Personality:
Makayla is a girl with a lot of layers, and a thick armor around her true self. She's guarded and thinks it's best to remain that way, because she doesn't want to get close to many people. Not a lot of people understand the pain that she went through as a child, or how it's made trusting people so difficult for her. She has enough on her plate as it is now, with Holly, with how her chance at a future was tossed to the wind when she accepted custody of Holly, and how her mental sanity is on a downward spiral that never seems to end. The last thing that she needs are complicated relationships with anyone else in her life, be it close friends or romantic relationships, so she tends to keep to herself. Stay in her lane, if you will. She minds her own business, does her own thing, and tries to stay out of people's way, and hopes everyone will grant her with that same courtesy. Because of this, a lot of the time she will seem indifferent towards a lot of things. She won't make you feel very loved and welcomed, but she also won't make it seem like she hates you. She's not truly that plain and simple, but it's easier that way. In a way, she was forced to grow up very quickly, so she's never had time for petty drama or childish games. She likes to be upfront with people, or stay out of things all together.

To those that she's very close with, and those are few and far between, she's softer. She's protective and caring and has more of a conscience and heart that she wants to give herself credit for. She has a good head on her shoulders, a lot of common sense, and the ability to sacrifice her own comfort and wants to make sure her family is taken care of. It's undeniable that she's a strong girl. Strong definitely isn't a characteristic she would use to describe herself, but to go through what she's went through, and to accept this whole new challenge of taking care of Holly when she didn't need to attests to it. Even on her lowest days, when she swears that she's going to kill herself, she somehow manages to make it through, and a lot of the time, with a fake smile on her face.

Likes:
Chocolate and alcohol are the keys to her heart. Red wine gets you bonus points, but she doesn't have money to buy a pair of ten dollar shoes most days, so a cheap bottle of vodka will do the trick too. Dealing with the ball of energy she calls her sister leaves her with no patience by the end of the day, so 99% of the time, marijuana is the only thing that has kept her from taping Holly's mouth shut by six o'clock. Said little sister is one of her 'likes' as well, though the love isn't always showed. She likes money (who doesn't?!), but likes the stability that comes with it rather than the thrill of being able to splurge.

Dislikes:
She has common dislikes, like certain foods such as taffy, cinnamon flavored gum, bananas, chicken patties and chili. She was never a fan of the snow. She hates long bus rides and misplacing her metro card for the subways. She grew up around roaches and pests, but spiders still creep her out, and thanks to allergies, dislikes cats and dogs. Aside from the normal dislikes, there are a lot of times where she dislikes being responsible for Holly. The girl is her world and she loves her, but she doesn't think it's fair that at twenty-three-years-old, she's stuck taking care of her. She would never say it out loud, but Holly can be a burden and there are times when Kay is sure that if she didn't have to care for Holly, she might have been able to leave New York and gotten her life together somewhere else. It's so hard for her to focus on herself when she's taking care of a girl who has the attention span of a child, but at the same time, it's impossible for her to not love Holly like a sister and that dislike will never be enough for her to abandon her.

Hometown:
South Bronx

Job:
She works as a cocktail waitress at a gentleman's club at night part time, works three days a week as a cashier at Duane Reade, and though she's trying to quit it all together, she still tampers with prostitution when money is running low.

History:
Makayla was born into a dysfunctional family, but it wasn't something that was abnormal in her community. She was born in the south Bronx to a crack addict mother, and a drug manufacturing and dealing father. He was an addict as well, but she preferred the addict in her mother, who was just neglectful, over the addict side of her father, who was abusive. Luckily, for most of her childhood, her grandmother looked after. She lived just a few floors up in their apartment building and at least allowed Makayla to make it through her toddler years in one piece, without accidentally consuming a piece of rock cocaine that fell off a coffee table or being the target of one of her father's whizzing beer bottles at three in the morning.

When she was ten years old, her mother was arrested for soliciting prostitution, and she never came home. She was released from jail, Makayla knows that much, but she just never saw the woman again. She doesn't know if her father threatened to kill her if she ever came back, or if the woman finally realized that her baby daddy was going to kill her if she stayed with him. All Makayla knows is that she was no real mother to abandon her. Maybe that's why it's been so hard for her to abandon Holly. She knows the pain, and she can't put that on someone else.

Holly is her stepsister, even though they aren't legally even related. Holly's mother was one of the women that Makayla's father spent a lot of time with after her mother disappeared. Holly was five years old when she first moved into the house, and at first, Kay hated her, but liked her all the same. She was annoying as hell, always touching things and making noise, but it shifted the attention of the abuse from her, onto the new girl. Now, Holly could be reasonably blamed for a broken television remote or running out of soap in the bathroom. Even when it wasn't her fault, like it had never been Makayla's, her father would blame her, and beat the girl. To this day, Makayla still feels bad about never stepping in to stop the physical abuse, and then the sexual abuse when that started, but she couldn't. If she did, it would have been her receiving the beatings, and she just knew that she couldn't do that. It wasn't her job to take a beating for a kid she owed nothing to... That's what she tried to tell herself, at least.

She just tried to focus on herself. She went to school, did pretty well given the circumstances, and during her senior year, got into a state college where she could have moved out and dormed there, and potentially started a whole new life, away from all of this mayhem. She couldn't do it though. Even though it would have been financially manageable with loans and financial aid, she just couldn't bring herself to accept the offer. However, she knew that this life wasn't for her, and spent one year at her community college while working part time at CVS before her father and Holly's mother were incarcerated. It all seems fuzzy, reflecting back on it. Police tape covering the apartment door, people in hazmat suits walking in and out, her father's face being shoved into the dirt outside as his hands were cuffed behind his back. Running a drug lab in an apartment building kitchen is nothing to laugh about, and Makayla feels like justice was served for her father... but not for her. She'll still never get her childhood back, and the end result of the arrests was that she somehow accepted custody of Holly, had to drop out of college to work to support them, and then ended up losing the apartment when she couldn't afford the rent. So, they ended up on the streets. Sort of. They moved into Manhattan where Makayla did her best to make friends with people who would let them sleep on their couches, but she couldn't find any work in the city that allowed her to stay with Holly after school too. That's when she turned to prostitution. She did it while working part time in retail, and for a while, that money was the money that was really supporting her. Of course, the profession was more than degrading, dehumanizing, and depressing, but what other choice did she have? Thankfully, things have slowly gotten better, with her obtaining a night job at a gentleman's club in the city as a cocktail waitress, that, along with a couple of days a week as a cashier, is getting her by. That's not to say that she doesn't work the streets when she needs the money now and then, but, it's a lot less frequent than it was. If she has anything good to say about the profession, though, it would be that the connection she made with the building manager, who happened to be one of her "johns", led to her being able to make an arrangement with him where in exchange for some "favors" on her end, he would let her stay in the building for a reduced rent rate until she could get on her feet.

"I'll pick it out for you!" Holly insisted immediately, after Makayla responded to Brooklyn's comment about buying her something, confirming that she might buy a hat. She had barely gotten a glimpse inside of the gift shop when she had stepped in to retrieve Brooklyn and Roman earlier, but the little that she did see suggested that she could walk around even a small shop like that for an hour straight and still not get bored. "But," she continued, back-tracking to what Brooklyn had said before Makayla responded, "I like the Pluto hat!" She looked towards Roman again, tempted to reach out and touch it, but withheld the urge. "Goofy is kind of weird and scary with his laugh, so I'm glad you chose Pluto. Cara said we might see them walking around today. If we see Pluto, me and you can take a picture with him, Ro!" As she said that, she reminded herself of what Cara had said about seeing characters before they left on this trip. Holly had expected to see all of them walking around and interacting with people, in a casual and informal fashion, so now she wondered why they hadn't seen anyone yet. It was something that she told herself she would have to bring up to Cara when they got to the restaurant, which ended up being a shorter distance than Holly imagined it to be. That feeling could probably be attributed to how, originally, she felt like death after they got off of the ride, and now even with a headache, at least her spirits were lifted again.

