Ari Wolfe's Story

Ari sat on his couch watching tv to make the time pass by. He heard his mother yell from downstairs, "Hurry up if your going rock climbing with your friends, you still have a lesson!"
Ari sighed, going and picking up his stuff for both activities, "See ya later, mom." He yelled as he walked out the door. He'd have to hurry to make his lesson. He walked through a shortcut in the forest by his house, he did it all the time, but this time the forest seemed quiter that usual, he couldn't hear the usual small, soft noises, "What the-" Ari felt a hand grab him, pinning his arms to his sides, Alice, Would you like to play a game?
Ari struggled, but soon fell unconsious as he was pulled down a dark hole.

Ari opened his eyes, he seemed to still be in the forest, wait, no this place was different... where was this place. He looked around, seeing everything he had been carrying beside a tree. Ari struggled to get up, he felt an odd pain in his chest. He walked over to his bag, he tried to remember what had happened, how he got to this weird forrest, but his mind drew up blanks. He stood, walking to where he just lay, but caught up in his thoughts, he tripped. He grumbled as he went to pick himself up, he was progressively getting more and more angry. Suddenly the pain in his chest ripped through his whole body, forcing him to his knees. he gasped out in pain, hands grabbing at his chest, only to find his hands had been replaced with large paws. He looked in panic as hair began to cover his whole body, in a minute he was covered, he tried to cuss but it came out as an angry bark. He tried to stand on two feet, but found himself falling onto four. His eyes glowed red, as he grew with anger, he let out a long, loud howl.

Aislinn heard a howl and jerk her head in the general direction. "What the..." Picking up her bow and arrows Aislinn ran to where she heard the sound. Branches and bushes scrapped at her skin leaving little cuts but she didn't pay attention to it, she was more focused on what made that noise. After running for a few more minutes Aislinn stopped when she came across a wolf. Holding her breath Aislinn wondered what she should do. One she could run but then the wolf may follow her. Two, she could try and figure out what was wrong as crazy as it sounds. Sighing Aislinn took one step forward, "Hey....are you alright? Did you get hurt?" She was hoping what she was doing wasn't a mistake.

Aislinn took one step forward, "Hey....are you alright? Did you get hurt?" Ari looked to the girl. He shook his head, his large muzzel shaking back and forth. He whined, laying down setting his head on his paws. He was confused and apperently a wolf now. Ari stood to his four paws, walking over and picking up his bag in his large jaws. He dropped the bag infront of the girl. He was trying to show her he was human. He growled possesivly as he thought she reached to grab at the bag, his eyes flashing red. He felt a pain ripple through his body, he seemed to transform back into his human form, on his hands and knees. He stood, glaring at the girl, dusting his clothes off. He growled at her, "This is mine. Do not touch my stuff." He grabbed his bag, pulling at the sword and holding it by his side.

Aislinn retracted her hand and took a small step back, "I'm sorry, I thought you wanted me to since you brought it over." Adjusting her bow and arrows she took the time to look him over. He had black hair with green eyes and what seems to be slightly fair skin. She could tell that he was lean and shook her head, "Well...my name is Lynn...I think." Giving a small smile she held out her hand hoping that no ill will was between them for the misunderstanding. Aislinn wasn't use to talking to others so she tried to hide the fact she felt slightly uncomfortable.

Ari rubbed the back of his head, calming down. "Sorry, I get a little possesive sometimes." He took her hand shaking it firmly, "I'm- er, I'm pretty sure my name's Ari." He looked down at her, he was slightly taller than her and her red hair and eyes were so bright. "Um, has anything weird been happening to you? Because, I'm not sure, but I don't think I was a wolf yesterday..." Ari looked to the girl suspisiously, "You aren't the one that sent me here are you?" he asked, breaking the handshake and tightening his grip on his sword. His eyes flashed to red, "Well are you?!"

Aislinn shook her head, "No I'm I was brought here by someone as well." Biting her bottom lip Aislinn shrugged, "I haven't really thought about it...I feel the same but who knows." Adjusting her bow and arrows Aislinn looked around, "Okay we could probably stick together and figure this out if that was alright with you...I mean we're both in what seems to be a twisted and dark place." Looking back to Ari, Aislinn smiled, "What do you think?" Aislinn was fiddling with the bracelet out of habit while she waited for Ari to give her an answer.

