Ugh, gym.
Scarlett thought, as she arrived at first period, already in her gym clothes. This was going to be hard on her foot, and she knew that for a fact. She was really going to fail in class today. Groaning, she walked into class. There were cones, which Scarlett didn't know what to interpret from them, other than they were going to do something today. She sat on the bleachers, and listened as the teacher rambled on about what they were going to do. This was the first time she didn't take notes; mostly because she wasn't in the mood, and secondly, right now all she wanted to do was disappear.
Scarlett shook her head, stop thinking that!
She commanded herself, frowning slightly. Before she could take out her notebook, which she had just ordered herself to get, people were getting off the bleachers, and getting in lines...

Turned out they were doing some running exercise which didn't please Scarlett in the slightest bit. When they were done, she didn't hesitate to get out of the room. Then, out of nowhere, there was the demon, again, with her phone.
Hope he didn't look at my texts...
She thought.

Jarrob watched the Mortals through the gym door with mild interest. Gym was always so fun, watching the Mortals keel over wheezing, gasping for the breath of life. It was pitiful, really. Despite his ellation towards the Mortals' suffering, Jarrob couldn't help observing the Angel-girl. She was limping, obviously injured, in pain. Why had she not just healed it? Angels were, after all, powerful, skilled healers. Sheoul had an abundance of captured Angels working in the healing branch for them. Then the bell rang. And she was walking towards him. Jarrob stood up quickly - too quickly. His head was rewarded with an extra burst of pain. Hand to his head, he let out an involuntary moan. And they were face to face. Face flushed, Jarrob brought his hand down abruptly. "I-uh..." he stuttered, not knowing what to say. "I found your phone..." he drifted off, face reddening. "Could you just keep it away from your parents for a few days? Until the aura wears off? My mom would kill me if she heard I got us tracked." All demons and angels knew that there was something in electronics that cause the aura to linger around the object.

Scarlett nodded slowly.
"...I'll just keep it in my locker for a few days..."
Looking at him, she couldn't help but feel the slightest bit bad, he was obviously in pain...Sinking her teeth into her lip, She hesitated, before she slowly asked the words,
"Errr....Are you okay?"

Jarrob's eyes widened, face reddening in embarrressment. This was crazy; she actually cared about his well being, his condition. Hell only knows where that came from. Face still red, he stuttered out a barly cohorent response. "I.. Well... Uh... I'm okay." He tried not to look at her face. "Concussion, I think. Otherwise, pretty much healed." He shrugged his shoulders as though indicating his wings. "You're-" He glanced down at her foot.

"I-it's alright..."
Scarlett muttered. She looked at the floor, and lightly scratched the back of her head.
"Um...I, err, I don't think concussions are really something to shrug about..."
She was biting her lip to the point of bleeding.

Jarrob responded with another awkward shrug. "I'll live. It's not like I'd tell my parents. Besides, I heal quick." He fixed his eyes on her. Why did she care, anyway? She was an... an Angel. They were merciless, unconcerned about anyone or anything aside from the Mortals. Yet here, right in front of him, was a contridiction. "Why do you care, anyway?"

Scarlett frowned...
"I-I don't know...It's not usually I care about someone who tried to kill me."
She admitted, shrugging slightly.
"..And it's not like I don't care about others..."
She added slowly.
"Why do you care if I care?"
Scarlett then asked, lifting her head up, but only so she could see his face.

Jarrob bit his tongue when she mentioned his attempt. Oh, Lucifer, please do let them stick to the topic! He scratched the back of his head. "It's just... Your kind usually doesn't give a shit about us." His face flushed for what seemed like the millionth time that day. "I'm just curious as to why you're so... different."

Scarlett shuffled her feet,
"I'm not all angel, you know."
She pushed her hair behind her ears, and sighed deeply.
"..."

Jarrob shoved his hands in his sweatshirt pockets. "I know... You can't fly..." He glanced at her back as the late bell rang. "Lucifer damn it," he groaned in exasperation. "Now you're late. Damn schools! Damn 'em!" He glanced through the empty halls, then back at her. "Where you heading this period? Same as yesterday?" His face reddened, realizing he had just confessed to following her. " 'Cause I can get you in without you getting in trouble, if you'd like." Jarrob wondered if it was obvious he felt in debt to her.

"Were you following me?"
Scarlett muttered.
"Whatever,"
She shook her head, and looked at him, arching her eyebrow slightly.
"You can?"

