Description

Description

{6 foot 2 inches} {220 lbs.} {blonde hair never long enough to reach his eyes} {eyes as blue as the azure sky, and calm as the untouched waters} Blue was trained by knights since an early age. Well toned and obviously fit, with rippling muscles all over his body. Not too much as to be overwhelming, but enough to take a second look and respect. You could tell within seconds of seeing him in action that he is both strong and fast. Blue holds true to his name, always wearing some article of clothing or otherwise that is bathed in that Azure blue color. With small, light scars over his body, which he is not ashamed of in the least. The 20 year old man has an aura of confidence about him which only comes with years of intense training. Trained never to show fear, but to embrace it and overcome the intensities of life.

Personality

Blue always holds his head held high, a look of confidence in his eyes, even when there is none to be had. As blue was raised a knight, He always seems to do what was right on reflex, helping wherever possible and sometimes even when not. Blue would give the shirt off his back if asked, strong and silent, unless something needs to be said, in which case you have never seen someone so compelling. If ever you needed someone to confide in Blue would be your rock. Blue has always gone above and beyond for the men and women he fought alongside. Whatever they needed, no matter how dangerous (or mundane) he would take the task, and prevail.

Equipment

Blue is rarely without sword in hand or on belt, His sword being a parting gift from his mentor, which taught blue everything the battle worn veteran knew. The sword was a gift from his mentor, but crafted by blue's own brother's expert hands. The sword is white and blue with a blade about three feet long, not counting the beautiful sapphire encrusted handle, four inches across and a blade that seemingly never dulls. A shield isn't necessary for blue to excel in combat, his agility speed and power more then make up for the lack of defense and he wouldn't have it any other way. That being said his armor is top of the line handed down through his family, light and strong. The armor is white steel, above a light chain mail which is covered by a blue cloak with the crest of his family. He wears white gauntlets and leggings, with blue trim. The armor comes with a helmet, also full white steel, but Blue never uses this because it constricts his vision.

History

Blue was born into a family of knights. Each of his siblings was a knight in their own rights, along with his father, the Paladin. Blue being the youngest child, he had three brothers, a sister and his father. He grew up without a mother, even though you would never know by the way he carries himself. Blue's father, a famous paladin and dragon hunter, known as Ridger Adavahr the dragon slayer. His father has been slaying dragons since blue was a boy. Blue never liked the idea of killing dragons, to him they were majestic, beautiful creatures which deserved respect and in some cases admiration. His two oldest brothers were twins known as the Vicious Adavahr brothers, they fought alongside each other in Duke Randals army, wining many battles with there brutish but effective style of fighting. His oldest brothers loved fighting with blunt weapons, mace and hammers, which, to blue were messy and under coordinated weapons. The middle brother is knight by name, but also a fine blacksmith, known throughout the land for his handiwork. Adam, the blacksmith was very kind to blue, often taking him in when the rest of the family were out on business. Adam often taught blue the tricks of blacksmithing, and was a great friend as well as a brother. His sister was a fine knight, known as Liara the dragon slayer. His sister has slain, by today's count 12 dragons with the help of her father and their band of knights and paladins. Liara excelled in the use of spears, always hitting her mark no matter how difficult the throw or thrust. Blue always felt in his family's shadow, even though he was a truly talented young man he never did seem to stand out in their eyes or in their company. Since the day he could stand he was trained in the art of combat, learning everything from his family. Using a spear, a bow and arrow, swords, maces, ect., he could use any weapon thanks to his years of training. Blue especially practiced his sword combat, to the extent of being the best in the family in a one on one fight if he was allowed to use a sword. Although he was best with the sword, you name a weapon and blue had been trained to use it almost expertly, all except for magic which held no honor in the eyes of the knights. Blue was always intrigued to learn magic but never found the opportunity to learn under the watchful eyes of his family and his mentor. One day blue went out on his own and learned the one ounce of magic he knows to this day, which he never shows for fear of disappointing his family. Blue can take a flame and adapt it to run along his blade, It turns a violent yet beautiful blue and will cut through anything when equipped. Blue has been through many trials in his life but has, for the last year had no real purpose. Until he receives a letter from a courier that will soon be the beginning of a momentous journey!

So begins...

An unexpected meeting
______________________________________________

*In Raven Form*
The wind grew cold as the night grew darker. Sarium had been flying through the night, for reasons he didn't even know. All he knew was that he was restless this night and he would honestly prefer some good company. Sarium scanned the dark earth beneath him, looking to see if there was any activity beneath him. Much to his disappointment, there was nothing.

'Maybe I shouldn't have pissed off those drunks at the tavern' Sarium thought to himself. 'They may have been idiots, but atleast they were entertaining'. Sarium tended to find himself getting into trouble alot. Mostly due to his mischievous personality.

