Physical Description
Charlotte is an average girl as far as weight, height, and first appearances are concerned. Underneath her clothes are numerous bruises and healing cuts from the abusive relationship that she had before the memory wipe and disappearance of the townsfolk. She doesn't remember everything right away, but it gradually comes to her in nightmares and horrific flashbacks she'd rather not have at all. She tries to play it cool with everyone, but her excuses become more and more paper thin and she's not sure she's ready to come to terms with whatever life she had before and why it left her with so many bruises and scars that went deeper than just her skin.
"I'm not sure I want to be who I was before this."
- ☣ Un-noticeable || Charlotte lives her life under the radar and despises being the center of attention. She can go virtually invisible in a crowd and sometimes even in a small group of people.
☣ Advice || Despite never taking her own, she always used to be the crutch and strong shoulder friends and loved ones turned to in times of trouble. Charlotte always had encouraging words and a plan of action, no matter how familiar she was with the situation.
☣ Hiding || Charlie got very good at hiding in a moments notice from her childhood and into her older years. If there's a situation that calls for hiding, she'll be out of sight before others even begin looking around for a place to go.
Talent
- ☢ Writing || Before the blankness, Charlotte was an avid writer and could always be found working on a story in some form or another. Her books were her life, her escape from the reality she couldn't seem to get away from.
☢ Packing || Splat's always been an expert at packing as much as possible into whatever space she has available.
☢ Climbing || Her family used to have a forest on their land and she often snuck away to trek up the trees as far as she could manage and only sometimes got hurt.
"I've always been the invisible one, and I like it that way."
Likes
- ❤ Wandering through the trees || It's like teleporting to a different world.
❤ Being alone || I crave my alone time.
❤ Thunderstorms || The storm is outside of me for once.
Dislikes
- ✘ Being touched || It makes me remember...and that's the last thing I want.
✘ Darkness || I feel like the darker it is, the less oxygen and room there is for me.
✘ Screaming || It's hell on earth to hear.
Strengths
- ✔ Flying under the radar || Because of her past, Charlotte can easily just go with the flow unnoticed and overlooked, and she works best with hardly any attention on her.
✔ Holding Back || She's always had to bottle in her feelings and thoughts and it's both a strength and weakness for her. She can hold everything in for as long as it takes and deal with it later or push it off entirely.
✔ Compassion || Char has a big heart and will help anyone who comes to her, whether it's to talk or more.
Flaws
- ☠ Victim Complex|| As she remembers more, her memories give her the sense of it all being her fault and it was somehow avoidable. She struggles with the thought of what happened and that it was really her abuser's fault.
☠ Doormat || Charlotte lets everyone walk all over her and take advantage of her because she's learned standing up for herself comes at a price she'd rather not pay.
☠ Introvert || Her forced introversion growing up and up before the incident makes it very hard for her to get close to and open up to people.
Habits
- ❖ Fidgetting || In conversation and whenever her hands are idle, Charlotte toys with the edges of her clothes or whatever nearby item is around.
❖ Watching ground when she walks || Charlotte has always looked at her feet or the ground wherever she goes, avoiding eye contact and altercation as much as possible.
❖ Biting her lip || Charlotte is a very anxious, shy individual and frequently bites and chews on her lip.
"I don't exactly make friends right away."
Personality
Charlotte is a very timid, internal person because of her past. She's very loving and compassionate, but most do not know this until they get to know her or if they catch her in a tender moment. She tries her absolute hardest to avoid conflict and getting in the way of others, and constantly strives to be as far away as possible from the center of attention. Charlotte takes solace in her writing and in forested areas, but secretly longs for close friendships, though she lacks the initiative to make them.
"I want to be close to people, it's just hard for me."
Charlotte grew up in a well-off home with her parents and four siblings. When she was too young to remember, her mother died and their father took it very badly. He became abusive to all of his children and unfortunately all Charlotte really remembers of her childhood is hiding from this abuse and doing whatever she could to please her father in hopes that he would be satisfied enough not to hurt her that day. When she started high school, he realized he needed to change when one of his episodes sent her and her older sister Madison into the hospital. The past year he's been trying to sober up and be more gentle and paternal with his children, but the damage has already been done.
Charlotte met Thomas a few months before the lightning struck city hall and fell head over heels for the smooth talking Senior. He quickly had her under his spell and not even two weeks after being together, started being verbally and physically abusive to her when she did not do or say what he wanted her to. Charlotte didn't tell anyone; she thought something was wrong with her and she simply needed to do better so that he wouldn't have any reason to hurt her with his words or fists. She'd hidden it well and it seemed to be working, but she was far from happy. All of her life, she lived in fear, striving to be whatever her father's idea of perfection was for her, and she never reached it.
Now she's been given a clean, memory less slate but she's sure it won't last long. As time passes, memories start coming back to her and she's once again slave to the abuse she's had throughout her life. She longs to break free from this life she's been plagued with, to be happy and in a healthy relationship, but it seems as easily attainable as a fairytale.
