Lucas Roark

Lucas sighed in contentment as he rolled over in his bed. He was in a really good mood. He had had a good run last night in his true form, had thoroughly enjoyed being able to be himself without being worried about hurting someone. He was pretty good at controlling himself now. And, to make everything better, he was supposed to spend the day with-

"Brian!" he exclaimed, popping up in the bed and shooting a look to his alarm clock. It was blinking 12:00 so he had no idea what time it really was, but he knew he was late.

He jumped up, tossing his blanket messily on the floor. He was only wearing his boxer-briefs so he rushed to his dresser and pulled out the first shirt he grabbed. He pulled on a pair of shorts and ran into his bathroom to brush his teeth, grateful he had taken a shower before he went to sleep. He pulled on his tennis-shoes, without socks, as he ran down the stairs. Which, by the way, took considerable skill.

As he ran into the kitchen to go out the door, he almost barged into his mother. Yes, he still lives with his parents, not that he's not trying to get out though. His mom is just very clingy and won't let go.

"Where's the fire?" the petite woman questioned with a laugh.

"Oh," Lucas replied, trying to catch his breath. "Just over slept. I think I need a new alarm clock."

"Or maybe you should learn how to take care of the one you've got."

He chuckled. "Or I could do that." He pulled her into a hug and kissed her cheek before he walked past her to the door. "I'm hanging out with a friend today. I'll let you know when I'll be back."

"Which friend?" the woman called after him as he left.

"Just a friend!" he replied, taking off at a jog. If he didn't have his werewolf abilities he might have stolen- well, borrowed- the car, but he could get to Brian's just as easily by running. Plus, he knew how sexy he looked with a light sheen of sweat, and maybe he was hoping to make a good impression. He grinned widely at the thought of seeing Brian. He was pretty sure it was going to be a good day.

He reached Brian's house and was about to knock on the door when he heard voices in the garden. He peeked around the side of the house and saw Brian talking to Katie, a very nice Kit. If she were a boy he might have been jealous, but he smiled brightly and made himself known. "Sorry I'm late," he said.

Katie heard a new voice, and swiveled her gaze. Eventually she saw Lucas. She hardly knew him, even though they had both lived in the valley since birth. "'Sup?" She replied. Ever since going to live in New York, she had picked up on the normal human talk. It suited her quite well. She never overdid it, and thought it made her appear more outgoing and fun.

"Sounds good." Katie said to him as she continued to sit on the bench, trying to get a seed unstuck from her teeth with her tounge. But it sounded more like, "Thoundth good." She knew it sounded ridiculous, but she didn't care. After all, everyone had an embarrassing moment sooner or later. For her, it tended to be later rather than sooner, but that was beyond the point.

Once the offending seed had been lassoed by her tounge, she spat it out at the dirt. So what if it was un-lady like? Last she checked, she never really had been girly. All thoughts of what people thought of her vanished as she shifted her attention to the two boys. She would just wait for Brian to come back.

The sky had darkened and then cleared once more. Well... That was the weather around here. Watching Katie go, he waved her off and grabbed Lucas by the arm and pulled him inside, giggling softly.

"I shouldn't even let you have dinner, you lazy git!"

Lucas Roark

Lucas smiled as he was dragged into the house. When Brian threatened him he tried to look scared. "Please feed me!" he exclaimed. "Your cooking is my favorite, and I haven't eaten all day!"

He loved Brian's house; despite how cliche it sounded, the place felt like home. But he was sure that it wasn't the house itself, it was Brian. He was sweet and wonderful, and Lucas could be himself with Brian. He didn't have to hide who he was or what he liked. In Brian's house, they could be Brian and Lucas, the couple. No one there to judge them or anything.

Lucas didn't like having Brian the "just a friend" guy. He didn't like keeping Brian a secret, but he was too scared to do anything about it. His heart wanted him to be honest and brave, but his head held him in check. It was infuriating. He wanted to change, he did, but he always convinced himself not to.

On a serious note, when they got inside, Lucas pulled Brian close. "I missed you," he said, his voice falling an octave in pleasure for something as simple as seeing the other teen again after only a day or two.

When he was inside, Brian smiled as Lucas pulled him close. Wrapping his arms around the small of Lucas's back, he nuzzled into the taller mans chest, letting everything soak into him. His scent, his touch... Everything that was Lucas.