Sarium's thoughts were only interrupted by the grumbling of his stomach. He had been flying for awhile and he did forget to eat dinner. Frustrated by his stomachs outburst, Sarium focused again on trying to find some sort of shelter or activity. It wasn't long until a dim light was visible not too far from where he was at now. Now excited, Sarium tilted his wings to adjust his course and began to glide down towards the light.

As Sarium got closer, he could see that the dim light was a small campfire. He could see multiple tents that had been setup and there was only one person that was awake and visable. 'Everyone here must have fallen asleep, perhaps that big bulky fellow could make for some entertainment'. Sarium smiled at the idea of confusing the armored man. 'or i could ask real nicely and maybe he will spare some food'. Sarium liked the second idea much better. His stomach was killing him at this point.

Sarium landed on a branch just on the rim of the small camp. He perched himself 10 yards away from the man. Sarium took a moment to observe the man, he appeared to be deep in thought. Sarium pushed off from the branch and landed no more than 6 feet away from the man. The man turned his gaze upon the bird with his hand already on his weapon. The two paused for a moment, finally, Sarium broke the silence. "So, you wouldn't happen to have any extra food would ya?"

Nasyrk was very understanding of Sarium's tiredness. "We'll have to continue this later then, Good night Sarium." He said not realizing Sarium had already fall asleep.

Nasyrk let out a big yawn as he looked to the stars. Estimating by the position of the moon there were still a few more hours til morning. Nasyrk could feel he was very tired and began to relax. He slowly started to doze off but kept trying to stay awake. I hope tomorrow is a nice easy day. He thought. He summoned what energy he could to walk over toward Blue and wake him up. Blue woke up and Nasyrk said, "Good morning can you take watch please?" as he falls over into sleep.

After cooking the food, Blue served everyone wooden plates. The group enthusiastically enjoyed the meal as well as the company. Blue and Kael had a few awkward conversations back-and-forth throughout the night , However they never breached the subject Blue wanted to discuss most . The knight resigned to wait until she was ready to bring it up . Blue noticed that Freya and Nasyrk were getting along famously so the group was, at least relatively working efficiently. The two of them reminded him of a certain dwarf and elf that him and Kael grouped with not too long ago. After everyone had their fill, one by one everyone began to go to sleep. Nasyrk had chosen to stay awake for first watch and for a while, Freya join him. Blue drifted off to sleep with the light sounds of their conversations. Once again while he slept he dreamt of the Dragon. He wondered if he would dream the same dream every time he closed his eyes. When Nasyrk woke Blue up to take over for him on Night watch Blue felt as if he had barely got any sleep. The knight wiped the tiredness out of his eyes and left his tent to head towards the fire. He quickly checked on all of the members of the party before he sat to stoke the fire. Blue noticed a bird sleeping on a stump across the way and wondered about the peculiar sight. He decided not to disturb the sleeping creature and looked up to the sky. He began going through the constellation's names and shapes in his head while he dutifully kept watch.

The first day on the road passed by quietly and awkwardly. Freya had been following the Paladin around like a puppy, and Blue had made a few attempts at small talk with Kael. They spoke mainly of the surrounding areas, what sort of enemies they would be likely to run into, and their current mission. Kael felt strange feelings mix uncomfortably at the miniscule conversations, and at Freya taking so well to ‘adventuring’. It was going to be difficult to convince the elf to go home.

Once they had made camp Blue went off to find food while Nasyrk made the fire. Freya amused herself by teasing the man on how long it took him to start a fire. Kael watched them interact with no comments. The rest of the night passed uneventfully. Freya continued making friends and Blue continued to chat with Kael about random things. It was…nice in a weird way. They weren’t in any danger and the food wasn’t anything to complain about. Even the Witches souls in her bag were quiet. It was almost torment, how quiet the night went. Kael knew it wouldn’t last.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Freya was having fun, despite Kaels grumpy attitude for the entire day and night. The elf decided to just not let the cranky Dragonness ruin the mood. Freya assumed the woman would tell her something like ’Don’t get too used to the quiet’ or ’Things aren’t always going to be this easy’, but until things started getting crazy she was going to enjoy getting to know her team members. They were going to be stuck with each other for quite a while after all. She spent the night chatting with Nasyrk and occasionally checking what Kael was doing. Which was not much at all. Oh well.

Once it had gotten late enough Freya laid down next to Kael after saying her goodnights to everyone and passed out.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

The sleep that Kael had fallen in to was broken and fitful. Every time she closed her eyes she had strange dreams of Dragons and magic that she didn’t know. The dreams hinted at someone needing her help with something, but that was all they told her. Kael was uncertain if the dreams were simply dreams or if she needed to pay attention to them.

In-between the short sleeps Kael heard snippets of the conversation between the Templar and someone else. In a rare moment of clarity she determined that it was a shapeshifter and that he was friendly. Kael trusted that if he wasn’t friendly then Nasyrk would have taken care of him.