Ari dropped his backpack, sighing as he loosened his grip on his sword. He thought over the offer. He was certain he didn't want to be alone in this strange forest. "That's a good idea. We'll stick together." He looked over to his backpack, "Do you have anything with you besides those." He eyed her bow and arrows, "Are you any good with your arrows?" He asked, leaning against a nearby tree, sticking his sword into the ground.

Her smile grew when he asked her about her bow and arrows, "Oh I'm the captain of the archery team. They say that it's my natural talent." Looking around she found a tree that was a very far distance away. Pulling her bow off her shoulder she grabbed a bow and pointed at the tree, "I bet I'll hit it dead center." Raising the bow and pulling the arrow back her eyes automatically focused on her target. Taking one deep breath and letting it out Aislinn released the arrow and watched it soar through the air and hit the tree in the intended spot. Satisfied she looked back to Ari, "With your sword and my bow and arrows I think we'll do just fine."

Ari grinned at Aislinn, "Impressive." He said eyeing the tree that was so far away, he looked back to Aislinn, "Well, I think we will do just fine, no one's gonna get near us." He snatched up his sword, weaving it around idly, "Well, the first thing we need to figure out is why we are here, I would say that we should walk on, but it looks like it's gonna be dark soon." He began to chop branches off of the trees, stopping when he had a small pile. He swiftly set up a fire, he looked over to Aislinn, "I figured you could find us something to eat, I'm not too sure how my sword skills will translate to hunting." He had a sheepish smile on, slightly embarrassed in admitting he couldn't do something.

Aislinn watched him make a fire and smiled, "Well I can tell you that it would've taken me ages to get a fire started." Looking around Aislinn closed her eyes and let her other senses heighten. Breathing slowly Aislinn stayed still for a minute or so then opened her eyes, "I'll be back." Turning south Aislinn began walking away disappearing into the forest.

As Aislinn was walking she heard a branch break and instantly crouched down. Slowly walking while crouched down Aislinn found a tree wide enough to hide her body and stood up leaning against it. Hearing another branch break again Aislinn leaned to the right and looked straight ahead and saw a deer walking while grazing. Raising her bow Aislinn grabbed another arrow and pulled the string back. Repeating her actions earlier she inhaled once then let go of her arrow and watched it hit the deer. Seeing the deer fall instantly Aislinn ran over and pulled out her arrow knowing that the deer was already dead. Pulling out her dagger Aislinn was wondering if she should gut and skin the dear here or carry it back and do it by the fire. It would be logical to do it there since it was rapidly becoming dark. Adjusting her bow and cleaning off the arrow with a cloth she placed it back in the carrier, Aislinn put it on the same shoulder with her bow. Placing the dagger on the ground she hoisted the deer on her left shoulder and grabbed the dagger in her right hand. Standing up and getting use to the added weight Aislinn began making her way back to Ari.

Ari smirked at Aislinn as she came back with the deer, "Quite the catch ya got there." Ari took to poking at the fire, he grabbed a few twigs and threw them in. He looked to the deer, "Hey, do you need any help skinning? I don't really know how to do it, but I'm a fast learner. Besides it might be slightly easier to do it with a sword than with an arrow." He smiled at her as he walked over to her, crouching down to inspect the deer.

Chuckling Aislinn held up her dagger, "I come prepared." Cleaning the blade with the cloth she looked at the deer stabbed it in the center of it abdomen and began to cut in a straight line, "You have to gut it first so that the meat wont get spoiled." As she spoke the deer's organs began to fall onto the grass, "Now the gross part is grabbing the ones that didn't come out." Finishing the line she made Aislinn reached insided and scooped everything out along with the ones on the ground and placed them to the side. Seeing her hands all bloody Aislinn glanced down at her dagger on the ground, "If you don't care to skin it then all you do is pull the skin up some and cut then it should be easy from there."

Ari looked back to Aislinn, "You know, Boy Scouts never prepared me for this..." He joked, smiling as he did as Aislinn instructed. "Hey why do you think you're here? I mean like, I've done some crappy things, but I'm not sure anything I could have done anything so horrible as to land me here." He finished looking back to Aislinn, "There done, hopefully I didn't screw it up." Ari sat back by the fire, throwing in a few more sticks and poking around the fire with another stick. "But, I have to ask, do you remember what brought you here? Or rather, how you got here?"

