Benjamin keeps a small wooden cross attached to a string around his neck
History
Basic history: Benjamin was the proud owner of a small town movie theatre, he had wife and a daughter. Benjamin grew up in a religious family so he made his family go to church four days a week. Although he was religious, Benjamin had a great appreciation for cinema and played every movie, no matter how gory. Benjamin and his wife Emily had marital problems and Emily left with their newborn daughter Samantha. Benjamin never saw them again and kept himself locked away in house, only leaving to operate his movie theatre. Benjamin began to believe god was angry at him for playing movies that depicted violence, so that is why his family left. Benjamin was looking for a way to find redemption, literally looking. He spied on all his neighbors and he saw acts of all seven deadly sins from them and declared them to be demons in disguise. He soon would take action against them which got him admitted into an asylum.
Reason for admission: Accused his entire block of being an the generals of Satan's armies, tried to hose down everyone's houses in "holy water" and accidentally causes an electrical fire in one of the homes and 2 houses burn down, 4 people died.

Benjamin walked into the asylum for the first time. He didn't understand why he was put in here, he did not understand why others failed to see that he was ridding the Earth of demons. He was distraught by this and he figured that the people that committed him into the asylum were also demons, they were trying to make him look like he was crazy. Benjamin believed that he was perfectly sane and although that he killed were by accident he believed that their murder was the will of god. He had accidentally caused an electrical fire by dousing houses in "holy water" and he had killed four people in the incident. Benjamin couldn't trust anyone the doctors, nurses, or patients, they could all be demons.
Benjamin reluctantly waited in and waited to be greeted by the people who wanted to hold him here. Benjamin kept a small cross around his neck and it was the only thing he refused to let go of when he entered the asylum, accusing the "demons" of wanting to rob him of his faith in god.

Lola walked into the asylum for the first time. She had to be dragged into the building by 5 people. "I will not go into there!" She yelled. "You must be crazy if you think i'm going in there!"
As she began to be dragged, she stopped in the middle of the doorway. Giving everyone she saw a hateful stare. Stupid, Nuts, Ugly, Anorexic, Fat. She began judging people already in her head. "Is there a TV here?" She yelled really loud; towards this one door. The door she saw was attracting her. Pulling her in, like she was connected to it. She sprinted into the door, then opened it. Inside she saw people. People taking medicine. "No. They must be NUTS if they think i'd take that shi-" She got cut off, by a boy. A boy who walked in behind the draggers. He had a cross around his neck. She walked back to see him, closer up, without him knowing she took notice to him.
"Uh- Hi." She said to the greeting person, biting her lip. Then she looked up at the boy she saw for a second. Then back down to the greeter.

Benjamin was still staring at the people around him, waiting for a "demon" to make a move on him. He had been stroking the cross around his neck for protection, but a burst through the door startled him. He stood perfectly still, peering from the corner of his eye. He saw someone eye him up and down. "This demon is trying to look at my soul" he though to himself. He watched as she walked towards the "demon" in the front and conversed with it. Benjamin had the feeling that this was the demon that was assigned to take his soul. He decided that he would keep a close eye on her for the remainder of his stay until an angel rescued him from this place or at least that's what he thought would happen.

Lola felt strange around him. She felt.. different. She looked up at the boy and smiled. "Hi..." She said to him as she bit her lip. She got so nervous around boys.
She wondered if he thought she was weird. He probably thinks i'm dumb because i just randomly started talking to him. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes. She thought of everything she's ever done before. Why didn't i ever feel like this before?
Then someone caught her eye... She saw his spiky hair first. It was adorable.

The "demon" had greeted Benjamin and he decided that he would use this "demon" as leverage to escape this "fake" asylum. "Hi there" Benjamin said with a false smile "...I assume you already know who I...I mean my name is Benjamin, pleased to meet you" Benjamin knew that such trickery and conversation with demons would get him in trouble. In the back of his mind he knew he would get no sleep because he would be up all night praying for god's forgiveness. He hesitantly stuck his hand out to the girl, with the same false smile.

"Oh well I'm new here and de..."he caught himself and pretended to clear his throat "sorry about that, I was saying that girls make me tense up" As Lola shook his hand, he saw her take a deep breath. He figured this was a reaction she had gotten for coming in contact with a man who as religiously devout as him. "You don't look so good yourself, Lola." he said as he gave a fake worried look.

