Azu has the power of an S-class mage, although technically, he's actually an F-class mage. This is due to a combination between the nature of his powers and the fact that he doesn't ever seem to take jobs.

Personality/Personality Quirks
Azu is, in a word, eccentric. He tends to hold strange hobbies such as collecting random bits of wood, baking mud pies (with actual mud), or even sitting down for hours just to fold paper cranes. He's an incredibly strange individual that will sometimes drink himself stupid when he has the money. Despite his natural air-headedness, he is generally an easy-going person that smiles all the time. He never seems to have a bad word for anyone, and it is an incredibly rare occasion to see him angry for any reason. He's the type of person who would stick up for his friends in a flat second. In this way, he can also be a bit overprotective.

Since he doesn't like to fight, Azu is perfectly content to work for the Crimson Phoenix in other ways- cooking, cleaning, tending to the bar and to other mages are just fine with him.

Magics
Demon's Eye
This magic, located in Azu's right eye, holds the majority of his magic power.
Strength- The Demon's Eye unleashes and even enhances Azu's magic power, creating a dark aura around him.
Weakness- The Demon's Eye does nothing unless his right eye is open. It can also be closed by magic, if opened. Without being in use, Azu is blind in his right eye.

Animation Magic
Similar to Living Magic, this magic is a Black Art that involves breathing life into an object.
Strength- Azu is able to control his creations, which can practically be anything. He doesn't require any preparations or rituals to do so, either.
Weakness- His creations aren't actually given true life, like Living Magic does. He cannot give them personalities, abilities, or their own magics. Also, this magic cannot be used extensively without opening his Demon's Eye.

Bio
Azu was, unfortunately, born into a dark guild that sought to train him into being the 'ultimate killer' the moment they found out that he had more magic power than most, even as a child. At the age of 12, they had successfully trained him to be a master assassin. His only friend was an old, frail man who was a long-time bartender of the guild; Azu would often come into the guild simply to speak with him about everything and anything. Right under the guild master's nose, the old man was the one who taught him kindness, warmth, and that there was a world outside of killing and following orders. Because of the old man's influence, as the years went by Azu longed for a release from the guild.

That day came when the guild master found out about the old man's influence on the now-14 year old boy. Angry for 'sullying years of training', he ordered Azu to kill his only friend. Instead, Azu became so angry and frustrated that his magic power went out of control, inevitably causing him to murder his own guild master and fatally wound his only friend. Appalled by what he'd done to his friend, he took him and ran. The old man died before the next sunrise, but before he passed he imparted to Azu two last gifts- the Demon's Eye and a secret stash of scrolls containing the knowledge of how to learn Animation Magic.

Over the next five years, Azu lived in secrecy to learn how to use Animation Magic. In order to do so, he discarded all the previous magic he has learned in the dark guild. When he was done and had memorized everything down to the letter, he burned the scrolls and vowed never to kill again.