Aislinn inspected the deer and smiled, "You did great for a first timer." Grabbing the dagger she began to cut into the meat. Looking around for a flat rock Aislinn grabbed one a few feet away and placed pieces of the meat on it, "We'll have to make rations." Chuckling lightly she looked over to Ari, "I don't know why I'm here, I mean I didn't go anything wrong as far as I know." She turned her attention back to the deer, "I know that someone pulled me down a hole I think and I ended up here." Shrugging Aislinn picked up the rock and placed it next to the fire, "We need to make something like a stand so it can support the rock to cook the food unless you just want to use sharp sticks."

Ari held up a stick, "Sharp sticks; I have a plently." he smirked, handing the stick to Aislinn. Ari looked down to the flickering flames of the fire, poking the burning wood with another stick. "Ya, just a giant black hand, pulled me down, almost like a huge rabbit hole." he turned to Aislinn, "It called me Alice and asked if I wanted to play a game..." he shook his head, waving it off, "Never mind, it probably sounds stuipid anyways" he muttered, looking back to the flames, then his gaze trailed up, following the smoke trail, "Do you think anyone else is here..." he asked, turning to Aislinn, "And would we want them to find us?" he questioned, pointing to the smoke rising up, leaving a trail for most anyone to follow.

Following his finger Aislinn looked up at the smoke, "I don't know..." Biting her lip she glanced around the tree line, "If there is anyone else I wonder if they're okay." She was thinking about him saying a hand grabbed him, "You said a hand grabbed you? I wonder if that's what happened to me as well." Poking a piece of meat onto the stick she placed it over the fire and smiled, "Smores sound good right now." A light chuckle escaped her lips, "Extra gooey marshmallows."

Ari smiled, gaze still towards the sky. After a moment he looked back to the fire, "Smores with extra chocolate." he turned to her, grinning. He reached over, grabbing a slice of meat. He inspected a stick as he spoke, "Why would you worry about anyone else out there? Assuming there is some other people out there." He stuck the meat onto his stick, "Not really how a ruthless killer should behave." He stared at this cooking meat for a bit, suddenly turning back to Aislinn, "Would you kill someone out there or not? I mean you wouldn't even have a second to think of it, but you have to consider, are they thinking the same of you as you are of them, or do they think differently of you as you are a different person not parallel to them. If they have the nerve and you lack that same nerve, it very well could be you, lying on the ground in a pool of your own blood. And then I would very well be without a traveling companion." He looked to the ground quickly, "I'm sorry, I think this place very well might be making me a bit mad."

Aislinn smiled, "I only worry because who knows what's going to happen." Hearing the ruthless killer comment she continued, "You may be right but I'm not a ruthless killer. I only kill when necessary." Rotating the stick so that the meat would cook evenly Aislinn thought over his explanation, "You could be right. With only a moment to think and not consider other options then I very well may kill if I thought that was the only way. Then again with my talent I would see them way before they would see me so I would have to evaluate if the person will be hostile or not." Bringing her stick closer she poked the meat and decided it needed to cook longer. Placing it back over the fire she looked at Ari, "You obviously can turn into a wolf. Would you do it again if it meant to kill just so you would live?"

Ari blinked at her question, looking back to his meat. He pulled it back, taking a large bite of the almost raw meat. "I don't believe I would under normal circumstances, it actually hurt pretty bad, it felt like millions of swords stabbing me repeatedly, all over my body. I think the only reason I didn't attack you is that I was confused and shocked by the pain. Actually I'm not even really sure how I turned into a werewolf..." he trailed off, finished of his meat, reaching for another. "Besides, what does that matter, I always have my trusted sword." He grinned, taking a bite of the meat, not even noticeing it was actually raw. Ari stretched his limbs lazily, lying down to look up to the nightsky through a gap in the trees. "I'm very happy you and I happened to wonder upon each other..." he said, glancing over to the archer.

Aislinn raised an eyebrow at his statement, "Really? Why is that?" She laid down on her back as well and inhaled deeply enjoying the slight breeze. Aislinn could say that being curious was one of her flaws and it made her think that she could pull off being a cat. Mentally chuckling at her thoughts she couldn't help but agree about being happy coming across him. If she didn't then she would be alone still out in this forest. That thought wasn't too appealing to her, and besides this is an extra set of eyes to help her scout. Looking over to him she waited to hear his answer.