Building off of Makayla's question to Brooklyn and Roman, about whether they were eating, as they stepped into the restaurant, the first thing that Holly said to Chanel, Cara and Collin was, "Brooklyn and Roman are going to eat lunch with us!" It was a declaration, and a cheerful one at that, partly because she was excited to be reunited as a group, partly because she was happy to be feeling better, and also, partly because she was excited to be here. In Disney as a whole, but also in this restaurant. The lobby seemed cool in itself, but they weren't in there for long enough for Holly to really analyze it before Collin was speaking with the hostess and she was leading them inside of the actual restaurant, and that was like nothing that Holly had ever seen before. Her mouth fell agape in fascination as she stared up at the walls and ceiling that looked like a night sky scene, fit with little lit stars, and then to the rows and rows of cars that were made into tables and booths. In front of it all was a big screen playing black and white movie clips. It wasn't a fancy restaurant by any means, but it was cute and cool all in one, and any restaurant that let you watch TV on a big screen like that while you ate automatically deserved five stars in Holly's book.

"Oooooh, our car is red! I love red!" she exclaimed once the hostess brought them to their car. "Can I sit with you guys?" she said, already grabbing on to a hand of Chanel and Cara as she tugged them towards the front row of seats. "I have a lot of questions for you guys and it's okay if you guys are tall and block everyone else from seeing the movie," she said, unaware herself of what "questions" she actually had for them as she led Cara into the booth first so that she could sit in the middle of them. It was a little bit of a squeeze, but it wasn't unbearable. "Are you guys best friends and secretive because your names both start with 'C' and you're in a C club that only people whose names start with C are allowed to be in?" That question was going to lead into Holly commenting on how Collin started with a 'C' too, but then that prompted her to want to ask if Chanel's brother's names all started with 'C' as well. Before she could ask that, though, she was reminded of something else. "I want to say hi to your mom! Did you call her yet? When you do it can you do the video so I can see her face?" she said to Chanel, as she excitedly picked up the menu in from of her, though she didn't attempt to look it over yet.

It was clear to Chanel that Cara hadn't understood what she had said. Instead of lying to Makayla and Holly, Cara should treat the trip itself as though this was her last time going, so that way she could understand where the girls, and to some extent, the rest of them were coming from. She didn't know about Roman and Brooklyn enough to gauge the likelihood of their return, but doubted it to be high. She herself, next to the Forrester's, had the highest chance of coming back, but she didn't just have an guaranteed annual trip in her back pocket. Or any trip for that matter. It went without saying that the purpose was to practice some level of empathy, but it fell short on the girl, and apparently everything out of Chanel's mouth did as well. It was like she was talking around Cara's ears. It was harder to resist the urge to roll her eyes, but she did find it easier to not say anything in response. Like a natural response to many things for her generation, she just pulled her phone out and thumbed at it absently. Only a short while later did the rest of the group show up, the fact of which brought a small smirk to Chanel's mouth. An hour ago she would have been concerned with everyone being together, or at the very least cautious, from a logical stand point, but now she was enjoying the space that the extra bodies would hopefully provide, since she felt like she needed a break from her friend right about now. It was even stranger for her because it wasn't like Cara, or how she was, was news to her. Even before she really got to know the girl, she could feel out her type, shallow was that might be. But she'd met Cara's before. Perhaps not same tax bracket Cara's, but the ones in essence. If Cara's own words didn't throw her off, then them actually annoying her more than usual certainly did.

Chanel had planned on sitting wherever, but not the front, for obvious reasons. But if she was being realistic, they were all quite tall, save the two sisters. Holly made the decision easy for her, though, and Chanel was internally grateful for the physical space between her and the blonde. She glanced towards Makayla subconsciously before shifting her eyes away, not wanting to unintentionally signal to the girl that her sister was being a burden. Before she turned back to Holly, she caught sight of Roman sliding into the back, his eyes still observing the surroundings. Chanel plucked the menu from in front of her, her mouth beginning to water at the anticipation of food. She didn't have herself fooled, though. Disney was known for many things, and food was not one of them. And as places like this tended to go, the atmosphere was what you were really paying for, but she was too hungry and not in the mood to be picky. Nitpicking every little detail would sabotage her enjoyment, and she'd take them as they came. "I actually already talked to her," she said. Chanel paused her browsing, placing the menu in her lap, in order to fix her hair once more. As she unravelled it and tried again at another bun, she looked towards Holly. She didn't bother addressing the girl's previous statements and concerns, since her mind moved so fast, Chanel wouldn't be surprised if she completely forgot them by now. "But I can call her again later so you can say hello. Why do you want to say hi so badly?" Chanel knew better than to find it totally odd that Holly had been so intrigued by her mom today since the girl had her own unique thought process. This didn't stop her from wondering from time to time, even if she could sometimes predict (although, likely incorrectly) where Holly was coming from. Then, as with kids the age Holly behaved, it was easy to be curious, especially like now, where it wasn't immediately obvious, and peculiar enough--in its own right--to warrant question.

It took a lot of self-control for Makayla to not yank Holly away from Cara and Chanel, like she had done on the ride, when she took it upon herself to insist on sitting between them in the front booth. She had already been strict with Holly today, and after the minor setback on the ride, she decided that she would let this slide. It wasn't like Holly was doing any actual harm. Her sister was merely over excited; a state of existence that she seemed to nearly live in. While Makayla did her best to keep Holly under control, while simultaneously trying to teach her that sometimes it wasn't always best to act so hyper and energetic, it was clear that the way that Holly acted wasn't really related to any sort of behavioral issues. It was basically her personality, and though Makayla could keep her subdued with threats and constant reminders to tone it down, it also wasn't fair of her to expect that Holly could or would constantly water down her personality just to make Makayla feel more at ease. It wasn't a fair expectation, and at least with this group, it probably wasn't a necessary expectation either. Brooklyn, Roman and Collin definitely seemed to be ahead of Holly on Cara's hit list, and Chanel lived with them for long enough to know what to expect with Holly. The others... well, Makayla didn't necessarily care about how Holly affected them. She still did her best to prevent Holly from being overbearing but she also didn't feel like she owed Brooklyn, Collin or Roman and excessive amount of caution or care in that department. She would feel less guilty if Holly was annoyingly clinging to Brooklyn during the week than she would if she was doing it to Cara and Chanel.

Still, especially after the girls had both tried to insist earlier that Holly wasn't a problem, Makayla allowed herself to think that she had no reason to apologize or offer to switch seats with the girls. She had to take a seat in the row behind them, which meant that she was sitting with Collin, someone she barely knew, but that was fine. It would be a tad awkward, but he seemed quiet and decent, and Makayla thought that she was easy enough to get along with as well. "I feel like you and Cara are Disney experts," she said, looking to Collin with a soft smile as she decided that it was best to break the ice sooner than later. "If that's the case, what do you recommend?" she said, looking at the menu. She realized once she had lifted it off of the table that the waitress had hostess had given her the kids menu she had requested before they were led out from the waiting room, which was a relief, since she had initially thought the woman had forgotten it and that she would have to ask (and possibly explain why) for one when the waitress came over. It was one of those disposal kids menus that came with a pack of crayons to use on the activities that surrounded the menu, which made Makayla feel a bit more at ease. Between the movies playing on the screen and that, she doubted that Holly would bother the girls too badly. "Here," she said, reaching forward and over her table to tap Holly on the shoulder and give her the menu and crayons. "Pick something off of there to eat, and make sure you don't talk their ears off," she warned, before leaning back to sit down.