Just as the sun was starting to lighten up the sky Kael decided that she wasn’t going to get anymore sleep that night. She stared at the sky changing colours for a few minutes before standing and stretching. She felt grubby and exhausted. Blue was the only one awake other than her. Freya was out cold, Nasyrk was also asleep and there was a bird curled up on a stump. ’I have never seen a bird sleep like that…strange.’ That must have been the shapeshifter. Kael wondered momentarily why he had stayed in the form of a bird to sleep in before deciding it wasn’t really her business and if he preferred to sleep like that then so be it. She gathered up her things and sat by the fire.

Pulling out the angry Witches soul she studied it carefully. The bottle wouldn’t hold it there for very long and if it did get out it would be more trouble than the Witch had been when she had a body. A Witches soul was not something that should be running around unchecked. Kael set it in the bag carefully and pulled out her book. Maybe there was a spell in there that would buy them some more time before she had to find a better container for it.

After what felt like hours of looking at the stars Blue had to walk around. He removed himself from the stump that became his chair for the last few hours and began patrolling the area. After a few laps around, the knight decided to set a few extra traps for their morning meal. He didn't go very far from camp because he was the only one awake, but he did what he could and managed to set more then a few rabbit traps. He would have to go back to check in the morning and if there were no results he would have to hunt for the groups meal. He decided to leave the thoughts of breakfast for later and he headed back to the groups camp. As he headed back, he couldn't help but wish someone in the group was skilled in the hunting craft. In all honesty, Blue wasn't and he was secretly ashamed that it showed. In his adventuring lately, he always took the initiative and went searching for the groups next meal although he never did it with the finesse a hunter would. Maybe if he taught Freya to use the bow she could do things that Blue didn't have the ability to do. Yes he was good with a bow, but tracking a killer and tracking a deer were two vastly different things and killing one seemed to weigh on his conscience more then the other.

He decided to work out a little of his frustration with practice. He pulled out all the pieces of his bow and began putting the bow together. As he constructed the bow, he looked around at all the trees to find something that would work well for a target. The knight found a tree with a knot that looked just right for targeting and stepped far enough back to practice. He notched one arrow after another and sent it flying at the tree. They weren't perfect shots, but every arrow hit the target, which made him feel better, if only a bit. He retrieved the arrows and continued the process until the sun began its ascent into the sky. As the light began to rise, the relatively quiet forest began to get quite a bit more activity. Blue decided it was a good time to head back to camp, so he took apart his bow and put both it and his arrows back into his pack. As he returned to camp, he noticed that somebody else was awake. Kael was sitting on the log across from the one he claimed for earlier while she read from her book. He didn't want to disturb her reading, so he quietly began setting everything up for the morning meal that he was about to go retrieve. Just as he was about to walk away, he decided against it. He turned to Kael, no longer worried about bothering her while she read and asked one very simple, but at the same time complicated question. " Why?"

'Dammit none of these spells will help' Kael was growing more and more frustrated with the book in her hands and the growing hunger in her stomach. If she didn't figure out something to contain this damn soul then it would break loose and catching it a second time would be a whole lot harder than catching it the first time. 'Maybe if I were to find another mage, someone who had more experience with Wit--'

"Why?"

Her thoughts screeched to a halt as Blues voice reached her ears. 'When did he come over here?' Has he gotten sneakier or was I simply not paying enough attention to my surroundings?' At first she couldn't figure out what he was asking 'why' about. The silence between them stretched for nearly a full minute before she sighed and closed her book, staring at the coals with a blank expression.

"I could tell you any reason under the sun but would any of them really matter Blue? Giving you reasons won't change what happened, it won't change the fact that I broke my promise and left. It won't change....any of it." She sighed again and put her book back into her bag. "I thought I would never see any of you again, I didn't even think up what I would say if I did see you again. And now. Now here you are and here I am and I have nothing to tell you." She chuckled and pinched the bridge of her nose while muttering "the Gods must really hate me."

Sitting up straight she finally looked at Blue and swallowed the terrible feeling of regret.

Hearing Kael's response made Blue question his resolve to get to the bottom of what happened. Above all he didn't want to hurt her and he could tell she felt something for leaving. Weather it was regret or something else he didn't know but she definitely felt something and the last thing the knight wanted was to make her dwell on it. He just wanted everything to be normal again and he would do anything to make it right, but what did that mean. Did that mean he just had to forget that one day, despite the promises that were made from both sides, she left? Could he just forget that? No, despite everything what's most important right now is Kael, not how her actions hurt him or anything else.

He realized he was staring. He had put plenty of thought into what he would say to her if he had ever saw her again, but now it all seemed to just melt away. Now he just didn't know what to say and it felt like an eternity before the words broke free.

