Equipment/Skills

Weapon Class: Melee & Ranged
Weapon (Primary): A relatively short hardened steel bolo machete. It's cutting power is improved via vibrations as a result of Samuel's latent electrical powers.
Weapon (Secondary): A 6-shot pepperbox revolver fitted with a wheellock system

Elemental Strength/Resistances: Electrical (Strength and weakness). Note: Samuel's electrical magic is not of the same learned type used by most mages, but a sort of 'technomagic' whereby devices augment the user's magical skill. This doesn't tend to take energy from the user, but the tools that create the magic (Making it safer). This also means that (light) magic can be within the grasp of none magic users. The downside of technomagic is that it is not nearly as controllable or as strong. Samuel's AlphaSkeleton grants him the ability to perform 'everyday magic' while his OmegaSkeleton can scale it up a considerable amount, letting him perform significant acts with ease. The downside to this is that he must lug a massive exoskeleton around if he wants to perform skilled magic, and that the suit doesn't necessarily protect the user from the magic they are using.

Supporting Magic Skill: Sabotage

Personality

Samuel is generally a kind and warming man, even if he acts a little older than he should. He also tends to be a snob, and while he doesn't really dislike the poorer classes, his upbringing gives him a sort of unconcious inflection against them. This personality fits in well with his proffession as a university professor. Despite the fact that he tends to be the man to give lectures, he prefers to work alone or with a small group of friends on a problem, and can quickly become absorbed in it.

His nature isn't all black and white, though, and he has a hidden love for action as a consequence of his time with the military. As such, he built the OmegaSkeleton with additional features perfect for combat use - even if he doesn't tell anyone that. He is happy at the university, but he often gets the small but not insignificant urge for adventure.

Likes: Teaching, learning, building, enhancing. While he was a part of the 4th Engineering Battalion to fight, he always prefered construction and development. This lead him to building his exoskeletons as well as becoming one of the forerunners of technomagic.
Dislikes: People calling him a snob. Rejectionists of both technomagic and artificial limbs. Large volumes of water when not directly under his control (For fear of shorting out and rust)

Loves: Technomagic, electricity and technology
Fears: Misuse of his discoveries. Loss of function of his exoskeletons when far from help.

Quirks: Aside from the whole quadruple amputee thing, he has a tendency to let his mind wander to technical aspects of things in the vicinity. He tends to feature a minor superiority complex. He also involunteroly scratches his mechanical limbs at times.

Motivation: To further the development of technology.

Trademark features: His exoskeletons

Catchphrases: "Yes, quite", "It's actually quite simple" and "Oh dear"

History

Samuel has always lived in sky cities, cities designed around the use of airships, some of which tend to feature entire areas born aloft by great balloons. It's these cities which have become the technological central of Anima, and it's what fueled his love of technology.

He joined the 4th Engineering Battalion to assist the people he loved with their broken machines, and with what the military was supplied with, he was never out of work. During down time, he often experimented, helping build upon mechanical limb technology and, using recent developments in technomagic, empowered augmentations to a persons existing potential. Samuel always focussed more on the electrical side of things, believing electricity would become the future.

Fast becoming chief engineer of the 4th Engineers, Samuel finally begun to get recognised in his 30s with some of his developments now being used in the war machines including such things as the lightning cannon and the light exoskeleton. Samuel was 36 when, during a skirmish against a group of rouge mages, he was hit with a highly explosive magic fire bomb. The impact was intense and almost disintegrated him, shearing off his limbs and causing significant damage to his torso. Luckily, his fellow troops managed to refit him with artificial clockwork organs that he himself had developed. After that, Samuel left the army to teach his developments to the masses, leading him to become a lecturer at a university in his home sky city.

As he taught, he simultaneously developed a personal set of exoskeletons, the AlphaSkeleton, TauSkeleton and OmegaSkeleton, each for a different purpose. Despite his best efforts, though, the TauSkeleton, a winged contraption to enable him to fly, was destroyed in a fire at the university, leaving him with his AlphaSkeleton and OmegaSkeleton. Even so, he remains a one of many forerunners in technical development and the merging of magic and machine.