Holly was going to answer Chanel, but before she could, Makayla was shoving a paper menu over her shoulder. Holly gladly accepted it, not paying any mind to the notice on the menu that said it was for children ages nine and under. She was too used to ordering from the children's menu by now to have to question that, since she went out to eat with Cara fairly regularly. Between her more juvenile taste in food, and her preference for small portions, it made sense in multiple ways for her to order off of those menus. Normally, all it took was her opening her mouth for a few minutes for whoever was serving them to realize that it could be offensive to question why she needed the menu, too. Because Holly was intrigued enough with Chanel and conversing for the moment, she didn't open the menu or even open up the small box of crayons that it came with. Her fingers toyed with the box, but she managed to stay focused on Chanel for the time being... even if that focus wasn't entirely focused in itself. "Makayla doesn't let my mom call me on the phone," she began, her voice cheery even as she launched into a conversation that could normally hold emotions that weren't quite as happy for other people. Holly's past was something that she talked about randomly. She definitely was not a private person, and no one could describe her as such, but she also didn't talk about herself in a way where she would ever sit down and outline her entire life for anyone. She wasn't secretive, but she only really shared things about herself in random bouts, when something reminded her of something that had happened to her. What people knew about her mostly came from them piecing things she said together on their own, though if they did ask, she was also capable and okay with being direct in her answers. She would never reference the specific abuse that she went through, mostly because it was something that she coped with by completely blocking out. It was one of those things that she definitely needed therapy for to heal in the long term, but that she had managed to cope with in the short term by just never speaking of it. The non-traditional way that she was raised, and the less direct acts of abuse and neglect were different though, and she had no problem referencing them, mostly because she didn't actually think or realize that they were as cringe-worthy as they were to people who grew up in normal households.

"She said that she didn't want to talk to me before she had to go away, so she doesn't need to talk to me now either, and that's okay, I guess, because I can still talk to her when I write her letters and stuff, but I bet she would be nice on the phone!" she continued. Her mother had requested their phone number in letters, since she could use the phone in prison to make calls, but Makayla had always refused. Holly usually dropped the subject by the time her response letter was sealed and in the mail, but even with Makayla's reasoning, she still didn't really understand why it was such a bad thing. Again, it related to how she just refused to think of what her mother had allowed happen to her, but also to her optimism and pure hope that her mother had somehow changed. Even if she realized that she didn't need a mother to survive, Holly definitely wanted one. She absolutely believed that there was a chance that her mother would leave prison as a new and perfect woman and make up for the years when she was the opposite of that. "And your mom is so nice, right? She calls you all the time because she always wants to make sure that you're safe and still being healthy! I was telling Brooklyn and Roman about how healthy you are. I was talking about you, but just in a good way. And when I talk to your mom, I'll talk about you in a good way too! And then in my head I'll pretend that I was talking to my mom, but your mom and my mom don't really look the same... but actually my mom might look different now! One time when I came home from school my mom was on the couch, and Makayla wasn't home because she was... I'm not sure what she was doing but she used to have a boyfriend a really long time ago, and his name was Jason, and he wasn't really cute, not like how Collin is. He was kind of ugly, but she didn't think so, so maybe she was with him. But I came home from school and my mom was on the couch and she was sleeping, but not regular sleeping, because when you're regular sleeping, like when Makayla is regular sleeping and I pull her eyelids apart she wakes up, but that time when my mom was sleeping I did that to her and she didn't even wake up, and she looked like she was a zombie, but she wasn't dead! But she kind of looked like it, but she wasn't! Did you know that there are some dogs that are really good actors, like better than whoever your favorite actor is, that know how to pretend they're dead? Even though they're just dogs!"

As if that wasn't a perfect representation of how quickly one thought could spiral into another in her mind, the way that she almost instantly then flipped open her menu was, as she claimed, "I can get my drink in a cup with Ariel on it! I love Ariel!", after reading about a novelty cup she could purchase with the meal.

Cara didn't mind the seating placement that Holly chose for her, though she would have preferred to be on the end than squished into the deepest part of the booth. It wasn't a big deal, and especially since Roman and Brookyln were as far away as possible from her, she decided that she could be positive about this. She reassured herself that she had to be more optimistic, and that started with opting not to question whether everyone else was just as cold as she was, now that they were in the air conditioned space, and instead, feeling grateful that they weren't standing out in the heat still. Even though Chanel's silence had only lasted for a minute, if that, before the others had arrived, Cara was a tad wary, if not bothered, by how Chanel hadn't answered her earlier. She told herself that it wasn't worth overthinking, and as she picked up her menu, she distracted herself enough to drop it for the moment. Holly's talking on top of that, did the trick even more so, as she launched into a solo conversation about what Cara could only assume involved her mother either overdosing on drugs or being so high that she was heavily sedated and passed out from whatever she had been taking. Holly mentioned it in the most casual of tones, leaving the reference a second after saying it, as she continued to talk about dogs learning how to play dead. It had Cara glancing towards Chanel with a "wtf" expression on her face, though she looked away quickly when she remembered that Makayla was sitting behind them.

Cara was used to Holly and all of her quirks by now. They ate out, probably on average, two times a week, so this particular setting in itself was something she was used to. She knew to expect that Holly would ask the waitress random and sometimes intrusive questions, and that she would sometimes want to make multiple trips to the bathroom, for no other reason than because she wanted to get up and walk around and see things. Holly's limited meal preferences clashed with Cara's, since she preferred salads and greens and healthier options, but given that they lived in New York, it wasn't hard to find a happy medium. There were places like Delicatessen and Cafeteria, and countless others, that were trendy and cool, and offered the food that Cara was used to, while also having macaroni and cheese and french fries for Holly. Even if Cara was used to all of this, though, it was still hard to not be surprised and caught off guard by some of the things that came out of her mouth, especially when they involved some of the more shocking aspects of her life before Cara knew her. Things like growing up in a poor home, with drug addicted parents who were neglectful were things that Cara could not relate to on any level. They reminded her of those news stories she would see online every once in a while, about a kid being found dead in their home after their parents abused them for years and authorities failed to intervene. It seemed gross and foreign to her, like something that only happened in trailer parks in the midwest. It was hard for her to fathom that anything like that could have happened to someone she cared about now, and Cara constantly found herself wondering how Makayla let stuff like that happen, even if obviously, none of it was Makayla's fault, and Makayla was doing ten times more than Cara would ever do if they're lives were reversed.

She decided to leave all of that for Chanel to respond to, but as she directed her eyes back to her menu, she had to playfully throw in one comment. "We might need to get your eyes checked when we get home if you think Collin's cute, Holly." Though it was meant light-heartedly, Collin also deserved the weak dig after his text to her, that made Cara roll her eyes. As if she didn't know how Brooklyn worked... the last person she needed advice from on the matter was him.

In a normal conversation, it would be rude that Chanel wasn't fully paying attention to Holly. While she was still listening to what the girl was saying, as the shocking references were definitely not missed, part way through she turned to look through her menu. It was a normally terse social cue, signalling that the listener wasn't interested, but for one, it was known that Holly didn't pick up on social cues as readily, or in the same way, as everyone else did. And secondly, Chanel wasn't doing it to be impolite. She knew that Holly talked a mile a minute, and any chance she had to respond, like about her mom, would just as quickly pass as the girl darted to another subject. Cara's befuddled look didn't go amiss either, but Chanel didn't return it, not that the girl held contact long enough for Chanel to do so. She turned back to Holly then, unable to force back the amused and confused grin from her face. "Oh, stop," Chanel said at Cara's quip, although her voice was light enough to tell that she wasn't actually saying that for preventative measures. "You two are basically twins." She danced around saying that Brooklyn could very well be their cousin, but figured that joke might be better suited for a different audience.