" Despite everything that happened, I can't be mad at you Kael. I don't think I will ever understand why you did what you did and you are correct, explanations will be ultimately pointless. I promise to stay by your side until you wish me gone and maybe beyond that. I don't know if the things I feel are mutual, but over my time journeying lately I grew to understand some things. "

He looked away for a second then resolved himself to look back with his now wavering blue eyes.

" Ever since that night in the town I fell in love with you Kael. I can't help it but now I finally understand it. When we went to Luxan's Mansion I felt something I didn't understand whenever you interacted with Dante. I later understood it was jealousy which put me on the path to understanding my feelings." He finally looked away, not sure what else to say, but his heart was beating a mile a minute and he just couldn't look back. He grabbed his pack with his bow in it and headed back into the forest. " I'm going for breakfast." he said with finality as he slowly walked away, headed for the rabbit traps he set earlier that morning.

Kael watched him leave unable to say anything. She tried, though she wasn't certain what words would come out, but her voice caught in her chest every time she opened her mouth. Breathing had become difficult and she could hear his heartbeat loudly even with the distance between them growing with each second. Several thoughts ran through her head, flittering there and then drifting off before she could grasp them properly. 'He...fell in love with me?!' chanted in her head between the various thoughts that came and went.

"Told ya that the whole deal with him was romantic you silly lady. Go after him." Came a sleepy voice.

"Wha-" Kael turned quickly and found Freya standing next to her with sleep still in her eyes and a yawn. "How long have you been awake?" 'And how was I not able to tell you had woken up you're usually so loud.'

"'Bout since you tried and failed to explain your reasons for leaving him. C'mon Kael, usually you're soooo good with your words but that was absolutely dreadful to listen to. I think you should go talk to him. Or at least help him with breakfast." Freya sat on the ground and started poking the fire to revive it. By now the sun had fully lightened the sky and the birds loud with morning tunes. Kael shook her head.

"If I stay you'll be insufferable. Fine. I'll go but ... be care-"

"Don't even start. I'm fine here, Nasyrk is here and you two won't be very far away. Go."

Kael sighed and stood to follow Blue.

~*~*~*~*~*~

When she caught up to him he had already reached one of his traps and Kael cleared her throat and looked at the sky. "Uhm. L-let me help? If I remember correctly you don't exactly enjoy hunting." She figured she should probably talk with him about what he had said but she hadn't a single clue where to start. She was awful with expressing emotions.

"You know, I don't think there is a single thing you could do that would make me wish you were gone. Uh," she picked at the hem on her shirt "leaving you was...heartbreaking. I...I thought that I could handle it but I..." Taking a deep breath she angrily wiped her face. 'Screthin was right. Dragons really do feel things really strong. I can't believe I started crying while trying to have a damn conversation.' "I missed you Blue. And I thought about you every single day since I left. I tried really hard to forget you because I felt I didn't deserve remembering but I guess it was impossible since..." She shook her head and finally looked at him. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry I left and didn't tell you. I'm sorry I broke my promise. I won't put you through that again.." Kael had no idea how she was going to be able to convince him she was sincere. She fidgeted restlessly.

Blue had so many things going through his head at that moment. What if he just screwed up everything by telling Kael how he felt. What if she had just thought of him as a friend and there was nothing else there. What if the idea of him secretly disgust her because of his dragon killing blood. He wouldn't know what to do if any of that was the case. He remembered something his mentor told him long ago when he would fight with his siblings. " You can't help who you love." he said whenever they got into any disagreements. He understood what his mentor meant, but that phrase perfectly fit the hate she might feel. Deep down he knew that all of these thoughts were most likely pointless to worry about, but he couldn't help it. The way his mind worked was to think of the worst scenarios and plan accordingly, and he couldn't think of a worse scenario then Kael hating him.

Before he knew it he was at the closest trap he laid, which he cleverly put in a high traffic area that the animals nearby would use. He ended up being correct in its placement and was rewarded with a fairly fat rabbit for the morning's breakfast. He would normally feel somewhat accomplished towards the success, but he was too riddled with his feelings. He stood there, looking at the dead rabbit for a moment, thanking and apologizing to the god of the hunt for helping to keep him and the group nourished so they could continue their journey. He almost didn't sense someone coming behind him, but she didn't even try to mask her presence, and to that he was thankful. It allowed him a second to steel himself and make sure he was ready for the worst case scenario, which with any luck wouldn't come to fruition. Then ... she spoke.

"Uhm. L-let me help? If I remember correctly you don't exactly enjoy hunting." she said as he turned around to look at her. She was looking into the sky as if she couldn't bear looking at him. That was either a really good sign or a really bad one. In the pit of his stomach he couldn't yet tell what the feeling was. It would either turn into relief or anguish, either way he would be prepared. Dare he hope for the former? Didn't her coming after him mean good news, or could it just be that she didn't want to let him down hard with people sleeping so close by. She wasn't looking at him, so he couldn't tell just yet. He was thinking too hard, maybe if he let her talk things would work themselves out.

