Description
The Black family, reaching a point of veritable prosperity and peace, succumbed to an internal conflict. Nobody knows what the root cause of this was, but it is clear that the dispute started with money, and ended with most of the family being slain by their own kin. Now, the Blacks are not even a fraction of what they once were, and the name claims only a small part in the history of Calisma. The few who are left are scattered across the realm, unknown and in perpetual resentment of those around them, as well as each other.

Adrian can come off as solemn or grim, but in truth he is shy. A slight misanthropist, he still chooses to see the inherent good in people, deciding his opinion when the subject proves his/her true colors by their actions.
As the firstborn son of Lord Black, Adrian stood to inherit the family's ancestral seat. He was nineteen when the clan fell. During the hectic fighting, Adiran found his young brother and infant sister slaughtered in their rooms, and fled in his rage and grief. On his way out, Adrian killed the would-be usurper, Garth Black, in his blind hyper-emotional state. The rest of the family, deprived of their rebel leader, fell upon themselves and most were arrested or slain by the royal army. A bounty was placed on Adrian's head to answer for the murder of his young siblings, though it was really Garth who had them killed.
Of course, Adrian knew nothing of the accusations and disappeared into the countryside, moving where he pleased and performing favors for Lords and smallfolk alike. Also unbeknownst to him, he was given the title "The Lone Knight" by those he came to help, and gained a modicum of fame in the region, though noone knew his real name.