Chanel leaned over towards Holly to peek at her menu. Before her eyes really settled on the page, she placed a finger on the side of the page. "Do they have chicken fingers?" With it being a kids menu, Chanel half-answered her own question, but she was really just asking Holly to redirect her. It was pretty clear that she was excited, which was fair, because admittedly, the place was pretty cool. But for her own sake, and the sake of the other guests, reeling her in for even just a second could be a nice breather. Knowing Makayla, and after the awkward monologue Holly just delivered, she was probably ready to snatch the girl and apologize, so it was also for Holly's own sake as well. The girl wasn't trying to be so...so...present. And she usually was very vibrant and impossible to miss, but Chanel knew she couldn't hype her up too much while they were inside, but it was nice to see that she was back to her normal self, just as she'd predicted. She'd much rather have a hyper, stimulated Holly than a pale, upset one. Even though one was far more overwhelming than the other, the former still felt more right. As she glanced at Holly, the colossal speech she flooded the air with just seconds ago had a delay affect on her, as if it had been travelling through water and had finally reached her. While Chanel's question ended up being veered slightly left, one thing did stick with her, and it was Holly's reassurance that she had only been saying good things about her, as if it really needed to be mentioned. It went without saying that the girl was a sweetheart. She was meanest when she wasn't trying to be, and it was all in good innocence, like earlier, but it wasn't something she could really be faulted for. Chanel suppressed the urge to feel somewhat bad. While she wasn't Brooklyn, where the girl seemed to be a Holly magnet, she did understand that Holly liked her. Perhaps it was because she had so much green food and tried being nice, but she didn't really think she was that deserving of Holly's admiration. Not that Brooklyn was either since the girl didn't even attempt to be nice, but with someone as pure and raw as Holly, for a girl who felt manufactured inside and out, it was an uncomfortable feeling. Like the guilt after a bad prank.

"Here," she said, stretching her arm behind Holly. "Help me pick, I'm super indecisive when I'm hungry because everything sounds good." If she was being honest, nothing particularly grabbed her. The menu was better than she was expecting, and there were a few things that seemed nice, but nothing that was making her drool, and definitely not so many things where she felt conflicted on the right choice to make. "Ooh. Let's order dessert first. Is that okay?" she said, turning to look back at Makayla. She doubted Makayla cared what order her sister ate in, but instead was more concerned with the girl eating all the sugar. She swiftly pulled the menu up, hovering it between her and Holly so that it shielded her mouth from the girl's view. Chanel mostly mouthed the words. "I'll eat most of it."

"Eh, I wouldn't call myself an expert," Collin said, smiling somewhat sheepishly as Makayla started talking to him. Compared to the others here, he and Cara probably did seem like experts since they had basically been on every ride available, stayed at multiple hotels, and eaten nearly everywhere too. He knew that there were die-hard Disney fans who had annual passes, made it their goal to have photos taken with every character in existence, and knew all of the ins and outs of the parks, though, so that was what he considered to be expert level (and it definitely wasn't something that he cared to obtain). "Definitely not an expert on this place. I think we've only eaten here once or twice, and it was when we were kids." He didn't have any specific memories on the quality of the food at this place, though glancing at the menu, it looked like the kind of food that any diner in New York would serve. It was typical American style food with burgers, ribs, and the likes. He would eat almost anything on the menu, as he wasn't a picky eater, but American food got old for him fast. It was easy to have a diverse food palate when you lived and grew up in New York City, where you could find restaurants in every variety around every corner. Not only was there a wide selection of restaurants, but because the city itself was diverse, it was also easy to find restaurants that also boasted good quality food that was as close to authentic as you could get without actually being in the country or area that the food originated from. It was hard to settle with eating hamburgers and pizza every day when you had a world's worth of amazing food just as accessible to you.

"Disney actually has some pretty decent restaurants, though," he offered, deciding that this place wasn't the best example of how good the food here could be. He doubted that the food here was bad, and given that the burgers alone were listed at nineteen dollars a piece, which was even a bit higher than you would see at diners in New York, he figured that the food better not be bad. As he looked at the menu with some more focus, he added, "There's a great seafood place on the boardwalk by our hotel, and I think we've eaten at the Italian place there too, and it was good. There's a sushi restaurant, but I don't think we've ever eaten there, but there are some good places in Epcot too. There's actually a Moroccan place there that's sick. It was the first place that I ever tried lamb at." That reminded him of Chanel, who he only knew had Moroccan blood in her because of a previous conversation that occurred a while ago, when he was ordering Moroccan food from a restaurant in New York and she happened to be present with Cara. He was going to lean forward to include her in the conversation and ask her if she was down to try it and be the real judge of the restaurant's quality, but she had beat him to that as she spoke about desserts with Holly, and then subtly included Makayla in the conversation. He had been eyeing the drink menu as she spoke, but until then, figured that it was a lost cause since he had left his fake ID in the hotel room, and knew that Disney was pretty insistent on IDing. Especially after Cara's playful, yet noted, comment in response to Holly's compliment of him, he decided that he could be a bit cheeky in return. "Include an Orbiting Oreos drink in your dessert order and be the cool sister I never got to have, Chanel," he insisted with a smile, deciding that Oreo Shake mixed with Godiva Chocolate Liqueur sounded really good. "And if you're game, I want you to rate the Moroccan restaurant Epcot has some time this trip. Your opinion's the only one that I'm truly gonna trust."

Makayla's eyes remained on the menu as Collin spoke, and she was quickly introduced to just how expensive Disney was. She knew that the tickets and hotel were very expensive, and she already had assumed that souvenirs and food would be overpriced, but twenty dollars for a burger?! Even as someone who lived in one of the most expensive cities in the world, that was a surprising price to see. Then again, Disney didn't count as being Florida, in that sense, where you would expect prices to be much cheaper than somewhere like the city. Brooklyn's words rang in her head though, and she internally shrugged. Cara wasn't going to accept her money even if she offered it, and she had already thanked Cara a million times for the trip (and would do the same before it was over), so Brooklyn was right. She had no reason to not take advantage of this, or at least not feel guilty for doing what everyone else was doing. With that in mind, she told herself that she wasn't wrong for deciding that she would order the chicken pasta dish, even though it was listed at twenty-four dollars, something that Makayla would never even dare to pay for a dish, if it was coming out of her pocket.

Holly's voice was loud and energetic enough that it couldn't be drowned out, even over Collin talking and the rest of the noise in the room, but she tried to focus on Collin's words, especially when she heard Holly bring up a boy she dated years and years ago. She only focused more on the girls in front of her when Chanel brought up dessert and then mouthed to Makayla that she would eat all of it. After Collin requested that Chanel order him an alcoholic drink, which confused Makayla momentarily until she remembered that he wasn't twenty-one, Makayla was set on ordering a margarita for herself, and with that planned, she easily waved a hand dismissively to Chanel signaling that she wasn't worried about it. "Girl, you're sharing a room with her tonight too, so if you're not worried, I'm not worried," Makayla said with a small laugh. Normally she did try to force Holly to eat real meals instead of sugary things, but when it came down to it, macaroni and cheese and chicken fingers weren't healthy either. Plus, after the issues with the roller coaster, Makayla really just wanted Holly to get something in her stomach. "I don't think I've ever had Moroccan food," she admitted, as Collin referenced a place he wanted Chanel to rate during the trip. "I'd be down for that tonight. What kind of food is it, exactly?"

Holly laughed at Chanel's claim that Cara and Collin were basically twins. It kept her from telling Cara that she definitely didn't need to get her eyes checked, because she disliked doctor visits, since she hadn't caught on to the fact that Cara was just trying to insult Collin by saying that. "They have popcorn chicken!" Holly informed Chanel, when she asked about chicken fingers. "And that's not chicken that tastes like popcorn! It's just little chicken nuggets!" she said, as if it wasn't common knowledge, because it hadn't been to Holly until she had seen it on a menu a few months ago and thought that was what it meant. "Magical Star Cocktail!" Holly read aloud, quickly pointing away from the dessert section of the menu and to the part with the drinks. She had said it excitedly because it had a name that made her want it, but she knew that a cocktail was alcoholic, so she knew better than to request that for herself. "You should get that!" she insisted, bypassing the fact that Chanel was referring to meal recommendations and not drink ones.