"You know, I don't think there is a single thing you could do that would make me wish you were gone. Uh," She awkwardly picked at her shirt. Well ... that was a good sign. At least that meant some of his fears weren't realized. She continued, still not looking at him.

"leaving you was...heartbreaking. I...I thought that I could handle it but I..." She said as she began to tear up. His first thought was, could he dare to hope, followed by the guilt of making the woman he loved cry.

"I missed you Blue." she continued. "And I thought about you every single day since I left. I tried really hard to forget you because I felt I didn't deserve remembering but I guess it was impossible since..." Oh gods he thought. Maybe she does feel the same way. She finally shook her head and looked at the knight. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry I left and didn't tell you. I'm sorry I broke my promise. I won't put you through that again.." She said while fidgeting, waiting for a reply. Once again he didn't know what to say. He moved without thought, taking the steps quickly and efficiently. He hugged her close, not even thinking of the fact she didn't like to be touched. All he wanted to do was to stop her crying and ease her mind, whatever it took.

Kael stared wide-eyed at the shoulder in front of her 'I can't believe what's happening' and could only focus on small details. His hair was against the side of her face and his arms were holding her close. 'He's so warm.' She could hear his heartbeat. Despite the initial panic that she felt when someone touched her she started to calm down and slowly brought her own arms up to wrap around him in return. 'This is ...nice' Unexpected and nice. Kael breathed deep and even though she could feel herself blushing she smiled. "Blue?" She shocked herself at the desire to not stop the hug but "Um...you caught a rabbit." He still hadn't spoken so she had no idea what was going through his mind.

"I wish I was better at saying what I feel. I know what is in my head and in my heart but it gets...muddled on the way to becoming words. But...I want you to know that I" her words came out softer and softer to the point where she didn't even think that he could hear her "feel the same I just...don't know how to show it or what to do." Kael pulled away from the hug and cleared her throat.

"Dragons feel emotions really strongly and to stop my kind from making decisions based on our feelings we evolved a safe guard to turn our emotions off. That's what I did before I.. Before I met you. Slowly somehow you turned them back on." She was too red in the face to really look at him so while she was speaking she looked at the ground with her hair covering her face.

Blue could have let out a loud sigh of relief. His fear of all the bad things that could've happened weren't realized. He fell in love with a beautiful, intelligent girl and she felt the same way. It was like a large weight was taken off his shoulders and he could now breath normally again. He felt stronger for it. He realized he hadn't said anything for awhile and he didn't want her to feel awkward so he spoke. "There aren't words for how happy that just made me." he said with a smile. His warmness inside almost showing a physical glow. "For now how about we go check the other traps and begin making breakfast?" He said as he leaned down to grab the rabbit and take down the trap. He put the trap neatly back into his bag and carried the rabbit in his offhand. The knight looked over to see if she would join him before he continued his morning chores.

Blues smile was bright and it settled the majority of the nerves in Kaels stomach. She agreed to his suggestion and the two of them continued checking the traps, making light conversation about things they had done in the time they hadn't seen each other. She stole glances at him while they gathers, his words still running through her head and causing her to blush lightly each time she thought of them. 'He said he was happy. He's .... happy.'

Kael counted 3 rabbits and two small birds caught in the traps, enough for breakfast but they would need to go hunting for lunch. Thankfully Kael also found some herbs to season as well as some edible fruit in the trees. The returned to the other three with plenty of food to have a decent breakfast. Freya smirked at the two of them returning and mentioned water before walking off with three flasks from the bags they had packed. 'She is going to be merciless with her teasing if I so much as even smile, I just know it.' Freya had also gotten the fire going quite nicely while they were gone.

With Blue in a good mood Kael felt less inclined to stay 'grumpy' in the hopes of convincing Freya to go home. She set about preparing the rabbits and birds with Blue until Freya returned with water.

"Sooooooooooooooo....." The Elf sat cross-legged watching the two of them prepare breakfast.

Kael shot her a slight glare. "Yes. What is it?"

Freya grinned "You both seem to be in a much better mood. Maybe you guys should go off into the woods together more often hmmm?"

Nearly dropping the knife she had been using Kael turned very red. "FREYA!"

The girl cackled. "Don't blame me! You left me here with two sleeping people for aaaaaages and I was very bored so now you can deal with getting picked on a little. Besides," the grin on her face turned absolutely feral "I'm sure if I get too annoying your brave knight will step in and protect your honor." She then proceeded to laugh loudly at Kaels expression.

"You are possibly the worst person I can imagine traveling with. I'm sure I have a spell in my book that'll make you mute, if even for a few hours? Do you really want to continue?" It was Kaels turn to smirk at her and Freya crossed her arms and pouted.

