Background:
Sydney was diagnosed with leukemia at age 5 and her parents completely broke down. With treatments and going back and forth forth between home and the hospital, her parents couldn’t handle the stress. They ended up getting a divorce when she was 8. Both of her parents still supported her, but she ended up living with her dad. By the time she was 15 she had been in and out of the hospital so many times that she knew all the staff by name and she always stayed in a specific room. It was like her second home. When they started giving her medications to take she complained of depression so they suggested she take up a hobby or two. So, she started taking up one hobby after another. She currently lives at home with her parents and is happy for the time being.