The suggestion of ordering dessert first only hyped up Holly more, and she was too busy looking at the menu to respond to Makayla's comment to Chanel about how Chanel probably should be worried since they were sharing a room. Sugar kept Holly overly energetic, but her sugar highs wore off fast too. Even if she ate a cup of pure sugar, it was likely that Holly would knock out by her usual time tonight, if not early, because of all of the traveling and tiredness that came along with that. "We should get the doughnut for dessert, Chanel, and then I can have the doughnut and you can have the apples since you love fruit," Holly said, after reading that the glazed doughnut came with cinnamon apples on it. It still sounded good, and Holly would probably try it with the apples too, but she was currently still fixated on believing that Chanel wanted nothing that contained anything non-related to fruits or vegetables, even though she knew from experience that that wasn't completely true. "And can you be the cool sister that I never had too, and get me the Oreo thing too?!" she said, not knowing what it was, exactly, that Collin had requested, but knowing that she liked Oreos enough to think it sounded good.

Makayla's nonchalance was unanticipated, but not under appreciated. Holly's typically earlier bedtime fell short on Chanel's memory, but she still thought it would work out fine beause the day was still young, and coupled with the heat and the other excitements awaiting the girl, Chanel assured herself that Holly would work the sugar out of her well before it was time to go to sleep. She began lowering her menu so that she could return the good news to Holly. Although the girl was sitting right there, there was no telling if she'd completely moved on from the dessert subject, having found a new interest, although she'd later find out that that wasn't the case. Seeing Collin talking made her momentarily reposition the menu without really thinking on it. She offered him a quick, affirmative wink. "Only if you share with me!" she said. Surprisingly, she hadn't even started looking at drinks yet, which went without saying that it was totally uncharacteristic of her. Usually she offered to start with drinks first and then work up an appetite for food. Being in a family setting, and right next to Holly, shifted her tendencies a bit, mostly because she did have to tone it down around her family, especially her mother, who was raised a devout Muslim and, understandably, didn't completely abandon her principles and values despite leaving the religion to marry her dad. Her mom had definitely improved when it came to tolerating her daughter drinking, and it wasn't that her mom didn't consume any alcohol. The woman enjoyed a cup of wine here and there, but she was the type to be protective over her children, and Chanel could fathom that it was probably an adjustment to see that her kids were finally entering adulthood.

Collin's illegal request reignited that spark though, reminded her that although this was a family setting, she wasn't with family.
She quickly shifted gears, ready to check out that part of the menu herself since any place with an Oreo drink was already off to a very promising start. There were few things that could pull her away from alcoholic drinks, fun ones especially, but Collin had hit the target on the head for the second time in the row, as the mention of her favorite food had her completely pivoting to face him and Makayla. "Am I game? Am I game?" she asked, incredulous at the suggestion that she'd be anything but, as well at the fact that there was Moroccan food here. Living in New York meant high accessibility to a world of different food. When she first left home, and living in the city seemed to be a giant mistake, her only saving grace was the food, namely the different Moroccan restaurants she'd dabbled in. They subsided her homesickness just enough, but even the very best ones, of course, didn't compare to her mothers food. That was years ago, and by now she was more than adapted to her new home, although that didn't stop her cravings for her childhood cuisine. And it certainly didn't stop her from ever turning it down. Chanel was an excitable person. She could hype up anything and find something good in just about everything. She was a natural jack of all trades when it came to positivity, but something special alivened inside her when someone brought up Moroccan food, and it was evident in the way that she didn't adequately answer Makayla's question. "I love Moroccan food. It's like the greatest food in the country, probably the world, possibly the universe. My mom makes the best kaab el ghazal. The best everything really. Next time we're taking a group trip to my place and my mom's cooking for all of you. It's been decided."

"I can't believe you remembered I was Moroccan!" she said, impressed, but mostly flattered. Even when she told people, they somehow either completely forgot, or confused her ethnicity with something else, like Ethiopian. Because she grew up with a Moroccan mother, she couldn't fathom being anything else, or being confused for anything else that is. "We have the best tea in the world. The Brits have nothing on us." She glanced back at Roman, whose face was still buried in his menu. In an odd change of roles, Holly was the one to cut off her enthused monologue. "That sounds good. We can get that if you want. But not the Oreo drink," she said laughing. "That has alcohol in it." She turned back to the other two and playfully rolled her eyes. "I'm not even hungry anymore. Now I just want Moroccan."

Collin was glad that Chanel and Makayla both seemed responsive to him, with Chanel's vibrant personality coming out quickly at the mention of the cuisine. Admittedly, he had been feeling a bit outcasted all day, and despite the fact that he was partially doing it to himself, and maybe that he deserved it to an extent too, he was glad to be back in the circle. It was nice to have people to talk to, especially when they were the "normal" people of the group, and not Brooklyn and Roman, who he felt like he would be further alienated against by talking more with them. That was why he was glad that Makayla had chosen to sit next to him too, even if he knew that she hadn't purposely chose to sit with him out of a desire to be with him, and that it was just the easiest option for her given Holly's placement. Things ended up working out, since it wasn't awkward and silent like part of him had expected it to be, and additionally, he wasn't currently being lumped together with the more disliked duo of the group. "Of course," he laughed, when Chanel commented on her surprise about him remembering her ethnicity. "I think of you every time I end up at Cafe Mogador," he admitted. It was a Moroccan restaurant in the East Village that one of his classmates at NYU introduced him to a couple years back. They were a pretty popular brunch spot, but served lunch and dinner too, and Collin swore by their chicken kebabs. They definitely beat the ones at the Moroccan restaurant that he had grown up eating, since it was an easy walk from his family's house in the Upper East Side. He had no doubt though that whatever Chanel's family ate at home was ten times better than anything he had ever had.

"Moroccan food is really good," he said, following up on Chanel's description since it probably hadn't completely answered Makayla's question. "Couscous is something you always see on the menu. I think a lot of dishes have beef, but lamb, chicken and fish seem pretty common too. All I know is that you can't go wrong with kebabs," he said. That probably wasn't completely helpful either, but he also didn't remember the names of the specific dishes. He just knew that everything he'd tried was flavorful, good and unique. "I could always make a reservation there for tonight, if anyone wants to try it," he said. He doubted that Cara would react positively to him even giving his input or a suggestion, but he also didn't think that there was anything wrong with the group splitting up for a meal.

Just then, a waitress came to their table, and she was just as bubbly and upbeat as the hostess who had sat them a few minutes more. After the greetings were said and done, she offered to take their drink orders. "Can I get a water?" he asked, though he figured that by now, it might make sense to just order everything at once. "I think we might be ready to order food too, though," he said, unsure of how the others felt, but figuring that it couldn't hurt to at least get his order in now. "So I'm just gonna get the oven-roasted turkey sandwich, please."

"Yum, that does sound good," Makayla responded, nodding thoughtfully at the description of the food that Collin was listing. She had no idea what the food was that Chanel claimed her mom made fantastically, but she didn't doubt that it was good. Makayla wasn't a picky eater, and given that she had eaten from sketchy food carts more times than she would admit when she didn't even have the excuse of being high, she was really willing to try anything. Trying new foods this trip sounded even more fun, because it would add to it being a trip of growth and newness, but of course, the idea of bringing Holly to a restaurant like that was laughable. Makayla didn't consider that they might have a children's menu with food that could appease Holly's taste buds because even if they did, she figured that that might bring down the vibe of the others who would be excited to immerse themselves in the themed food of the restaurant. Besides, with Holly's mouth, Makayla already could imagine the comments she would come up with about people eating lamb, or food having names that sounded odd to her. "I'll be eating macaroni and cheese and chicken fingers all trip with this one, so you can count me out, unfortunately," she said. "I'm somewhat offended that you've never introduced me to this food when we have our little late night hangouts though, Chanel," she added with a small smirk, at the vague (or maybe not so much) reference to how the girls would ocassionally end up smoking together at night in their apartment. "Leaving me binging on junk when you've got these secret food recommendations," she said, shaking her head in playful dismay.

