Jazmine and her wolf's little talk ends abruptly as she hears her pursuers stop a few yards behind her. They were closer than she'd thought. She stayed still as they spread out to surround her, their growling threats and the beating of paws the only sounds. There are only three of them, and none has a powerful enough aura to be an Alpha or Beta. She inhaled slowly. Three males, and one’s scent is… different, though she can’t put her finger on it. Exhaling, she opened her eyes to see a large black wolf standing in front of her. She looked over her left shoulder to see a brown wolf, and over her right to see a blond wolf. All of them seemed fit, and they're all glaring at her.

....Great. At least she already sensed the presence of other wolves approaching, meaning this pack's Alpha was probably coming out to meet her to make a bargain. Unless, of course these three tried to kill her, then she would fight and run, which wouldn't be TOO difficult... She'd already had to do that a few times. Some packs just weren't pleasant towards Loners. She waited, watching and listening to see what they'd do.

In response, Jaz merely went from sitting to laying back with her hands behind her head, crossing her ankles casually. This wolf was sooo trying to intimidate her right now, and was sooo obviously underestimating her. Of course, how was he supposed to know how exceptionally skilled she was? She smiled, thinking that surprising this seemingly arrogant guy would be fun.

((i'm changing to first person POV)) I rolled my eyes as the black wolf in front of me started to rattle off some stupid threat. It's a given that I would respect an Alpha. What does he take me for? A rogue? And as if he could tear me apart! Such an arrogant pup!

When the Alpha cut in, I quickly sat up, crossing my legs indian-style. She bowed her head, remaining in her human form to show that she had no intentions of resisting the Alpha's decision.... though she didn't plan on getting killed if things didn't go her way. "I always have a reason for trespassing, Alpha. I stayed at your boarder for, say, a few hours, but there weren't any boarder patrols. I figured if I went ahead and passed through your territory, I'd either run into a patrol, as I have, or pass through unnoticed. Both bring about a result." And now she hoped they'd make a bargain... one not too troublesome she hoped.

I blink. Is this guy serious? He was just threatening me not 10 minutes ago, and now he's trying to hit on me?
I was about to say something smart to him when he grabbed my hand and pulled me into the room. Instantly a gasp escaped my lips at the tingles running through my hand and up my arm from the contact. I was frozen in shock for a moment until one word formed in my mind.

MATE

NO. FREAKING. WAY. Not happening. I do NOT have a mate. I CAN'T have a mate.

I quickly and forcefully pulled my hand away from his. My heart was beating waaay too fast, and I could feel my face getting hot. This... This annoying, attractive guy is my mate? Woah, woah, woah. Where did attractive come from?

I stiffened at hearing his voice outside my door. Dinner? I really didn't want to see him again, especially since my heart still wasn't beating at its normal pace. "N-" Right on cue, my stomach growled pretty loudly. My face went red, ".....Yeah..."

Slowly, I headed to my door. I put my hand on the knob, hesitant about turning it, but finally did and opened my door to see non other than my newly found mate Arron waiting for me.

Okay. Was that a threat? This... This PUP who just so happened to be her mate was making a threat. As if they could force me to stay here longer than I agreed to! He was acting like this was the most normal thing in the world. And how the hell would he know how strong I am? I just met the guy! We are complete strangers. Mate or not, he is really getting on my nerves.

"Give us a chance? Give me a break! Why should I?" I stopped, thinking about the pros and cons. Things would become more complicated if he revealed that we're mates. Hold on... I'd only have to deal with him for two months...

I followed Arron down the stairs, nodding my head to the Alpha to show respect before making eye contact with with his sister, Raina. I think she's pretty, and she definitely looks like the kind of girl I'd get along with. I thought that she was thinking the same thing because she smiled.

Tiny tingles erupted in my hand and up my arm like electricity, causing me to once again gasp when Arron grabbed my hand. I wasn't even able to give a reaction, much less pull away in the amount of time in took me to recover before he had me seated at the table. The next thing I knew, His lips were next to my ear as he whisperd to meet him in the maze for a walk, and... Kiss!?!? Nonononono. Not happening. I could feel my face flush... Damn my light skin! I'm sure they'll notice.

I cut my eyes towards Raina, who was rolling her eyes, and then she spoke,

"Wow, Arron. Hit on her, her first night here. How much of an idiot IS my brother?" She gave an exaggerated look of innocence. Her response was so unexpected to me that I almost couldn't stop myself from laughing... But what Arron said was still in my mind, so I managed a response with just a smile.

