years old.

Personality

Wulfgar is the truest of barbarians who hungers for blood, glory, wealth and power. He leads his men accordingly and has built a massive horde of bloodthirsty raiders whose numbers make the ground tremble when they march. Valuing strength in battle above nearly all else he is a hard man to interact with for any non barbarian. Romans see him as crude, savage and wild, almost little more than a beast. While this is all true Wulfgar also possesses a keen military and strategic mind. What he lacks in diplomatic talents he more than makes up for in savagery. His view on religion is a herald of his ancestors, worshipping the Norse Gods of his Ancestors instead of the Saxon equivalent most of his people do. He sees Rome as loot prime for the plundering and is ready to make Rome tremble before his army.

Equipment

Wulfgar is equipped in much the same way his men are. Known to a carry a large wooden round shield, broad sword, battle axe, spear and usually a dagger. Rarely does he carry all of these, tending to instead carry one or two main weapon and a shield but some form of dagger is usually on him to be used more as a tool than a weapon.

History

Wulfgar is the son of Thorin, baptized in the blood of his enemies the battlefield was his nursery, war drums were his lullabies. He was hardened in the fires of war and tempered fighting, oddly enough, many of the Romans enemies for them. Like many barbarian tribes at the time the Saxons were hired and trained by the Romans to fight off other barbarians for them. As a result Wulfgar is highly trained by Roman standards as well as the lifetime of martial training he received from his Saxon people. After Thorin died several winters ago from an arrow to the throat Wulfgar sought to take a different approach to the Romans in the south. Seeing their vast wealth during his time fighting beside them he knows what riches can be achieved in Rome and hungers for it. As a Saxon version of a King he has since participated in the ancient ritual of casting lots for power and has won himself command of the other Saxon tribes for this mighty conquest into Rome.