Benjamin strolled away from the area he'd been in, to a wall. Making sure no one was looking he read the note, while pretending to cross his arms. A new thought had occurred to Benjamin, this is could be an actual normal person. "Why would a demon need to write in secrecy to meet up with him" he thought to himself. Benjamin now had someone he could trust and he felt a bit safer in the institution he had just arrived in. He looked around at the people, he had not spoken to one doctor or orderly yet, he figured the demons were afraid of his cross. Benjamin leaned against a wall counting the seconds til five minutes had passed, keeping a watchful eye on those around him.

Benjamin looked left and right to make sure no one was looking. "I know you're normal, I could tell" he said quietly. "All these people here...the doctors, nurses, orderlies, and even some of these patients are all conspiring against us. We don't belong here and they know it. If your in here that means you've seen something they don't want you to see." He looked around and then leaned to Lola's ear and whispered "We've got to break out of hear"

"Demon magic!" Benjamin shouted as he picked her up and headed towards the room he was told that was his earlier. Hoping that no one had chased after him when he picked up Lola he had walked into the room that was assigned his and he laid her on the small bed. He closed the door behind him. He got on his knees quickly, by the bed that Lola laid in and he began praying. He prayed that the evil magic would be removed from her. He gripped his cross hard in his determined faith.

"You passed out, I suspect the demons did it to you with their evil magic. I carried you away to this room I assigned to and I prayed for you to come back and now here you are" he said smiling at her, feeling that he was responsible for saving her. "Luckily no one followed us, I think they're afraid of my cross" he said while holding the cross in his hand.

"Thank you." She said smiling, as she stood up and then hugged him. She nodded, without letting go. Then when she let go, she looked up, and said "Without you, i couldn't have woke up. You saved me.." Lola blinked her big brown eyes a few times, and then she heard someone crying. "I don't think that's why they didn't follow us!" She said, as she heard a talk about someone named Terry.

Benjamin felt Lola hug him, he hadn't been hugged in a long time, so it was refreshing for him. He smiled a bit, and he felt that someone like her had to be purely good, just like he thought he was.
"Then what do you think it was?" He raised an eyebrow to her in curiosity

Benjamin looked at her confused. "Why are you yelling? All these people are demons, you're wasting your breath" he said but he heard what Lola was talking about. He figured Lola had been traumatized by demons outside of the asylum

At that moment Benjamin realized that this woman, although innocent and pure was in fact mentally ill. He gave a disappointed stare towards her, knowing that he could not help a crazy person escape. He wanted to leave her there, but she was still the purist thing in the facility so he felt bad for her when she started crying. Benjamin took Lola's hand "just calm down Lola" he said in a calm voice

Benjamin felt Lola's pain and actually forgetting about the demons he kneeled next to her. He hugged her, bringing her head to his chest. "Shhhh" everything is going to be alright. He felt something strange on Lola's hand, it felt like a scar, he didn't look at it because consoling Lola was more important to him at the moment. He felt like he had to protect Lola since she was the only pure thing here, she was almost sacred to him.

Still holding Lola in his arms he looked at the situation he found himself in. He now felt responsible for Lola and when he escaped he couldnt leave her here with the demons. "Lola I'm taking you out of here with me" he as he closed his eyes. At this point Benjamin didnt want to let go.

Benjamin quite relaxed, leaned against a wall with Lola still in his arms. He wanted to scout the asylum more, but he wanted to protect Lola from the demons even more. It would now be much harder for Benjamin to escape. Feeling something in his gut, he kissed Lola on the forehead by instinct and laid back against the wall. He placed his closest hand on the cross he wore around his neck.

Benjamin looked at Lola when she asked if he was alright "I don't know, I wanted to get out of here, but with you...like this...I don't feel like moving" Benjamin looked into her eyes and really looked at her for the first time. It was the first time he saw her not as a demon, but as a human, really seeing her in a new light. "How about you? Are you okay?" Bemjamin asked her.

Deena heard sobs coming from a room close by and froze. She heard a girl yelling, and wondered if her screams had put someone else into a fit. "Hello? Is anyone in there?" She knocked once on the door and then stood back. She was still feeling a little unstable, and her brother's voice took advantage of that to fill her mind with images of his death. More tears ran down her face as she tried to push the images away. "Someone help... Please..."

Benjamin rose up immediately as the door burst in. "Get back you demon!" he said as he held his cross to the woman who had came in the door. He noticed that a girl behind the woman who kicked in the door. She was just outside of the room crying. She figured the demon had done something to hurt her and she was another innocent victim of this facility. He stood in front of Lola remembering that he had to protect her. "Release the innocent one behind you" he commanded as he pointed to the girl outside of his room crying.