Stuck up? Stuck up!? What the hell!? My mate's family said that he hits on other girls. Of course I would be annoyed, you idiot! ... No, I'm not annoyed. I don't care either way...

I looked down at the map blankly. Seriously. I say sarcastically, "Aw, how sweet. Drag a girl to a maze, accuse her of possibly being stuck up, give her a map, and run off leaving her alone. SUCH a charmer." I rolled my eyes. As if I even needed a map to get through this thing. I'm a wolf. "I can just follow your scent, idiot... It's pretty strong."

I hesitated before shifting. Red wolves were rare... Especially now that the Red Rain had been wiped out.....They had a strange nac for producing red wolves, after all. I shifted, following this jerk of a mate's scent. Even if I don't care... You shouldn't leave your mate behind in a maze!

When I was able to hear Arron talking and saw the grave site, I hid behind a tree on impulse. I knew he'd be able to smell me, but if I hid at least it gave an illusion of privacy. Where he'd wanted to take me was... his mother's grave?

....Why?

...He thinks I'm nice? When was I nice to him? Wait... His mom was killed by... a loner? It made her mad to think there was a loner out there who wasn't living by the loners' code. If she ever met the guy, she'd kill him herself. You don't kill unless necessary... Not that she could say much after what happened...

For a moment, I felt a very strong urge to wrap my arms around him, but that moment passed as he mentioned that I was hiding here and started to speak to me.

I honestly didn't know how to respond to him in this situation, but felt my face blush as I shifted back to my human form. I stepped out from behind the tree, arms crossed as the same feeling of wanting to wrap my arms around him came back. Cutting my eyes down and to the side I replied, "Why should I care, I'm a complete stranger, anyways... Besides... I- I agreed to 'giving us a chance' didn't I?"

While Arron started to talk about the other loner, what he'd said, and the Red Rain, Jazmine prickled a bit. Even if she had problems with him, her dad wouldn't have sent anyone to do that. And, Loner's don't take orders like that. She almost growled at the thought. That... That THING was no Loner. It was a ROGUE. How DARE it dirty the names and reputations of Loners and of the Red Rain! Looking at all of the graves, hearing the story of how his mom died, of why they were suspicious of her, it all made Jaz particularly enraged. Half because this was her mate, like it or not, and second, because bad memories started to flash behind her eyes.

She audibly started to growl until she felt the sparks that were becoming more comfortable at each touch as Arron grabbed her hand. The touched caused her to calm down immediately, the visions behind her eyes disappearing... Then something she'd never seen coming happen. He kissed her. It was a soft, slow kiss, but it was amazing nonetheless. She felt her heart skip a beat, her mind going somewhat blank as she unconsciously responded to his kiss, moving her lips against his own before she could actually realized what she was doing.

Jazmine blinked, her face flushing furiously when he pulled away. WHAT THE HELL DID I JUST DO!?!? she thought to herself. Bad, Bad, BAD! When he picked her up, she didn't really think about it, still freakishly embarrassed and confused about her response to his kiss. Stupid, STUPID, Jazmine! You were supposed to punch him, not kiss him back! WHAT THE HELL!?!?

Before she knew it, they were back at the house, Arron setting her down onto her bed and leaving the room with some parting words. I'm not alone anymore? You have no idea what your talking about... she thought to herself. Absolutely no idea. She could feel it there at the back of her mind, the other part of her that had been dormant for so long... After all of the events, shocks, and emotions of the day... She could feel the darkness start to stir. And that scarred her. Jazmine layed down and hugged her pillow, hiding her face in it. What was she supposed to do?

Jazmine froze as she felt Arron wrap his arms around her.

"...everything is ok jaz jasmine look at me!!!!!!!!" is all she was able to catch from what he said. She glanced up at his face, which she was strangely comforted by seeing. Then she merely collapsed into his chest, still crying but trying to and starting to get back control of herself. She hadn't had a nightmare... of that for months. Years, even, and now, suddenly she did. She felt weak and completely drained. Why was this happening. She wrapped her own arms around Arron, needing the comfort and the knowledge that there was something solid she could hold onto to help her get a grip on reality. "...Why is this happening?" she unconsciously mumbled into his chest.
