Fritz (Wrath)

"I'm so fucking fed up with all of you! Why can't you just leave me alone?!"

0 · 380 views · located in Divine City

a character in “Deadly Correction”, as played by FeralWanderer

Description

Name: Fritz

Gang Name: Wrath

Gang Position: Housekeeper

Age: 21

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Homosexual

Love interest: None, might happen eventually. He tends to be adverse to relationships though.

Appearance: Fritz is pale-skinned with a rather scrawny frame, magenta/violet eyes, and black hair that fades to blond as it reaches the ends. He usually wears a neutral expression, but this changes to a slight smirk when he is annoyed or angry. He has five simple silver ear-piercings on his left ear for minor theft, one rather prominent obsidian fleur de lis piercing on his right ear, and three simple spearpoint-like tattoos under his right eye.

Clothing Choice: Fritz prefers to wear pastel pink or purple clothing. He enjoys cotton fabric, plaid, and hoodies of various types. He absolutely hates anything that looks even remotely military or professional. Uniforms aren’t something he’d be caught dead in. He always wears rose-coloured sunglasses and a light pink winter hat, along with several necklaces strung with light pink beads. He wears plaid cut-off pants accompanied by dusty purple legwarmers and metal claw-like boots.

Brands: Murder (3), Class (1), Theft (minor) (5)

Personality: Fritz tries to be level-headed, but gets very easily upset by minor things. Sudden loud noises will annoy him greatly, but it won’t become an issue unless someone tries to talk to him directly afterwards. Once he gets mad, he tends to stay mad for a lot longer than most people would. When angered, Fritz will do anything to achieve solitude, from punching and kicking to hitting people with the nearest object that isn’t welded to the floor.
Fritz hates the idea of surrender and will avoid it at the cost of his life. He’s childish in that he will do anything to avoid following orders. He will always go against what he thinks is what someone wants him to do; this goes as far as analyzing the situation and deciding whether or not the person in question wants Fritz to do what he’s been told or the opposite of what he’s been told.
Fritz is always alert and on-edge around everyone. It’s impossible to earn his trust for the same reason that he refuses to follow orders. Everyone is an enemy to him, including his ‘closest companion’. He views loyalty and trust as extensions of surrender and as such will avoid them at all costs. If in a neutral mood, he will feign a smile around the members of Deadly. He won’t hesitate to injure or kill anyone given the opportunity or incentive. When frightened or sad, Fritz will shut himself off in a separate room and become unresponsive until his emotions settle down. If unable to do this, he will do his best to force his emotions away from himself and put on a neutral face.

Likes: Raccoons, Dark alleyways, Abandoned buildings

Dislikes: Loud noise, Authority figures, Rich people

Fears: Being alone in a quiet place, Open spaces, Severe weather

Closest “Companion”: Gluttony

Rival: Pride

History: Fritz was born to a rather wealthy family living in one of Divine’s better districts. His parents were kind enough, but they weren’t all that invested in Fritz’s well-being. As such, Fritz was mostly left to his own devices. During his free time (which was most of the time), Fritz would walk around the city and listen in on people’s conversations. He would purposefully listen in on more heated debates or discussions about politics, his goal being to sample many different ways of thinking and create his own convictions about the world. After doing this for quite a while, Fritz developed a rather libertarian sense of thinking. During his ‘travels’ about the city, he noticed that most people seemed to be very civil towards each other, even at the worst of times. Thinking that, logically, his own parents would certainly be similar, he decided to share his discoveries with them. Upon hearing their son’s worldviews and the news that yes, he was gay, his parents flew into a rage the likes of which Fritz had never seen before. His parents were appalled that their son had views that differed from their own even slightly, so they kicked him out of their home and left him to his own devices. Fritz knew his way around the city well-enough at that point to be able to find food and shelter, though he still got caught stealing from bakeries on occasion. He’s punched authorities and stolen from high-class citizens a few times, which earned him a tongue piercing and a first-class ticket to Sin.
Other: Things.
Totally not in a kismesis relationship with Gluttony.
For some reason he really hates chicken.

So begins...