The waitress came over then, and after Collin ordered for himself, Makayla figured that it was her turn. "Can I get the chicken pasta, and a Habanero Lime Martian Margarita, please?" she requested, already handing the woman her ID since she knew that that was coming, if Collin had made a point of asking Chanel to order his drink for him. Even if she was trying to not let it bother her, she couldn't help but note that she had just ordered a meal that cost thirty-six dollars total, not even counting tax or tip, Makayla had to imagine that the bill would come close to three hundred dollars after everything was paid. It was a staggering amount, a budget that was more than what she would spent on food in a month. Leaning forward, she decided to take some control over Holly's order too, before her sister had time to say something obnoxious. "So you're gonna eat the doughnut if you order that?" she said, gently squeezing Holly's shoulder to make her turn around. "Get that or the macaroni and cheese, but I know you're not gonna eat both, so you don't need to waste anything by ordering both," she advised. "And she'll just have a water," she said, speaking to the waitress then.

Collin was luckily that Holly had been distracted by the new movie clip that had just started on the film, or else she would have objected to him getting an Oreo drink with alcohol in it. It was lucky for her too, because she definitely would have heard from Makayla about any comments, for not minding her own business, but either way, the screen in front of the room was the only reason why she didn't have something to say about that, or the current conversation involving Moroccan food. The black and white film that was just starting was called "Attack of the Fifty Foot Woman", and just reading those words on the screen had Holly's expression changing to one of distaste and confusion. It quickly turned into a more amused one though, as she tapped Cara on the arm frantically. "They could make a sequel to this movie, if you and Chanel ever get into a fight, and it would be called 'Attack of the Fifty Foot Wo-men'!" she said with a laugh.

She only really tuned back in to what Chanel and the two behind them were talking about when she heard Collin offer to make a reservation for something tonight. Makayla declined, with Holly barely realizing that the reason behind it was related to her, since despite listening to what they were saying, her eyes were still focused on the screen. She was just able to pick up on how for those few seconds, it just seemed like Chanel and Collin were going somewhere together, and that made her smile. "I think Chanel has a crush on Collin," she whispered to Cara, her eyes wide with excitement. Even if it was something that was construed in her own head, it was still the juciest gossip that Holly would be exposed to today, and that in itself made her giggle. "And Collin has a crush on her," she added, even more excitedly, whispering still, but possibly at a volume that wasn't actually quiet. "And they'll get married and Collin will move into our apartment!" She was just about to turn to Chanel to ask her if that sounded like a good plan, when the waitress came over. Holly managed to remain quiet, waiting patiently as Collin and Makayla spoke to the girl, but when Makayla told her that she could only have a doughnut or macaroni and cheese, on top of ordering water for her, she had to frown. Makayla was right in that she wasn't going to finish a dessert and meal entirely, but that didn't mean that she didn't want a few bites from each to satisfy different cravings. "I would like the macaroni and cheese, and a Sprite in the Ariel cup, please!" she piped up, disregarding what Makayla said as she added, "And me and my new sister Chanel... because she's sharing a room with me this week... are going to get the doughnut please! She's healthy so you can leave the apples on it!" she insisted, before turning back to Makayla. "I'm not going to waste anything, I promise!" she reassured her. Already facing the back side of the car, she remembered that Brooklyn and Roman were with them. They had been quiet enough that coupled with everything going on in her booth and the one behind her, she had momentarily forgotten about them. An excited wave in their direction, despite not being that far away, was followed up with Holly turning to the waitress again to say, "That's Brooklyn and Roman back there! They're best friends but they're not dating because Brooklyn is really pretty."

There was no denying that Cara was a person who had the capability of being very petty when she felt like it. She could be sensitive, emotional, and dramatic, and sometimes all of that led to more petulant behavior that she wasn't proud of, but also found impossible to grow out of. She was just so used to getting her way that when she didn't feel like she was being completely supported, she somehow turned that into feeling like people were actually turning against her. She knew that in order for this vacation to be a success, she couldn't be a drama queen and she had to have patience, but she couldn't resist feeling annoyed when Chanel started so freely and kindly talking to her brother. Did she forget that he was a part of the problem? That he was actually the cause of the problem being here? Granted, they did seem to be behaving themselves, and as she had decided earlier, them sitting in the way back was the best possible scenario, but still. She wasn't going to let Collin's role in all of this go, and she didn't think Chanel needed to be acting this friendly to him either. If it had been Chanel who had suggested that they eat at the Moroccan restaurant in Epcot for dinner, then Cara would have enthusiastically been all for it. Simply because it was Collin, Cara pretended like she couldn't hear the conversation occurring right next to her, and focused on her menu. She wasn't going to chime in and offer her opinion on the restaurant when it was Collin who was somewhat leading the conversation. Absolutely not. Especially not when she knew that he knew that she wouldn't appreciate him trying to influence the plans of this trip that she organized.

She didn't have to respond to Holly's whispers about a mutual crush between Chanel and Collin (though it definitely didn't improve her mood), because the waitress had come over by that point, and everyone's attention was directed towards her. "I'm going to have a the Caprese sandwich, and the Magical Star Cocktail," she told the woman, handing her her menu. She had considered going with something lighter, maybe a glass of wine or a beer, but with how unnecessarily dramatic she could feel herself getting, rum seemed like a necessity. She wished that she wasn't like this. She wished that she could be as carefree and easy going as Chanel was, where things just seemed to roll off of her back. She wished that she didn't have an internal need for control, at least over this trip, because she didn't think of herself as being a controlling person in general. She just felt pressured, like if this trip failed, it would be her fault. Somehow, she couldn't see that maybe relinquishing control and forcing some of the responsibility onto Collin (or more accurately, letting him take the control that he was taking), could actually ease her from some of that pressure. She was too anti-him at the moment to think logically about it, and so the easiest reaction in her mind was to shut down to an extent, and not engage in anything that involved him, or anyone who was treating him decently. It was a childish case of "but you're supposed to be my friend, not his", but Cara didn't really care.

"And if you guys would excuse me," she said, setting her menu down as she looked to Holly and Chanel who were blocking her way out of the booth, "I'm going to go use the bathroom."

Chanel had fortunately missed Holly's gossiping, as she quickly looked through the menu again as everyone delivered their orders to the waitress. In the back of her mind, she thought she might have heard her name, but not so surely that she lifted her face from the menu. She did, however, hear Holly's declaration for donuts, despite Makayla telling her otherwise. "Could you come back to me, please?" she said through a light chuckle at Holly's slight towards Roman. She wanted to glance to the back booth, but knew it would be too obvious. Since she didn't hear what Cara had ordered, she leaned over to ask the girl, but she was already trying to exit the booth. When Chanel had finally settled again, this time where Cara had been sitting, and it was her time to order, she'd thankfully settled on her food, but had to take another second to look at the drinks. "Could I do the onion rings for an appetizer...The, uh...falafel burger, as well as the Orbiting Oreos, and uh," she trailed off, chewing on the side of her nail, slightly embarrassed before she glanced back at the waitress. "Long Island Lunar Tea?" Her tone suggested that she thought the woman might tell her no, but she only cared about seeing Chanel's ID, and not the amount of food she'd ordered.

"Ooh. Look at you." She grinned mischievously at Makayla for ordering a drink, her suggestive eyebrows wiggling. Chanel didn't consider that with the restaurant being fashioned like a 1950's outdoor movie, she probably wasn't supposed to be talking so much, but the movie itself didn't look that interesting, and it wasn't dead silent to where she felt like she would be disturbing anybody. She folded her arms along the back of the booth, resting her chin atop. "I want to get you drunk tonight." Mainly she just needed an excuse to get tipsy during the trip, because she really was trying to unwind, but it would be fun to see Makayla completely wild. She'd missed the Thanksgiving fiasco, and while Cara had given her the Sparksnotes version, since she hadn't personally seen it first hand, it easily slipped her mind. "We all should go. It'd be fun. Like one of those group bonding things they make you do in school, except instead of learning about leadership and communication skills, we learn how to take shots straight and about the importance of not breaking the seal." To someone more logical, it was a disaster plan. Bad things happened when you got terribly drunk. You ended up kissing someone you weren't supposed to, or doing and/or saying something you'll later regret, and what was worse, you wouldn't remember it. Getting along for a night wouldn't seem worth it if by morning time it was unbearably awkward should anything go too far left. Chanel didn't consider the possible consequences. It was already easy for her to bond with people, and while she could fathom people not being identical to her in that aspect, she couldn't fathom anyone not being at least a little more social and fun when they'd had enough drinks in them, coupled with the right energy, and some good music. Even if you told her it was a bad idea, she'd still say that they all probably deserved to get drunk. She didn't know all of their history or baggage, nor did she care enough, but she knew everyone had something about them, and what better way to let loose than to embrace your sins and vices? She knew she sounded like an alcoholic, but she chalked that up to her personality and how she could talk about anything and sound like a fanatic.