The corner of his mouth twitched. "But, of course I can. There's not much I can't do." He cupped his palm, a blue ball of fire sparking. Jarrob smirked at her. "I've got the world in my hands." Closing his palm, dispersing the flame, he started towards her next class. "Mind I'll have to stay in the classroom the whole time, but whatever."

Scarlett followed him,
"Shouldn't you be in your class?"
She asked, placing her hands on her hips.

Smirking, back to her, Jarrob laughed. "I couldn't care less. I can easily pass each test without trying." He glanced back at her. "Have you ever noticed that the teachers are always thinking about the answers during tests? It makes things so much easier." It was true: a bit of mind prying, he had all the answers at hiss fingertips.

Scarlett rolled her eyes.
"Not that I would know,"
She smiled, once again pushing her hair out of her face.
"So annoying..."
She muttered, referring to the strand of hair that refused to stay behind her ear.

Jarrob didn't hear her final comment. He furrowed his brow. "I wonder why you have, like, no powers." It was more of a statement than a question. Not like she would've had time to respond anyway. They reached the closed door of the room. Jarrob gestsured to her. "You should probably go in first, I'm invisible to them, they'll freak." Jarrob laughed. "It would be funny, but I need to focus on the teacher, I'll slip in as the door closes."

Scarlett huffed,
"I'm not that powerless..."
But it wasn't very loud, so the demon couldn't hear.
"It would be funny, but I need to focus on the teacher, I'll slip in as the door closes."
She nodded, smirking, as she opened the door.

Jarrob slid in, true to his word, positioning himself beside the teacher. He pushed a thought into her mind, and she obeyed. "Ahh, Scarlett, the gym teacher said you'd be coming in late. Very kind to help him the way you did." Jarrob stifled a laugh at the gulibity of Mortals.

Scarlett frowned in the slightest. That was a bit of a lie...She wiped the thought out of her mind, nodded, with a small smirk, and sat down at her desk.
It annoys me that it doesn't bother me as much as it should,
She thought.
Oh well.

Jarrob kept up his mind distractions for the rest of the period before releasing the teacher to her own true thoughts and knowledge. She would be in a daze for quite awhile, so this 'Scarlett' would surely be safe. Jarrob sidled out the door without waiting for her, heading for his own third period. ((You can TS to arriving home if you want.))

Scarlett sighed, pulling her backpack out of her locker, replacing it with her phone, which she wasn't planning on bringing home. She made her way towards the stairs, stopping short when she passed the demon's locker. Smiling, she went over and leaned against the locker next to him.
"I was wondering, what's your name?"
She asked.
"You know mine, so I might as well know yours."
She said, referring to when the teacher said her name, earlier in second period.

The day was as boring as usual. Jarrob paid no mind to the teachers, instead succumbing into his own mind. Seriously, who could blame him? The Mortals were annoying, the grown ups especially. Well, grown ups of any species were annoying, his mother was living proof of that. But he supposed it didn't help matters that he had been talking to - and assisting - an Angel. It was crazy, unbelievable, impossible. Yet it had happened.

At the end of the day, head pounding more than ever, Jarrob headed to his locker, opening it and placing his head against the one next to it. The cool metal did little to soothe his aching head. "I was wondering, what's your name? You know mine, so I might aas well know yours." He knew that voice. He doubted he'd ever be able to forget it. The Angel who cared and spared, the girl who changed and complicated literally everything he had thought was true, was one hundred percent fact. Now he was confused.

Jarrob hiked his backpack onto his shoulder, closing the door that seperated them. Looking downwards, he responded: "Jarrob," he whispered, barely audible, somewhat reluctantly. What if she tracked him? Reported him? But why would she do that? If she wished him harm she would've just killed him... Wouldn't she. Well, unless she was a spy, gathering information... Oh crap. "My name's Jarrob."

Scarlett tiled her head slightly.
"Jarrob...I can see a lot of teachers mistaking that for Jarrod."
She said, thoughtfully.
"Alright then. That's all I wanted to know."
She smiled, and walked off just like that...

Jarrob watched her walk off, stunned. What was that all about? Shrugging, he started downstairs, striding outside just in time to see his bus pull out, away from the school. Cursing under his breath, Jarrob backed away from the rode, chanting for invisibility. With the spell's completion, he pulled off his shirt, stuffing it unceremoniously into his backpack, spreading his wings as he did so. Taking a running leap, he let himself go airborne, wing aching only slightly. He really should miss the bus more often.