"Alright, alright. Fiiine."

Kael smiles and continued her work before having a sudden thought. "Hey Blue? How would you feel about teaching Freya how to use a bow?" Almost before the question was finished Freya squealed and jumped to grab Kaels arm in excitement.

"REALLY?!?! I can finally learn how to use a weapon?!? Will you really teach me Blue???" Freya was shining wide blue eyes between the two of them and practically vibrating in excitement.

Kael gently shook her off and sighed. "Yes if he will teach you then I don't have a problem with you learning. But ONLY to hunt and defend yourself. I don't want you rushing off into any fights like a justice crazed mad woman. And please for the love of anything good in this world please stop screeching so loudly." The meat had been properly prepared by the both of them so Kael got started on cooking, turning her back to the elf and the knight but still keeping an ear on their conversation.

Blue liked seeing Kael blush! It didn't happen often, so when he saw it he remembered the vision. He thought about teaching Freya to use the bow in the past and also had plans to eventually teach Kael some moves with the dagger, so when Kael asked it wasn't something he had to put much thought into. "I'd be happy to teach you how to use the bow, but sadly I'd only be able to teach you a little more then the basics. I have some skill on the subject but I'm no expert. It will take a large amount of training to master, if you're willing to put in the effort." The knight said to the overexcited elf. He then turned to Kael. "Would you also like some training in fighting with a dagger, or did you pick up some moves since we've been apart?" he asked, knowing only the major details of their time apart. "Either way we'll have to do whatever training we're planning after breakfast, besides this is looking like it'll be vastly better then anything I could cook." he said while eyeing the meat they were about to cook. "Besides, someone has to go hunting for our lunch and we might as well teach Freya before that so she can go hunting with me." He said looking over to the elf. He could tell she just wanted to be of help in any way and he would be happy to have company on the hunt. He also decided that the next place he could find a shop he would have to pick Freya up a decent bow, arrows and maybe a couple throwing knifes for Kael, if that was what she was wanting to learn.

Blue continued making breakfast with Kael. He could tell they were all hungry so they both hurried in their attempts. They now had another mouth to feed in the form of a certain shape shifter, which was information Kael thankfully shared with him. He wondered why a bird would be sleeping like that so close to people and didn't quite put the pieces togeather. When they got closer to finishing the breakfast, Blue went over to the tent Nasyrk was sleeping in to wake the Paladin up. After quickly saying enough to explain breakfast was about to be ready he began walking back to the group huddled around the fire. Kael was just finishing up the plates when Blue sat back down. He waited for everyone else to get up and dig in before he did the same.

While Kael continued cooking Freya was nearly dancing in joy. Kael felt slightly bad over not having taught the girl anything to defend herself; she had assumed she would always be able to protect Freya should anything happen. 'Then again I also didn't plan on us going on a dangerous adventure. She was about to respond to Blues offer when Freya piped up with a bright grin.

"Miss Kael knows how to use a sword now. Well... kinda. She doesn't carry one with her because she is clumsy with it still but I've seen her fight bandits with their own swords quite a few times. Also she-"

"That's quite enough Freya. Thank you but I believe I'm capable of speaking for myself." Kael finished cooking one of the rabbits and set it aside to cool. "I'm pretty awful with ranged weapons, they are harder to aim than my spells. But yes, I picked up a few new tricks." She smiled at Blue before going back to her cooking. "Freya why don't you go and pack up the sleeping gear. By the time you're finished your breakfast should be ready."

"Okay!" Freya was even excited about doing chores. Kael chuckled, making a mental note to track how long it took before the girl calmed down and dragged her feet with chores like she usually did.

As the elf walked off Kael spoke to Blue. "Her whole clan was killed before they could properly train her in anything. They are considered children until they turn 16 and then they are trained in hunting and defending. I found her at a village not far from where her clan had been staying. Silly girl was healing everyone who had been injured by the bandits, even while the humans were attacking her and trying to run her out of the village."

Kael paused long enough to check the cooking meat. "I dont think that girl has a single negative thought in her, she continues to help people and smile despite everything that she has been through. I don't know how she does it. All I know is that the moment I met her I wanted to protect her." She turned to Blue. "She also gets way too excited about a lot of things. In case you hadnt noticed," she chuckled.

"FREYA!"

Sarium eye's opened slowly at the exclamation. As he rose from his slumber, Sarium noticed two women conversing quite loudly. 'I guess sleeping is no longer an option at this point' He thought to himself. Sarium stood up and stretched his wings and legs. His feathers glimmered in the morning sun, radiating with a purple hue. 'I do believe this form has grown a bit more since the last time i used it. ' He observed his wingspan and his height and concluded he was nearing the size of a small eagle.