The mere suggestion was a clear indicator that she hadn't picked up on Cara's dislike of her conversing with Collin so coloquially,
especially since she'd just agreed with Cara earlier that Brooklyn and Roman were his to watch out for. But, to be fair, she'd also told the girl to play nice. Even still, she clearly didn't think that being friendly would rub Cara the wrong way, and she didn't notice the girl's annoyance since she'd made it pretty discreet. Had she known, she probably wouldn't have suggested everyone go out tonight, but if her mind was already set on it at the time, she would have gone ahead, but just said that it was part of the fun of the vacation. They couldn't ignore everyone the entire trip. "Aww, but you'll have to stay home and watch Disney Channel with Holly," she said teasingly, pouting her lips at Collin. She didn't think that Collin had a fake with him, because if he did, then she wouldn't have to order a drink for him. She knew that a place like Disney would be hellbent on ID checking with so many young kids roaming about. She also correlated having a fake with something she'd do--which she did--because it was rebellious and against the rules, something that, in her mind, directly conflicted with Collin. It wasn't that Collin was a saint by any means, nor was he so innocent and un-blameable, like Holly was, but since she had younger brothers herself, and always liked to feel more above them than she was by viewing them as more baby-like, she did the same with Collin. His personality assisted perception, as he seemed quite chill and docile, though next to Cara, anyone who didn't argue with her constantly probably seemed that way as well. Her next comment furthered her view of him, and his sister, who she knew was into partying and going out like she was. Because her own brother was quiet and pretty friendless, she subconsciously correlated that to Collin as well. "I wonder if your sister knows any good places to go. You think they'd be down?" She lowered her voice, motioning her head to the two in the back. The anticipation of her food and drink, along with the charge she got whenever she was having a nice chat with good people, kept her from having any limitations. Roman and Brooklyn had been behaving for the past few minutes, so she didn't feel the immediate need to cast them out either. Coupled with the mere prospect of having a night out, and on the very first day, she was reaching in the truest sense of the word. Finally, she did take a step back though, as her face shifted from excitement to that of a light bulb moment, concerned mixed in. "Wait," she said, looking towards Makayla. "You'd be down, right?"

Even if no one else noticed it, Collin knew his sister too well than to believe that she was simply being quiet because she was looking that intently at the menu, or at the movie playing. Cara always had something to say, and she had been to the Moroccan restaurant just as many times as he had, so she had just as much to contribute to the conversation as she did. He knew that she was pissed off about something, and he knew that there was a good possibility that it had to do with him (since when did it not?). He wouldn't have been shocked if before she returned from the bathroom, his phone went off with some message from her about how he was ruining the trip for a new reason, even though he felt like he was only being positive and friendly. Like he had told Cara with Brooklyn, he also felt like the best thing for himself to do was to ignore Cara. She could act like the child she truly was, but he wasn't going to feed into it any more than necessary.

"Hey, hey, hey," Collin said with caution, as if Chanel was unfairly jumping to conclusions when she teased that he would have to stay back at the room with Holly due to being underage. "I forgot my ID in the room, but I'll be fine tonight once I'm prepared. Just didn't think that I needed to be ready this early in the day, since I figured my sister was the only alcoholic of the group, but clearly I was wrong," he responded, just as playfully, even though it wasn't a fair accusation since he had been the first one to talk about ordering an alcoholic drink. "But... I think they'd be down. I guess I could be the one to ask them, since Cara's already going to disown me after this vacation, so taking the blame for this won't make things much worse for me," he added. He knew that including Brooklyn and Roman in a night of drinking was asking for Cara to kill him, and it was possible that including them would even stress him out to a point of wanting to kill himself, but if he had alcohol in him, he figured that it wouldn't be that bad. It couldn't be. Or so he hoped. "You know what, though," he continued with a smirk, "I feel like you should be the one who ends up watching Disney Channel with Holly. Like she said, you're her new sister, and I'm sure Makayla needs to cool down. Makayla and I can get our Moroccan food and get drunk with the rest of them while you enjoy some good old 'Jessie'," he challenged playfully.

Chanel had such a good energy to her. It was admirable, especially since even it if was faked sometimes, she did a good enough job with it that Makayla never really noticed. She had a positive energy about her that was contagious and mood-lightening, and combined with this more playful side of Collin that she had never really seen, it was helping Makayla feel more comfortable and at ease too. She rolled her eyes, laughing as Chanel commented on her getting a drink, but waited to speak, and instead listened as Chanel and Collin teased each other. Luckily, even with Cara gone, Holly was content with doing her own thing. Makayla glanced over at her every minute or so, and was happy that the girl seemed focused on coloring for now. Though no one seemed to really mind Holly, she also knew that everyone had to appreciate being able to have a normal, non-G rated conversation every now and then too. Even with Holly inches away, they probably all realized by now that if Holly wasn't paying attention, she really wasn't paying attention. Her mind did its own thing, and now that it was focused on the coloring sheet on the table, Makayla imagined that there were a million things on Holly's mind that would come before tuning in to the conversation they were having beside her, even if her name did come up. That was why she rolled her eyes once more when Collin countered Chanel's claim that he would end up in the hotel watching Disney Channel with Holly since they were both underage, with him insisting that Chanel deserved to take that role. "And you were the one to sugar her up..." Makayla added jokingly, as if it was one more reason for why Chanel deserved to be the one dealing with Holly once they all went out.

Before Makayla to insist that she was joking and that she would definitely stay back with Holly if that was what it came to, Holly spun around suddenly, holding the coloring sheet in her hand. "Guys, guys, guys! I'm going to make this alligator red and blue instead of green like he should be!" she said, pointing to the partially colored cartoon character on the page.

"Go for it, Holl," Makayla answered, trying to sound enthused, but probably falling a bit short. She was tempted to correct her for interrupting, but figured that it would be futile, and an example of picking the wrong battle to fight."You should add some polka dots. Make him fancy," she suggested, trying to do better then.

Holly frowned at that suggestion, giving Makayla a look suggesting that she was crazy. "Alligators don't have polka dots," she said, as if it was the most bizarre suggestion in the world, despite her color scheme for the character not being realistic either. She turned back around then, refocusing on finishing her picture.

"My bad," Makayla said, hands halfway raised in a show of innocence as Holly shot down her suggestion. She looked back to Chanel and Collin then, trying to remember where they had left off. "Ya girl does need a good drunk night though," she admitted with a laugh. "So yeah, count me in." She was sure that Holly would be asleep in bed by eight o'clock anyway. That was around her normal bedtime, and with all of the traveling and activity today, it seemed like an easy and attainable goal. There was always a chance Makayla's luck would screw her over, and Holly would find it impossible to sleep now that they were in a different setting than they were used to, but she hoped not.