Merrick Gula

All was unnervingly quiet in Deadly's base today. Everyone had woken up sometime in the mid-evening and now sat in a more common room area. Merrick fidgeted in the dead silence. What was with everyone today? For some reason, everything was ridiculously tense. Perhaps it had been the talk of another powerful gang appearing that had everyone on edge. Pride had mentioned something about the gang to Merrick, though he hadn't been exactly specific yet. Merrick expected no less. Pride would fill him in on all of the details when Pride was ready.

Merrick's eyes slowly scanned his companions from behind his book. He wasn't actually reading. He never planned on reading. He just brought a book out to make himself feel less awkward. His eyes rested on Pride. Merrick couldn't help but wonder if maybe Pride had plans for the group today. It was almost night now, the most active time for the gang. A smile graced Gluttony's face as he decided to finally break the silence.

"Ah... Excuse me, everyone, but do we have any business we need to attend?" He closed the book as silently as possible and smiled in his usual way. It was good to have so many good friends. Friends that would grow attached to him. His smile widened as he tilted his head to the side and leaned back in his chair.

"If not, perhaps I could... Be excused for a while. I have some business I need to attend to at some point. Though, it can wait." He put out a hand in suggestion. His appetite was starting to grate at him. As much as he hated himself for it, it was about time to do something about that. His eyes moved over his companions again. Pride would know what he meant. Hopefully, the others knew nothing.

His eyes stopped on every member, just for a moment. He was making sure they didn't assume anything. It would be a real damper in his plan if any of the others found out. Pride was the only one he felt would never judge him for his taste. That was why he had trusted the leader with the secret in the first place. However...

He was no closer to possessing the leader. Nor did he have any of the others. This was a rather annoying fact. Why was it that he couldn't get them to feel as strongly attached to him as he was to them? His smile turned into a grin as his eyebrow twitched only slightly. He couldn't let himself break that easily. He gestured slightly again.

"Well?"

"Well? Well I'm starving, and it's cold in here." Kat joked with a rather cocky smirk. She had decided to sit upside down underneath a fan while wearing a rather light pajama set, so it was no wonder she was cold. But her comment was just an attempt to break away from the tense feeling in the room.
Having been up for hours she had already run into a number of stories and rumors about new rivals and power struggles online as well as on the news, and at this point she was sick of hearing gossip about it. Besides, even if it was true it's not as if this would be their first set of challengers, there have been many over the years. Perhaps it was her ego, confidence in Skylar's leadership, or their lack of any real defeats that has her so at ease with this rumored new threat....or maybe she's actually looking forward to a new challenge. Whatever it was Kat seemed to be the most at ease in the room.

"But outside of that no, I can't think of any reason to keep you from...your business."
Pushing herself upright Kat would cross her legs and arms almost in unison as she casually stared around the room, waiting for someone else to speak up.

Pride sat sprawled out on the large couch, one leg extended lazily in front of him, the other propped up for comfort. His left arm rested across the back cushion, bent at an angle to allow two long fingers to rest at his temple in contemplation. He had been sitting in this position silently ever since he came down to join the others which was worrying enough in its own right. The fact that he appeared to be edging closer to yelling at the first person to look at him the wrong way was another red flag. Those who knew him best would understand, however, that his present mood was only fleeting. It would dissipate once he decided to drag Lust away from the others to create plans for their next move.

By this point everyone in the room had picked up on the gossip of another rival gang. To them, it was simply another group of leaches that needed to be taught a lesson. Every once in a while, Pride caught glances out of the corner of his eye as the rest of the gang waited for him to give the word for action. So far he hadn't provided it. Nor had he said much about it. Only a couple of days ago he had disclosed to Gluttony, in private, that their new rivals would be more difficult to hunt down and get rid of due to the fact that they were not branded. How did he know this? He did not say. It was simply a fair warning of what was to come, a reason to be on the look-out for any suspicious activity around them. One thing was for certain, he wasn't going to sit around and wait for an attack to come. He would put the gang on the offensive soon. And to do that he needed to speak with Lust about their plan of attack.

He would have preferred to have Gluttony in on the meeting as well, but before he had a chance to pull himself out of his thoughts the man himself spoke up. Pride looked around at the first sign of life in what seemed to be hours now, his intent gaze catching onto Gluttony's much more eager one. He held it until the other male looked away, and then moved to get up from his spot. In the years he had known Gluttony and his rather... odd... taste, he had never made a move to stop him from doing what he needed to get his fix. It was an unspoken understanding between them that Pride would not stand in the way of his preferred nourishment so long as Gluttony didn't let it interfere in the gang's business. So far the arrangement had worked out in both of their favors and neither saw a reason to change it.

