Name: Atticus Moore
Sex: Male
Race: Therianthropic Leopard
Age: 18; 2 in cat years
Appearance: Some may call him awfully ugly; furred body and strikingly predatory eyes, and all. Some may call him beautiful; sleek fur cascading into supple muscles and strong features, offering conflicting opinions. Others settle that calling him different is best. Standing solid as 6'0ā€ and weighing in at 210lbs, he's a brawny figure that can seem as imposing as he sounds. His tawny fur is covered with dark-brown rosettes, in random intervals over his shoulders, back and torso. A softer creme-colour paints the fur on his chest and face; creating a mask around his intelligent golden eyes. His ears and tail are slightly over-sized for his frame, but itā€™s nearly unnoticeable. His arms and legs are thick with muscle, the kind that comes from years of hard work and heavy lifting. Retractable claws are often heard clicking on the top of his desk; sharp from use, and as hauntingly black as midnight. With the slightly predominant form of his mothers slight and tall frame accompanied by his fathers powerful and agile build (along with thicker fur), the young male has the genetic composition of a creature built to take the night in stride, making the most of very little.

His outfit consists of a rather form-fitting upper-body shirt made of a mixture of spandex and kevlar threads, black in colourā€”if he wears anything on his upper body, at all. Regulations only permits so much freedom. His lower body is covered by a looser pair of green khakis, with a hole big enough for his fluffy tail to slip through uninterrupted. Plenty of little pouch-pockets riddle his pants, allowing him to carry items ranging in size; from dried strips of meat, to a variety of fruit. Though, he prefers the small comfort of going without footwear, he'll often wear leather bracers on the upper part of his biped feet for stability; his pants neatly tucking into them. Around his waist is a black leather belt with metallic studs, used primarily as a fashion statement, but also quite handy when a weapon is not available. The only accessory he deems necessary to wear are the small, outlandish beads knotted into the plaits behind his ears.

There were whisperings that Atticus had a more pleasant form; though, these claims have been largely unconfirmed.

Abilities:
Improved Strength: He's gifted with increased and enhanced physical strength, far surpassing any humans. Though, most of his strength has been attained with strenuous training and strict teachings.
Improved Resilience: He's amazingly resilient, compared to humans. Beatings, gunshot wounds, and blades don't seem to faze him muchā€”well, outwardly, anyhow. Bullets and grave wounds can still prove fatal, he just has the ability to remain conscious and mobile. Very simply, he can take far more punishment than a human could hope to, and remain vertical and dangerous.
Improved Speed: Like many feline predators, Atticus has been graced with their agility. With this speed comes a natural animalistic grace to their movements. Quick, agile, liquidly graceful. At times, he can move so fast that he can appear to be a blur.
Improved Senses: He can hear and smell with crystal clarity at such a heightened state that he is able to smell fear, lust, and even the small subconscious olfactory scents associated with lying. He may not be able to recognize what it is he's scenting, but its there.
Night Vision: He has excellent night vision. Aleopardā€™s vision at night may be as much as six times better than a humanā€™s eyesight, stemming his reflective or mirror-like, layers at the back of his eyes.
Call the Flesh: This ability lets him heal other people by licking their wounds. Where his tongue passes over torn flesh, it becomes miraculously healed. While mortal wounds will not be healed by this ability, most others will.

Personality: With his strong code of right and wrong, Atticus prefers to brood in silence rather than socialize with the others in the academy. It isn't because he's necessarily cold, but he's become familiar with inter-species racism and prefers to steer clear of unnecessary ridicule. Although he may not be the most talkative of people you could hope to meet, heā€™s kind hearted at the best of times, even though it may be difficult to sense due to the fact he barely utters a word to people heā€™s never met, making him seem like a mute. He is slow to trust, even his own kind, and suspects most peoples motives are ill-intentioned. Atticus has never encountered an altruistic soul, and seriously doubts they exist. He normally doesn't say what's on his mind, which makes him an extremely hard individual to understand. Secretive is how he likes being portrayed as; he enjoys surprising people with his baritone voice, and is often find smiling beneath his nonchalant facade. Proud, rigid and astute in his beliefs; he's a giant with the manners of a gentleman, even if they come out a little outdated.

Humble in any of his pursuits, Atticus follows his goals with a feverish determination and often does not speak of such things, unless politely asked. He wears his scars like gold medallions, flaunting them without a second thought. His peoples' belief system is very old; outlandish in retrospect, and difficult to fathom. Atticus understands this, and doesn't bother trying to justify his strange actions. As withdrawn as he comes off as, he yearns to gather a better understanding of everything and everyone around him. It wouldn't be uncommon to find him cooped up in the library, awkwardly cradling books in his large clawsā€”trying his best not to rip any pages in the process, trying. Curious to a fault, it's a trait that often gets the best of him; ironically, him being of the feline variety. Thankfully, it hasn't gotten him killed yet. A certain kindness radiates from the hulking creature; whether it be his readiness to share his silent companionship, or his stature to grab that book teetering a few feet too high for you to reach. When someones' gained his trust, he's fiercely protective of them. He seems to suffer a discernible weakness to anything that's adorableā€”specifically people who are smaller, and appear younger than he isā€”and is often seen trying to help them, in any way that he can.

Unscrupulous, Atticus recognizes rules of fairness, treating most people with respect as much as he can manage. Honour is constantly sought in his eyes, whether or not those around him treat him with the same respect doesn't particularly matter. However, when it comes to seeing injustice happening to others, he is rarely moved. People's problems are largely their own, and while a younger, more impressionable Atticus might have been moved by heroics, the best he might do is offer his condolences. Only certain events will move his hand into action, as he's sworn not to resort to violence. He will always be a predator. He will always be a hunter; the bestial urge is still there, but it's dormant. No matter how much self control he exhibits, his buttons can still be pushed and his temper can be explosive. Atticus tries to be as compassionate and considerate as he can manage, from a comfortable distance.

Once known, Atticus' strong personality traits become more apparent. His stubbornness has some benefits; he is extremely determined, and although he may not be very skilled in anything supernatural, he will never give up, no matter the circumstance. Along with this he has loads of perseverance and is not easily turned away once he has an idea or goal in mind. One noticeable trait of Atticus' character is his respect for women. His high regard for females, which stemmed from his respect for his single mother; over time, this respect grew into adoration, and currently he treats all females as if they were goddesses. No matter how rude a women may be, he is always kind to them. He constantly looks for ways to protect and help women. On the other hand, his animal instincts can easily take over, especially when they are triggered by scents. Some scents that may break Atticus' concentration, and possibly cause abnormal behaviour are: the smell of raw or fresh meat, a cat in heat, and even female human pheromones. It's caused some pretty embarrassing scenes, though he's learned some ways to control his odd nature.

Equipment: His clothing; A handmade water-skin made from oiled Elk skin; A small, cat-shaped backpack with the following items: a set of toiletries (comb, brush, organic soap, toothbrush), dried rations, serrated knife, flint and steel, a small statue of Buddha, vials of loose tea leaves, a variety of dried flowers; and his mother's heirloom necklace. Recently, he's acquired an iPodā€”which he's still trying to figure out.

History: ā€œOne day I will find the right words, and they will be simple.ā€
