Description

Name: Terrence Walker

Age:34

Gender: Male

Race: Cyborg

Class: Trooper (Parts from black-market)

Occupation: ā€œSecurityā€ For the Nirvana Night Club

Appearance: http://media.giantbomb.com/uploads/7/74881/1415665-deus_ex_human_revolution_concept_art_11.jpg Standing at 6ā€™1ā€ and weighing around 280 lbs (chiefly due to the high density of his synthetic arms). No battle form.

Clothing: Work clothes are a black suit with a black tie, and black leather gloves and black dress shoes. (Wears a bullet proof vest under his shirt). Casual clothes includeā€¦..well, he doesnā€™t really get out much casually. If he did he would most likely wear a leather jacket or something, with dark colored pants (like in the picture).

Weapons: Carries a twelve shot black-market pistol and has strength enhanced cybernetic arms. He also has a military grade assault rifle in his apartment that was given to him by his boss in case things ever got real hairy (can be seen in appearance picture.)

Modifications: Most of his modifications are black market and military grade. Both arms are fully cybernetic with sub-dermal integration into his collar bone area. They are military grade and enhance strength to basic Trooper levels. Light cybernetic integration in the section of the brain associated with motor-skills, along with adrenal enhancements for increased reaction time. Brain and adrenal modifications are military grade designed to increase capacity with fire-arms without training. Light reconstructive and reinforcement cybernetic modifications to the upper spinal column and neck. Left lung is replaced with a cybernetic one. Lower body past the abdomen is natural, with the exception to the affects of the adrenal modifications, which slightly increase muscle and bone density.

Personality: Cynical, depressed, cold, and serious. Terrence doesnā€™t engage in pleasantries, he has long lost the care for pleasing other people. He hardly even works toward pleasing himself. He really seems to have no real reason for living, at least not one he can think of. He somehow keeps on going though, perhaps through instinct, perhaps through the military cybernetics that are now make of part of his brain. Defiantly not one for lengthy conversation. Drinks and smokes, consciously trying to forget the deaths of his wife and daughter, subconsciously trying to slowly kill himself. Though a lot of good it will do in this day an age.

Despite his depression, self loathing, self pitying, and self destructive habits, Terrence is not a ā€œbadā€ person. He can connect with the plights of others and feel sympathetic of them. He wouldnā€™t hurt an innocent, but good luck finding one where he works. He is also quite good at remaining professional, and has colossal amount of patience. He doesnā€™t tend to bear people much ill will either, he tends to save that for himself. If someone tries to hurt him, he will defend himself, but he will probably be rather indifferent toward them. However, when he is in a fight or his life is in danger, he seems to feel a little bit better. Perhaps the chance of dying reminds him that he is still alive.

Background: Terrence grew up in a happy middle class family. His parents were intellectuals that had both clawed themselves out of the gutter, so they stressed the importance of schooling and knowledge. They also were kind people that instilled good values in their son. They also, didnā€™t think too kindly about cybernetic enhancement. Thought that it too easily exploited the lower class. Terrence grew up with a fairly normal and relatively uneventful childhood. He graduated high-school with high honors and went to college in the big city to study to become a surgeon.

His time through college was also nothing incredibly special, other than the regular hardships that came with becoming a surgeon. His mother passed away when he was in graduate school, but he grieved and got over it. When he was close to graduating, he met a woman named Sophia that was a middle school teacher. They both had similar views on staying away from cybernetic enhancements. They fell in love and got married soon after Terrence had completed his education. They decided to move to Daedalus after Terrence got a job offer at a new charity hospital that had been built in the lower income area of the city. It was for people who could not afford many cybernetics, and were mostly human. Terrence had been influenced by his parentā€™s sense of social responsibly and wanted to give back to the community. Sophia supported him fully, his want to help others was one of the reasons she married him.

During the next year in Daedalus, they settled into their new lives. Soon after they had a child, a girl whom they named Lillea. Their lives became quite good for a time. Then, when Terrence was 30, a upper citizen who had been in a accident in the area showed up at the hospital where Terrence worked. Terrence was the one to operate on the woman. He tried his best, but he was simply unable to save her. His specialty was largely based in human anatomy and the woman had quite a few luxury cybernetics. The husband of the woman, pressed charges on Terrence for incompetence. Somehow the charges made it into the court systems.

Terrence and his family were financially drained by the suit. The wealthy manā€™s lawyer was a master at his craft and Terrence had to pay a large reparation. The hospital that he had worked at even fired him to try and keep up their shiny public image. After that, no one would touch the young surgeon. Terrence became distraught by the fact that he could not support his family and turned to a loan shark for money. He slipped further and further away from Sophia in his distress over what had happened. One day she demanded to file for divorce, she was extremely disturbed and concerned at how he owed a lot of money to a criminal. She feared for the well-being of Lillea, who was now six. Eventually Sophia left and took Lillea with her.

Terrence spent the next year working extremely hard to get his life back together. He even managed to make quite a large dent in debt. He begged Sophia to take him back. One night, after what seemed like forever to Terrence. He and Sophia reconnected on an emotional level. She began to believe in him again. Terrence was beyond ecstatic that he would be reunited with his family. They decided to go out and have a big dinner with Lillea to celebrate.

On the way to the restaurant, they were hit by a car that malfunctioned. Terrence woke up in a dingy that had some hospital equipment. He was quickly approached by a scruffy old man that told Terrence he had been in an accident. Terrence had been the only survivor, the man told Terrence that he was very lucky. Terrence, was too shocked to respond. The man said the hospital had refused to treat him because of his lack of insurance. The old man revealed that he was a freelancing doctor of cybernetics that worked for the man who Terrence owed money to. Terrence couldnā€™t really process everything at the moment, but eventually he came to understand what happen.

The man who he owed money too was a big shot in the illegal cybernetics business. When he had found out about Terrenceā€™s accident and vegetable state in the hospital that refused to treat him, he had seized an opportunity. One of the thugs that defended his main hideout had recently been killed, and he had also gotten a shipment of new military grade cybernetics parts. So he decided to give Terrence a second chance at life out of the kindness of his heart. Now Terrence would work of his new debt (The cost of the cybernetics) as the manā€™s new employee.

Terrence slipped into a deep depression. He had lost his wife and his six year old daughter and it seemed like he had nothing to live for. He contemplated suicide, but could never bring himself to actually end it all. So he just went along with his new bosses plan.

Two years later he is simply existing, he really doesnā€™t know what keeps him going. He doesnā€™t get out much apart from his job, which takes up a lot of his time. When he does have free time, he spends it drowning himself in whiskey and secretly hoping that the cigarettes will give him cancer. Though his boss would probably just have his human lung replaced anyways.

The only thing he seems to take solace in these days is the blues and the occasional combat that comes with his job. Maybe itā€™s just the military cybernetics, but when he is in danger is the only time that he seems to want to keep on living.

So begins...
