Personality

She appears to be a cold hearted woman without feeling. Her mission is to avenge her little brother's murder and therefore feels she can't have any emotions other than hate and anger. Deep down, however, she's lonely. She's traumatized by her past and subconsciously wants someone who can understand and accept her. She has no family left because she ran away from home at sixteen when her eleven year old brother was murdered. Since, she has been living in the forest just outside of town, honing her sorcery to avenge Daniel, her brother. She has not spoken to any other human in three years.

Equipment

She carries a knife on her belt, but otherwise, her only equipment is her power. As an elemental sorceress, she is the most powerful of the Magician race. She can speak with animals and shapeshift into different forms, accelerate or slow plant growth, and control the elements. Though she's been training in the solitary of the forest for three years, she can't control all of the different aspects of her power. She is also part Siren. It is one of the few things that scare her because of part of her trauma. The weather changes with her mood and for three years, there has not been a romantic sunset in her forest. The full moon enhances her powers and sometimes brings new ones. When her emotions begin to reveal themselves, they too will bring new powers.

History

To first explain what Kyra is would be to first explain what a Magician is. Magicians are very similar to humans, but with special powers. They range from shapeshifters, to elementals, to sorcery. They were a race in hiding for decades and humans (or the Ungifted as Magicians refer to them) took to mocking them with their own men skilled with trickery and illusions, believing that Magicians had disappeared completely. But now, they have come to surface again, and humans fear them greatly because at first glance, they appear to be a normal human, but there's no telling what their gift is. Magicians live among the humans, most trying to go unnoticed so they can live a normal life.

Kyra's mother, Amelia, was a Magician, a sorceress. She birthed four children, Cary, Maria, Kyra, and Daniel. Kyra was born on Halloween under the full moon, and with her inherited powers from her mother, combined with the powers of the moon and being born on the holiday where the dead walk the Earth, she was born an elemental sorceress. At birth, Kyra's nurse took her into the back to weigh her, but almost dropped her when the infants eyes opened to be cats'. Kyra closed her eyes immediately afterwards and the nurse continued, thinking she must have imagined things.

When Daniel was born, Kyra was five. She and Daniel grew up to be very close, closer than their older siblings could ever hope to be. Kyra lived a normal, Ungifted life until she was fourteen. Her father, Alan, was an alcoholic and one night, when he came home, Amelia and Alan began to argue. Kyra crept downstairs to listen more closely to their argument, hiding on the steps. That night changed her life forever. Amelia was trying desperately to explain to Alan, an Ungifted, what she was because she was seeing signs of it in Kyra. Alan refused to believe what she was saying, especially since he was drunk, and when Amelia manifested a fireball in her palm to prove her words, Alan lost his composure. He got his gun, shot Amelia, and then put the gun in his own mouth and pulled the trigger after he realized what he had done. Kyra watched it all happen.

Her oldest brother, Cary, was now the guardian being that he was twenty-two. He put Kyra into a mental institution, but they let her out after six months. Things were somewhat quiet for the next two years, but Kyra began to hone her abilities in secret. Now that she knew what she was, she wanted to learn more about it. What she didn't know was that her beloved little brother also was showing signs of being a Magician.

She had a mind link to Daniel that he was unaware of. She could look through his eyes to be sure he was all right at any given moment. When Kyra was sixteen and Daniel, eleven, she stayed home from school sick one day. The two of them usually walked home together, but Daniel would now be walking home alone. As she sat on the couch at home, Kyra used the mind link to be sure her brother was all right on his way home. Cary and Maria were at work. Kyra realized too late that her brother was like her. As he walked, he levatated a stick before him. Three male teenagers spotted him and reacted in the same way that Alan had. Kyra watched, helpless, as her little brother was beaten to death and left on the side of the road.

After that, Kyra ran away to the woods on the outskirts of town and has lived there for the past three years, honing her abilities so she can track down her brother's killers and destroy them with the same power they tried to get rid of. Knowing when she came into this world, she refers to herself as the Daughter of the Moon.
