⚘Independence is a strength but someone can be too independent. Alice has a tough time trusting others to do things that involve her. She believes if you want something done properly you need to do it yourself and often that results in her not giving people the opportunity to prove themselves to her or the opposite disappoint her. This independence has a toll on her relationships also, how can a girl make friends when she's secretly reluctant to trust in anyone. Its not unknown that people take her persist need to take control negatively and in the wrong way. ⚘

Alice isn't the kind of girl you simply sum up in a few sentences. This girl went from being one person to another exponentially. After years of being confided by such a strict life-style and having another basically control her life Alice has made huge changes to herself as a person when she finally gained a release.
She still retains shards of her original persona. Alice is well spoken, sophisticated and has all the innate knowledge of an upper class socialite, however, this is where remnants of the old her end.
Finally she can speak her mind and no one has the right to scold her. Why should she care if they do? The world is Alice’s oyster and she’s only just begun to enjoy it. Since she has joined Clandestine and adjusted to her home away from home, Alice has stretched her wings more and more as the realization dawned upon her that she can do anything and be anyone which makes her personality a very difficult one to explain. Below are a few of her most prominent traits.
Superior
Alice has been brought up to feel she’s better than everyone else. After all, she belongs to a household who think they’re the royal family. Her Grandmother has embedded the knowledge of being a respectable, sophisticated woman into poor Alice since she was seven years old. No matter what happens there will always be that feeling of supremacy behind her actions. Her superior attitude is even more potent after being openly shamed by her grandmother.
Enigmatic
Alice keeps her guard up around new people and those she hasn't figured out. She still manages to appear mysterious to those who know of her though. Her smile holds so many unspoken things and her eyes hide intimate secrets. She naturally distances herself from others and looks in disdain at those who carry themselves like an open book. Being mysterious is not only sexy and intriguing but it’s also safe. People who know too much can use it against you, as time passes friends can just as easily become enemies and Alice would rather not have that intimacy if it means saving herself later. Beside's she likes being mysterious. It's better than some of the girls around these parts who practically search for someone, anyone, who will listen to them talk about themselves.
Persevering
As stubborn and determined as they come when she truly sets her mind to something. She’s incredibly focused and once she’s set a goal she’ll be damned if she doesn’t achieve it. If she also makes a decision or judgement, hell would have to freeze over to get her to change it. Someone with a true silver tongue would have to work on Alice day and night if she were ever to alter things she has already completely decided.
Naughty
Everyone has a little naughty in them and you'd be surprised to know Alice has a lot of mischief in her system. Alice's love of boys isn't of common knowledge. She never spent any real time with the opposite sex when living at home and so that was a simple but exciting experience alone when entering clandestine. She feels them to be forbidden, utterly mischievous and completely raw. You could say she has a small crush on the idea of a lady like herself outrageously spending time with members of the opposite sex. What would her grandmother think?
Alice comes across prim and proper to most and therefore most would be surprised to learn that she's the one tripping them up in the hall for making a snide remark. She's very revengeful I must say. She can be unexpectedly wild and adventurous too which is only more noticeable because of how she usually comes across to those who haven't yet cracked her thick onion skin.
The Overall Alice
She puts herself forward for new experiences and enjoys being within the fray of events. Alice drinks in new knowledge and embraces her life as a Witch appreciating the little things most of all. She has been known to be calculating and resourceful in tough situations. She's intelligent and at times calls upon a wisdom that should rightfully belong to a woman whose lived far more than one lifetime. Alice is brooding and judgmental. Her pride is the elephant in the room and it's the one thing that has and will always get her into trouble. When you peel her layers back you'll be surprised at what you could find.
Is she a good person overall? That is still to be said. Alice refuses to be influenced by others ever again but it’s only natural to be influenced by those around you. She’s a free spirit at the moment, neutral towards most things but highly judgmental. Alice is the kind of girl who could be both good and bad depending on what best suits her each passing day.

Alice throughout most of her young life lived between a large home in London and a manor house in the English countryside. In her earliest years she lived with her mother and father, Holly and Jonathan Podmore. Her family were very wealthy but this wealth came from her fathers side. They were a normal family living a comfortable if not lavish life style.
When Alice was five her father died in an avalanche whilst on a skiing holiday. It was understandably a terrible blow to the family but the worst was still yet to come. Holly was devastated by her husbands death and it became apparent she could barely deal with the loss. She drank horrendously and abused different substances to the point she signed Alice's care over to her Grandmother.
This would seem like a positive outcome in such a terrible situation but it certainly wasn't. Agatha all but forbade Alice's mother from having anything to do with her own child and intimidated the woman into thinking she was completely unfit to ever be a mother again. Alice was brought up by her grandmothers strict and distant ways. Alice grew up wondering why her mother could barely look her in the eye and suffering under the pressure to be perfect for her grandmother.
Agatha had always fancied herself royalty, the wealth had certainly gone to her head over the years and she imposed her illusions onto her granddaughter. Alice was to be a respectable, upper class lady of impeccable standards. She took lessons of all kinds, some being quite outdated in modern society which explains why Alice is such an oddball at times. While most children were climbing trees and playing in the mud, Alice was attending afternoon tea's and social gatherings. Ballroom dancing, etiquette, courting, reciting, posture, grace and poise it was all apart of Alice's daily rituals. Her Grandmother was a mean woman and the pressure on Alice mounted and mounted.
The day Alice found out she was a witch was the day everything went up in flames. Her grandmother supported the old ways of life, so magic was something that didn't exist and never got mentioned. Alice had experienced on a few occasions something strange but never suspected she was a witch until several invitations to magic schools including one from Clandestine arrived.
She didn't receive mail so her grandmother immediately opened it. Let's just say she thought the old hag was going to keel over and die in that very moment. Her face went as purple as a prune and then out of her mouth exploded reels of curses and obscenities. Agatha had the manor house in an uproar. Alice was completely unawares of what was occurring until her Grandmother started screaming about how there would be no witches in her family and that it was all Holly's fault. Faulty genes and what not. If only the dark ages were still here she'd toss in the match herself. Apparently Agatha Podmore didn't appreciate her perfect, self sculptured world being ruptured by anyone even her own flesh and blood.
That day was also the day Alice's mother said the most words Alice ever recalled her saying and they were words no lady should ever say. Alice and her mother quickly packed their things and fled Agatha's stately home before she set the house on fire with them inside. Alice ended up in London with her mother at a modest coffee shop where they sat and spoke in length like they never had before. Her mother brought them a small place just outside of London with the wealth she had left and helped Alice ready herself for a new chapter in her life.
Years of being molded by her grandmother were over. Alice was no longer an upper class lady living a rich sophisticated life. She felt like a runaway of sorts with nothing but the money tied up and left to her by her father which she couldn't access until aged twenty one. She was nothing more than Alice Delaney-Podmore.
