Stravehaden has always been a place plagued with crime, of course it is a disease that all cities must face but in Stravehaden it is almost an unbearable burden. Its alley ways are filled with drug sellers, gang deals, sex traders and all manner of fowl lines of work. The people of Stravehaden count on the cops for protection but even the law enforcement has been subjected to temptations of crime. They tend to hurt more than help wanting to advance their own capitol rather than secure the livelihood of their citizens. There are good people in the mix of course, there usually are but just like during a plague, the despair overshadows the hope.

Heroes have always been talked about in legends, in fairy tales, in comic books but that’s all they have ever been stories. The evil within the city has never had to deal with such far-fetched characters… That is until now. Many people have ‘Awoken’ to the power awarded to them by an unknown source; it only took a little push. Every person who has ‘Awoken’ has suffered a life threatening experience activating their powers. It seems as if most people’s powers are somehow linked to the thing that threatened their lives. A person falling to their death ‘awakens’ their power of flight or and electro-kinetic ‘awakens’ after almost being electrocuted. This is not the rule of course; this just seems to be the strange happenings behind ‘awakening’

Rivaling the hero in every legend or fairy tale to date is also the villain. Sadly those who have awoken don’t always have the best intentions at heart. The evil corrupt people of Stravehaden have also awoken to something that might come to be very refreshing for them. Maybe their new abilities have tightened their hold on their criminal empire, or maybe it got them on the road of achieving one. Whatever the plan, it’s probably not a good one.

If you haven’t already figured it out this is a super hero/villain rp based around quite a crime ridden city. In the city the villains might be done a little more justice nature while the blooming heroes have a higher chance to get the bad publicity simply due to the city’s corrupt nature. So if you are a hero you probably won’t get much praise for it, and depending on how you go about being a villain you probably won’t get arrested or anything of that nature very quickly.

It’s your decision on whether you want to be good or bad in this world. In the beginning there will be no real guiding plot it will more so be all of you figuring out your powers and once that is established and I get a look at all the characters I can set up a Plotline so that this rp doesn’t just degrade into a Hero vs Villain, Punch, kick, fight fiasco.

I’m not going to make a list of powers you cannot have but just know if your character is overpowered he/she will not be accepted. All powers must come with an appropriate weakness. Don’t put things like Arrogant or Cocky as a weakness, those are all personality traits, when you think of weaknesses think physical.

In regards to awakening, please know that you are not assigned powers based on the way your life was threatened. Just because your character was about to be electrocuted does not mean he will gain electrokinesis. Your powers are already predetermined inside of you ad not by external stimuli. Think of it like this, your character is one of the lucky ones who survived awakening. For example, a character was predestined to be a pyrokinetic from birth but sadly the event that activated his powers was him beginning to drown. His powers still activate they just don't do him any good in this situation. Adversely the one who was to be an electrokinetic from birth almost dies from being electrocuted, he awakens from being electrocuted and due to the nature of his powers he is saved from a bad ending.