"I miss you too, Luc." He murmured, smiling as he leaned up to place a warm and welcoming kiss on Lucas's cheek. "Welcome home."

His home was pretty, and he was proud of it. The gardens on the outside seemed to mirror the interior of the inside. Everything was a warm color; from the pretty off-white walls, the the granite counter tops of the kitchen. He had worked hard to get the house the way it was, and adored it when people felt at home.

"C'mon," He urged, pulling his boyfriend towards the kitchen. "How does Breakfast-for-lunch sound?"

Lucas grinned. "Breakfast sounds wonderful," he replied. He hoped his stomach didn't growl as loud as he thought it did. "But you know I'll eat anything you cook."

Not that he would ever tell his mom this, but Brian's cooking was almost better than hers. And it really worked out because he could always eat; blame it on the wolf inside.

"I really am sorry about being late," he said. "I was having a very nice dream when I woke up and saw my alarm clock wasn't working. I ran over here."

Brian smiled, gave his boyfriend another kiss on the cheek, and walked over to the kitchen.

"Alright. One Lucas Breakfast coming up~!" He teased, before bustling about the kitchen. He grabbed eggs from the fridge, pancake mix, and all the other necessary breakfast ingredients he would need. Cooking was always fun, and he enjoyed doing it. And thanks to his job up at the dinner, his skills had improved immensely.

After about thirty minuets, his large oak table had been set and a few platefuls of food sat ready for Lucas. There was a three-cheese omelet, a plate of lightly-seasoned hashbrowns, a stack of Pumpkin Pie pancakes, a small bowl of fresh fruit and cream, and a cup of warm tea; Brian's own blend.

"Breakfast is ready!"

Lucas watched his boyfriend bustle about the kitchen. It was very entertaining... and cute. Very cute.

He smiled as he watched the table fill up with delicious smelling food. "Yes!" he cheered when Brian announced that it was ready. He sat down and looked around, not knowing what he wanted first... That omelette looked delicious... He pulled it closer and took a bite. Yes. Definitely delicious. "You're amazing, you know that?"

Brian smiled, blushing lightly at the compliment before he took a seat next to Lucas.

"Nah, I just know what you like~" He giggled, resting his head on his hands as he watched his boyfriend patiently.

Lucas Roark

Lucas stuffed his face for a moment before he stopped himself. Dang... I probably look like a pig... But it's so good... He took a deep breath and took a very neat bite of his food, a relatively small one that at least allowed him to look like he had some manners. "You're not eating?" he questioned, taking another neat bite.

He was pretty sure that if he were in his true form his tail would be wagging; he didn't notice that his tail actually did decide to reveal itself. He thought it was metaphorical. It was also like another limb so he didn't even really pay any attention to it.

"No, I already ate darling it's fi-...."

Brian cut his sentence short as his eyes glanced to the now wagging tail behind Lucas. Attached to Lucas. Was it, though? Or was it another one of his brief eyes-go-nuts episodes... Reaching over, he gave the furry thing a gentle poke.

"Um, sweetheart?"

Lucas froze mid-chew when Brian reached over and touched his tail. He at least swallowed his food before letting his mouth drop open. He looked at his own tail in surprise, much like Brian was doing. He didn't he could do that.

"Heh heh..." he chuckled lightly. "Um..." How did he get it to go away? "I need to go to the bathroom." He stood up hurriedly and ran down the hall to the bathroom. He closed and locked the door behind him, grabbing his tail and staring at. "Go away," he tried. "Shoo." He sighed and dropped it, closing his eyes and concentrating. He didn't know if it worked until he looked and noticed that his backside was tail-free. "Yes!" he cheered. He would need to keep an eye on that.

He left the bathroom and rejoined Brian. "Sorry about that," he said. "You already ate?"

(I wasn't sure if Brian knows he's a werewolf or not! Does he?)

(Yeah, I think he does. He's just never seen him shift before)

Brian smiled, letting out a soft laugh as his flustered boyfriend ran from the room. Life around here was never dull, no matter how hard they tried to be normal. Lucas was a werewolf, Brian knew that. He had known for a while now. Closing his eyes, Brian smiled as he recalled the day.

