{"It is not the end of the physical body that should worry us. Rather, our concern must be to live while we're alive - to release our inner selves from the spiritual death that comes with living behind a facade designed to conform to external definitions of who and what we are."}

β¦ Independent β§ Fierce β¦ Quietly Caring β§ Intelligent β¦
Lexa is seen as a loner in Camp Half-Blood, but that is only because despite the changing world, not many people want to hang around a child of the Death Lord. Of course, Lexa does have a handful of close friends who know her for who she truly is. Lexa has a brilliant mind and can rival some of the Athena children in strategy and problem solving, though it comes with practice rather than raw instinct. She enjoys reading anything from Greek and Roman literature, to mundane fiction and fairy tales. Lexa also enjoys training and sparring. Those who face her down would call her none other than fierce. She doesn't hold back in a fight and can be quite the sarcastic and sassy insulter. Lexa is also known for her stubborn quality; never one to back down and will persist until she succeeds. In real missions Lexa puts her intelligence, fierceness and stubbornness hand in hand to come up with unique ways of defeating enemies.
Though she may seem standoffish, Lexa does have emotions, and a lot of them at that. She is the kind of girl who cares deeply for her friends, though she doesn't express it outright. When she is around people who intrigue her or people she cares for, Lexa is just as talkative and humouring as the next person. It may not seem like she smiles much, but you just aren't around her when she feels comfortable.
Lexa's strongest trait is her independence. Ever since she was young she had been taking care of herself and fending on her own against the world. It is sometimes hard for her to let people into her friend group and be able to trust them when she is so accustomed to doing things on her own. Mixed with her stubbornness, Lexa is one who rarely asks for help, even when she needs it.

To tell Lexa's tale, one must first look to her mothers story, the woman who set Lexa's destiny in motion.
Up until her nineteenth birthday, Willow Abernathy had lived the normal life of any mortal girl; public school then high school, trying to get the best grades while also juggling a thriving social life. Of course, that all changed when Willow got in the accident. Legally she wasn't supposed to be drinking but her friends had all convinced her it was a good idea. Willow was born for parties, she was the stereotypical pretty popular girl. Pale skin, deep red lips, dark curly hair and the prettiest blue eyes that drove boys crazy. All that aside, a heavily intoxicated Willow climbed into a cab to head home the night of her birthday. How was she to know that another car filled with drunk teenagers would ram into the side of the cab?
Willow had been declared dead for three whole minutes before she was resuscitated. Willow had been saved, but nothing was the same. Dying and coming back to life changed Willow. She saw and heard things normal people weren't supposed to see and hear. She could see and talk to dead spirits that wandered around. Due to this Willow was isolated and called crazy and mad, but Willow knew the truth. She became interested in studying the afterlife and the underworld, thus leading to her obsession with the dead and the Greek legends. It wasn't long before she had a run in with the God of the underworld himself and had a child on the way.
Hades was surprisingly sweet to Willow and understood her quirks. Hades could tell she had a new sixth sense and it, and her beauty, intrigued him. They spent three short months together before Hades had to go for good but she wasn't lonely for long because six months later Lexa was born.
Lexa had a troubled childhood, much like some of the other demigods. Growing up with a mother who wasn't exactly right in the head was hard for her; she got picked on and bullied at school for it, but also the fact that she was kind of a terrible student. Dyslexia and ADHD didn't mix well in a classroom setting. The bullying was what made Lexa snap, and by the age of ten she had switched schools eleven times for sending kids to the hospital or creating mischief. Her mother had just laughed and gone about in her ways, talking to "spirits" and raving about how death would be her true relief in life. Whenever Lexa asked her why she was so fascinated with the afterlife, Willow would reply with "because thats where your father is". Lexa always assumed that meant her father passed away.
Life took a turn when Lexa turned thirteen. She had just come home from a terrible day at school where she had been given detention for sticking gum in another kids hair. Being the independent girl she was she made herself dinner and then went in search of her mother... Only to find WIllow laying in her bed peacefully, with no pulse. The note next to her said that she had finally had enough of waiting for death to come to her, so she had taken it into her own hands and offed herself to go be with her father. She apologized to Lexa for leaving her alone to fend for herself in the world, but that they would be re-united one day and be a family.
Foster home after foster home did not suit Lexa very well. It was only a matter of time before she was swooped up and taken to Camp Half-Blood where she learned about her parentage and began training there to grow stronger. Having no place to go, Lexa soon called Camp Half-Blood her permanent residence and home. With the years flying by, the majority of the hatred she held for her father flew away too. All Lexa has now is a passion for making the world right and protecting those close to her.