By the time he had finished his small inspection, the elf in the encampment had begun to shimmer with excitement. Though he wasn't sure what they were talking about, it was good to see these travelers in high spirits. 'they are going to need to be very motivated to get through the road ahead.' Sarium continued to observe the party, he was hoping he could lazily bum off breakfast from the paladin that was just beginning to arose from his sleep.

It was indeed a beautiful morning, but one thing was off for sure. Somewhere in the encampment, was an uneasy soul. One that could not be at rest and Sarium could feel it. Ever since he absorbed the four souls in his possession, Sarium became a lot more sensitive to the souls around him.

Trying to ignore this uneasiness, Sarium kicked off from the stump and extended his wings. He gave a few hard flaps and rose into the sky quickly. Once well above tree level, he turned into a glide to observe the surrounding area. The morning air was nice and cool and the sky was clear. Mornings like these made Sarium all the happier to be alive.

Looking at the elf, you would never think something so tragic had happened in her past. She seemed to have a upbeat and positive outlook on everything. She even showed a massive amount of energy when it came down to a dangerous situation, he thought as he remembered Freya running into the pub looking for anybody that could assist her companion. She looked frightened, yeah ... but she showed a great amount of courage and wits to not cause a panic and to ask a total stranger for help. Also she showed her spirit when she ran past the two fully armored men into who knows what with little armor and no weapons for Kael. Blue knew she would be a good addition to have on an adventure, especially if she could learn to use the bow. Even without basic bow skills, she would easily be a great morale boost for the already hardened adventurers. It wasn't every day you get to see that kind of energy or cheerfulness coming from someone so tiny. That wasn't even mentioning the one thing Blue was most envious about, the fact that she had the magical ability to heal. That would certainly become invaluable in the future, they would just have to watch out for her slightly too enthusiastic side. He had a feeling that enthusiastic side of Freya would bring him a good deal of physical pain in the very near future.

" Freya is lucky to have you, not just as a friend but also as somewhat of a mentor. I havn't been with the two of you very long, but I can tell that you guys work well together." he said as he finished readying the next piece of meat. Just as he set it down near Kael, he could hear Nasyrk waking in his tent. Blue was glad the paladin had gotten a decent amount of sleep because he had a feeling he would be a very necessary fighter in Blue's battle plan. Before Nasyrk left his tent, Blue finished speaking what was on his mind. " Along with my vow to stay by your side, I will also do everything in my power to make sure no more harm comes her way." The knight spoke in a slightly hushed tone as he saw Freya heading back over with a "mission accomplished" look on her face. She sat back down at her spot next to Kael and Blue began putting the food that was ready onto plates. As he got his first real look at Kael's cooking, his mouth began to water. It was perfectly cooked as well as well seasoned with whatever herb she found in the forest earlier. The knight would have to remember to add these kind of herbs the next time he made food for the group. Everything looked delicious and he couldn't wait to dig in, but first he felt he needed to serve the group. He first handed one of the freshly made plates to Freya, then he went to make the second plate for the paladin Nasyrk. Once finished he set it on the large rock near the fire, which was set to be his seat. He put a small amount on a smaller plate and set it near Nasyrk for the shape shifter, not knowing weather or not he would eat in his bird form or if he would rather transform back into a human. As Kael finished cooking the next portion he began making her a plate. He would take the last portion after it was done being cooked, if his stomach would allow him to wait that long. He quickly thought to himself that maybe he should make food with Kael more often, seeing as though she was this good at it.

#, as written by Nasy
As Nasyrk laid peacefully asleep, his nose was hit by a lovely scent of food. He whispered to himself, "Food!?" He sprang up and immediately picked up his sword and mounted it on his back as he left his tent. "Ah, lovely day. Food smells great." He said as he paced around and stretched. "Haven't had that kinda sleep in a long time," he thought to himself. Nasyrk noticed Freya was extremely excited as he walked over to the stump where Blue had left a bowl. "I assume this is mine." He quietly spoke and the noticed the second smaller bowl. "Who is that for?" He began to wonder and then it hit him. "Sarium!... did he leave? Well that's a dumb question if there is free food here for him." He looked around in search for his new friend and alas high in the sky he could see a big bird. "that must be him. He'll come back I'm sure." He mumbled as he picked up his bowl, sat down and began to eat.