It had been a sunny day, and the boys had been "dating" about a month. Brian had been trying to get Lucas to try and come out to his parents, and today they were going to practice. To help with the excersise, Brian told Lucas about his secret life as a dancer and the costumes he had (later he would have shown him), and in return, Lucas told him he was a werewolf.

It was definatly a weird relationship; and Brian did have to make a few changes to his home to accomodate him, but he didn't mind at all. His eyes opened again as Lucas reappeared, this time tail free. Standing, he walked over as Lucas took a seat and claimed his lap, sitting there with an innocent smile.

"Yes, I nibbled while I gardened."

Lucas smiled when he got a lap-full of boyfriend. "Nibbled?" he questioned. "I need to teach you how to eat," he continued with a laugh. "Fatten you up." He wrapped his arms around Brian's waist and pulled him closer.

He never felt this happy unless he was with Brian... And he wanted so badly to share this with his family. He wanted to share his happiness with everyone! But... It was so hard! It shouldn't be so hard; he had to tell his parents he was a werewolf which hadn't been as scary as he thought it was going to be. In fact, it was weird because his mom already knew... But this was way more difficult...

One day...

Brian smiled, resting his forehead against Lucas's.

"Hey!" He jeered, gently nuzzling into his boyfriend. "I need to keep this... girlish figure." He laughed, giving a little wiggle as he motioned to his body. "Besides, I have to save everything else for the party tomorrow..." His thought trailed off as he looked down for a moment.

"I assume you'll be bringing a date if your parents come?" He asked. That had happened last year. Granted, Brian had been able to pick out the girl, but it still stung whenever he had to think of the "precautions" Lucas had to take at any of his events. "I mean, I don't mind but... are you?"

Lucas Roark

Lucas smiled at the mentioning of Brian's "girlish" figure and of the party. The party was always fun, even last ye-

Last year... The girl... His parents... He winced when Brian reminded him of it. The girl had been nice and everything, he liked her, but he hadn't wanted to dance with her. He hadn't wanted to ask her. He hadn't wanted to be with her. He didn't want to introduce his parents to her. He had wanted to do all of that with Brian instead, but his fear got the best of him.

And he knew that Brian had been hurt, probably betrayed. Sure, he said it was okay but Lucas could tell that it wasn't. And it shouldn't be. Lucas should be able to show Brian off without being scared. He wanted to, gods he wanted to... But he could compare the way he felt to jumping off a cliff or out of an airplane. He knew that he would make it through, knew he had the parachute there for support, but there was always that what if.

What if the parachute malfunctioned? What if he forgot how to work the parachute? What if he opened it too early? What if he opened it too late? He knew that it would be okay if he just followed his heart but what if? It was that damn question!

He was pretty sure that he could do it, he could tell him parents and the world, but he couldn't get over the fear of hitting the ground.

There was one thing he was sure of though. "I'm not taking another girl to the party," he said surely, lifting Brian's chin up to look at him. "I didn't like it last year, and more importantly neither did you. I couldn't put us through that again." He sighed and looked down, ashamed. "Even though I hate myself for this, I'm not ready to introduce you as my boyfriend to my parents... But..." he grinned a little bit. "I would be the happiest guy at the party if you went with me. If we went together." It wouldn't be an 'official' date but they could ride there together and show up together. They could stay relatively close together... So it would be like a date to them but everyone else would just assume they're friends. And really, if they thought something different...

Well he was relatively okay with that.

Brian's eyes lit up, those emeralds sparkling in the mid-afternoon light.

"R-Really?!" He squeaked, almost in disbelief. "I-..." He was at a loss for words. Was this... This was an actual date. He could feel the heat rush to his face. Lunging forward, the smaller male pressed his lips against Lucas's and gave him a thankful kiss.

Lucas grinned into the kiss and deepened it. When he pulled back he was slightly out of breath. He smiled. "One day," he began, "I'll show you off to the whole world. I hope you can wait for me." Breakfast was easily forgotten.

Brian nodded happily, tears practically forming in his eyes.

"Of coarse I can, darling," He purred, trailing kisses across Lucas's cheek. "I'd wait eternity if I had to..." His tone was loving and warm. This was getting all too good. Slowly, he removed himself from his boyfriends lap.

"Well, I guess all we need to do is prepare~, care to help me, sweetheart?"