Chanel covered her heart as her mouth fell agape, pretending that she was more shocked and offended than she actually was. "Is this how you treat people who break the law for you?" Makayla's add-in only made her exaggerate even more, as if having not one, but two of the quietest people in the group team up against her was just too much to handle. Chanel wanted to counter with how being forced to watch Jessie was cruel and unusual punishment, but she hadn't ever seen the show, although she doubted it warranted even as much as a glance since it seemed like the shows on that channel were just steadily going down hill. Even her childhood favorites, though, when she watched them as an adult, she could hardly tolerate the terrible, overplayed acting and cheap outfits. If it was true that the shows had only gotten worse, then she couldn't imagine trying to watch it at twenty-two years old. Chanel was on the verge of telling Collin that part of enjoying Moroccan food was eating it with your token Moroccan friend, but Makayla beat her to it, shifting the scope of the conversation back to where it had originally started. She closed her mouth before she slipped up by readily agreeing with the girl. Chanel didn't want to sound rude by essentially saying that she was the one needed to get drunk the most. So instead, she settled for a playful, empathetic scoff. "Girl, don't we all. I only need to remember half of this trip to feel satisfied, so I don't plan on holding back."

Chanel characteristically blew hot air, but this time she had something to back it up with, if her suitcase told any truth. She'd pack enough 'just in case' outfits to make someone think she wasn't visiting a place meant for children. But Chanel was the kind of person to feel like she'd missed out on a lifetime opportunity if she let the chance to go out slip by her. Despite still being in the middle of rebranding herself, there were many times where her 'old self' still leaked through, even when she didn't notice, not because she was oblivious to her actions, but because she didn't recognize it as being tied to her past. Just as being a mean girl was a part of her past, so was the inevitably linked partying. She didn't have parents like her other friends, who didn't discipline their kids at all and seemed to not know what to do with them half them. Sneaking out was something she tried once when she was fifteen, and she didn't even enjoy it because she was so afraid her parents would find out. Luckily they didn't, and she didn't plan on admitting to that until she was at least fifty, financially independent, and at least three states away from her dramatic parents. Still, though, while her party girl days weren't so extreme that she was blacking out every weekend, she was connected to the crowd that did, and was even envious back then that her parents were too strict to let her get away with doing such a thing. Of course now she appreciated it, but while her partying days had simmered down, it was mostly due to distance from the right people. Sure, there was no lack of a similar scene in one of the most vibrant cities in the world, but after separating from those people back home, she saw that her desire to always be out slowly dissipated, though not into complete oblivion.

She knew tonight the others weren't going to get as turnt as she would hope for in an ideal world, but she also didn't expect most people to try to keep up with her. Chanel knew how to feel out a crowd, and this definitely wasn't one that spelled blackout drunk, but still. That didn't mean she couldn't get there by herself, and by that point, it wouldn't matter how many drinks everyone else had because she'd be too far gone. In reality, Chanel didn't plan on getting so wasted at a place like Disney, but if she could even convince Cara to get drunk with her, then that would excite her enough to anticipate the night getting drunk the tad bit crazier. She didn't take into consideration that Cara more than likely wouldn't be nearly half as thrilled as Chanel was about tonight, even if it was just talk at this point. Even if Cara did say no, though, Chanel had already worked it up in her mind, even if it was in the span of just two minutes, to where she was determined to get at least one drink tonight, whether she had seven people or none. Humility wasn't her strong suit, and it was something that she was actively working on, but she couldn't pretend that she wasn't a fun person, especially a fun person to go out with. "Do these Magicband things work on drinks too? Because if so, that'll make getting a little woohoo that much easier." Before waiting too long for answer, her mind darted to something, and she pressed her palm out. "We're all getting shots together. It'll make for a super cute boomerang. You guys have to be serious though. I'll cry if we end up sitting in that hotel tonight. I feel like I haven't been out in forever," she said. "When's the last time you two went out? Or Makayla. I already know Collin can't hang," she said, not without sticking her tongue out, deciding that was her comeback for the earlier, long forgotten comment of his.

Because of the size of their party, Collin was only able to place a reservation for the restaurant that he and Chanel had spoke about at lunch at seven o'clock, no earlier. It wasn't too big of a deal, as they had eaten lunch at nearly two o'clock, and some had picked up snacks at the shops by the hotel, or poolside, once they were back on the boardwalk. Collin had helped himself to some mozzarella sticks at one of the food stands on the boardwalk, and enjoyed them while lounging poolside for a little while once they got back from Hollywood Studios. It was nice to be able to truly relax for a few hours, and he had even snuck in a short nap in the sun before going back to the room to get ready for their evening in Epcot. Even after eating some post-lunch food, once they had went on a few rides at Epcot, Collin was definitely ready for dinner. He had cleaned off the plate of chicken kebabs that he had ordered at Restaurant Marrakesh, even after having his fair share of appetizers before. He was surprised that things had worked out, with everyone coming to eat dinner too. He figured that by now, Roman and Brooklyn would want to do stuff on their own, or that Makayla and Holly would have eaten in the "America" section of the park. Despite this one being in Morocco, they still served chicken fingers, hamburgers and Moroccan styled pasta on the kid's menu, so then again, their presence wasn't all that shocking, since it was only Holly who would have kept Makayla from coming.

Though he had had beer with most of his dinner, Collin was now sipping down the last of the Marrakesh Express cocktail he had ordered a few minutes ago. Their waiter came over soon after he had finished it, placing a few dessert menus on the table and asking if anyone wanted refills while they finished their meals. Since Collin had finished his meal quickly, and as always, had room for more, he picked up a dessert menu. He didn't want to rush anyone, since it seemed like the others weren't finished yet, but he couldn't help himself. "Are bastillas good?" he asked Chanel, picking up his empty glass and contemplating calling the waiter over for a refill, even though he had initially declined. Since he had mostly been drinking beer, he was barely feeling tipsy, but he was sure that mixed cocktails like these would make him drunk much quicker. Still, he wasn't sure if he wanted to get drunk, so he decided against it. The night was still young, especially if Chanel really did want to party tonight. "And if you're not gonna finish that, I'll take it," he said, looking to his sister and her plate. If he was closer to any of the others, he would have insisted that they slide their plates his way too, at least to try a bite, but he was too polite and also too uncomfortable to do that with people he didn't know that well.[/font]

The day had been an excited and busy one for Holly. She went on a few rides after lunch, and saw a show or two, and they were all tame and easy ones that revived the excitement she had for the amusement parks. They managed to catch a few characters during their time at Hollywood Studios, so the entire walk home involved her talking about how lucky they were to meet the real Goofy and Buzz Lightyear. After that, she had insisted that Makayla come down to the pool with her, where she tried out the water slide that looked like you were coming out of the mouth of a clown literally close to twenty times. She was having a lot of fun, and in a fashion that was true to Holly, she wasn't taking a minute of it for granted. She was happy and easily excitable, which was nothing new for her, but was still sincere here. Between trying to catch every lizard that crossed her path, to talking to strangers whose clothes appealed to her, Holly was enjoying herself. And also tiring herself out, but that was something that she wouldn't notice until dinner was nearly over and the thought of staying awake for another hour to see the fireworks seemed impossible. She wasn't going to say that outright, because like a child, no matter how tired she was, she wasn't going to actually express that she wanted to go to bed and miss out on any fun, though.

The belly dancer performance in the restaurant had kept Holly captivated for a few minutes, but by the time it was over and dessert menus were being handed out, she was back to feeling antsy. There was still one chicken finger and a handful of french fries left on her plate, and she wasn't particularly hungry, but it also would have felt wrong to turn down ice cream once she read that it was listed as an option on the kid's menu desserts. "Can I get this?" she said, pointing it out to Makayla on the menu before looking across the table to Brooklyn with a more excited expression. "Brooklyn, do you wanna come back to the hotel with me soon? We can watch a movie and I'll pretend I'm Roman and sleep in your bed!" The idea of having to go back to the hotel with her sister seemed boring compared to getting to go back with Brooklyn. Holly's obsession with the girl was hard to explain, aside from simply saying that she thought the blonde was cool. She thought the same about Cara and Chanel, and that was why she hadn't been able to bombard Brooklyn too much yet this trip, but even compared to those girls, she had a special sort of desire to be around Brooklyn. "Ro! I'll let you have my last chicken finger if you let me switch beds with you! Do you like sleeping with girls, because Makayla's really good to sleep with!" she suggested, before adding, "Or you can sleep with Chanel! She loves company!"