He watched Freya pack while he ate. His taste buds were filled with joy. "This.. this is some great food! Give the chef my regards!" He yelled out toward Blue and Kael. Eventually Freya finished and came over and grabbed her bowl. She had a huge smile on her face. Nasyrk liked seeing her happy. "So what has you so excited my Lady?" He spoke to Freya. She began telling him about how Blue was going to teach her how to use a bow. Freya started to ask Nasyrk for advice on using bow as Nasyrk was a trained fighter as well. Nasyrk laughed. "No... I didn't do so good with a bow." He said. "Why not?" Asked Freya. "Funny story. Remember how I started the fire?...Well I technically hit the target." He tried to say without chuckling. "But I can teach you something if that is what you'd like from me; However, you must keep it a secret. You naturally have the gift of healing through birth unlike those of my order. We are granted it by a race that we call Angels. It is very dangerous. We use it as a last resort... As in.. we know we are going to die and our only chance is to give everything for one last shot at success even if it means our lives. Since you have the gift through birth you will have more control over it and in time the danger will cease to exist." Nasyrk whispered to her. Freya was very intrigued by this spell. "What does it do?" She asked. Nasyrk replied, "For us. It's like putting on a very strong shield. But no one can see it; therefore, you don't really know if it's working until someone tries killing you. But the real dangerous part is what you can do that I cannot. When we cast this shield, it rapidly drains our life and our soul. You can overcome that as well as use this shield on others. I don't know anyone who can use this spell as such nor do I know many who know about it. I want you to keep it a secret, until you are ready and the time comes for you to have to use it." Freya's eyes were wide. "How can I learn this?" She whispered. Nasyrk answered, "Tonight when every one is asleep and I am on watch, we can begin. But slowly... we will only practice a short duration at a time, you are young and you need to sleep." He gently put his hand on her shoulder and stood up. "Now." He yelled as he turned and looked at the bowl meant for Sarium. "If you aren't going to eat this, I will!!" Nasyrk yelled out to the sky. As made his way over to his tent to pack it up he heard the faint yelling of, "Mine mine mine mine MINE MINE! MINE!!!" From above.

Sarium gazed off at the horizon during his morning flight and noticed smoke of in the distance, probably 10 to 12 miles out. 'That really doesn't look good' Sarium remembered that the small town of Tietis was in that direction. He had been there only a week ago, the small farmers town was a bit too dull for his taste though.

"If you aren't going to eat this, I will!!" Nasyrk yelled.

Sarium's attention immediately turned towards the encampment. Sitting out in the open was a plate with freshly cooked food, It was a very inviting sight to Sarium. He proceeded to began a dive towards the ground. "Mine mine mine mine!" he exclaimed as he approached. Once he landed, Sarium didn't hesitate to begin eating his meal. He even stayed in his raven form.

'This is excellent!' Sarium thought to himself as he ate his serving. He took a moment to look up and saw a knight standing not too far away. Much like Nasyrk, he didn't seem to terribly concerned with his presence. However, this one was definitely more alert. "are you the one that cooked this meal? If so, you have potential to be a chef." Exclaimed Sarium to the knight.

Blue quickly ate his food, enjoying every delicious bite. It was a very solid and nutritious meal and that mixed with the recent metaphorical weight that was removed from his shoulders and he was feeling amazing. If this kept up there wasn't much that would be able to bring him down. As the paladin came out from his tent and spoke some quiet words with Freyah, Blue took a few long looks at Kael when she wasn't looking. He hadn't had the courage to attempt this before, but now he felt like he could take some risks. She really was beautiful with her long hair and pretty purple eyes. He noticed they changed color with her mood, which would help him figure out what she was feeling since the dragoness didn't exactly share those thoughts easily. She looked up right when he was looking at her eyes and they suddenly met with his. Right as he was about to casually look away, Nasyrk yelled up a challenge to the bird, which left Sarium flying down like a falcon which eyed his prey. Screeching out "Mine, Mine, Mine." as it flew down and landed square on the stump. It began digging into the meal, clearly enjoying the treat. "This is excellent," the bird said with excitement. The knight nodded his approval as he took another bite of his rabbit. " Are you the one that cooked this meal?" the bird said as it looked Blue's way again. "If so, you have potential to be a chef." he said by way of compliment.

" In all sincerity, I wish I could tell you I had cooked this meal." Blue said with a smile. " But this one goes out to our quite dragoness over there," He exclaimed while he pointed in her direction with his eating utensil. "All compliments for this meal go directly to our lovely chef." he said with a chuckle. "But don't be too pushy, or we might not get another meal like this any time soon." He said quietly to Sarium. Blue quickly ate the last few bites of his meal and sat down a little ways away from the group. He still had quite a few things to do this day. They had another days walk to get to the place where the frog was being kept, as well as he had to spend time training Freyah to use the bow. He knew that she would have to have some sort of natural talent if she would learn enough to be useful in this upcoming fight. They would have to spend quite awhile learning as they walked, as well as take several breaks to stop and shoot at unmoving targets. Some time after breakfast Blue would have to take her to the area he practiced at earlier so she could learn the fundamentals of shooting the bow. How to make arrows and most importantly how not to point it at anyone or anything she wasn't prepared to hit. It would take time for her to learn the accuracy it would take to hit someone in certain spots and not kill, but for now he just needed her to learn the basics. She seemed energetic enough, so he didn't see a problem in motivation, but that also meant she would be impatient. The knight would just have to wait to see what would come out of her training.