While Lust contemplated there being no reason not to let him wander off, Pride made his way silently over to the cabinets that stood the length of the far wall of the room. It held quite a number of different weapons and gadgets that he had Greed collect over the last year. They were often used, lost, or thrown away to be replaced by newer models, keeping their stash updated and afloat for any jobs they needed to undertake. This time, when he returned to the general group, he was holding two ear pieces in his hand. He tossed one of them to Gluttony, keeping the other for himself.

"These ones are still untapped by the Virtues," he spoke. "Keep it on you. If you see Jared's gang wandering around, let me know first and inform them that their payment is coming due in full this week. I need to speak with him." There was, of course, a secondary reason for keeping a line of contact open. Where-as normally Pride might have sent Sloth to drive him, he understood that Gluttony likely didn't want anyone from the gang tailing him lest they figure out what he was up to. There was strength in numbers, however, and Pride was not about to let his second-in-command be captured with no way to track him.

"If anyone else has any other business to attend to, I suggest doing so tonight," he added, his gaze scanning the others in the room, resting on each of the members in turn. It wasn't exactly an exciting night, but even this reprieve was better than letting them all sit idle while they waited. He let them break off into their own usual groups, only turning to one to hold her back from joining in on the leisurely time.

"Lust," he called her attention, looking over to her. Wordlessly, he motioned toward the door and simply turned to leave the room as a signal for her to follow.

Sloth

Jenna looked around the room. Everyone seemed on edge, no one daring to say anything. Pride seemed to be in a glorious mood today. He hadn't moved for a fair while. He was going to explode the second anyone said anything. Jenna slipped her hand into her pocket, feeling the comforting cold metal of her car keys. She turned the keys in her pocket, the metal warming up in her hand. Lust was sat upside down, Merrick in the corner. No one saying anything. Jenna felt the chill come from the fan. She looked at Lust, silently willing her to turn the damn thing off. They'd all heard the news of a new gang, a new bunch of upstarts that needed teaching a lesson about Sin.

Jenna tugged at one of her lip piercings. It was a point of personal pride that she only had two piercings. It meant that she was good at what she did. Pride still hadn't moved. Her own gaze fell on Merrick. Gluttony. He was thin and pale. Paler than usual, Jenna noticed. He'd probably be disappearing off to wherever it was he went soon. Jenna was beyond curious as to where he went, but knew better than to ask Merrick. She'd met some private people, but Merrick was without doubt one of the most private people she'd ever met. And she certainly knew better than to follow him, Pride would have her life for it.

Jenna had never felt relief like it when Merrick finally spoke up. He was the only one whose neck Pride wasn't liable to break right now. Jenna nodded to herself while Lust complained about being cold. Jenna suppressed a laugh. Had it been anyone else, Jenna might have been inclined to tell them to put some clothes on, but it was Lust and that would be a waste of breath. Jenna bent down and flicked the fan off. Sometimes the simplest solutions were the best. Pride walked over to the cabinet that Greed had filled with various trinkets. He handed an earpiece to Merrick, keeping one back for himself. Pride dismissed them, keeping Lust back. They were planning something.

Jenna took her keys out of her pocket and threw them up in the air a couple of times, smiling at the small jangle the keys made when they landed in her hand. She wanted to go for a drive. She grabbed her coat and looked around for Greed, "You got any plans for tonight?" She asked, knowing the girl's penchant for gathering supplies through questionable means and tagging Jenna along for the ride.

ENVY

Cail surveyed the room much as his fellow gang members where doing. The silence was deafening, and he wanted someone to break it, but at the same time he had nothing to say and no reason to risk opening his mouth. He sat with his head resting on his hands in a rather well padded chair tucked into the corner of the room so that every door in the room was within his peripheral vision. Merrick seemed far more nervous than was usual even for him, and his feigned book reading was hardly convincing to Cail. Kat sat in what seemed to be an extremely uncomfortable position while wearing what he imagined must be an extremely comfortable outfit. He wished he could be so comfortable. The rest of the gang were seated in their own chairs with Pride in his typical throne. It was nothing compared to the chairs Cail had used back in Divine City, but it helped fuel the enormous ego of their esteemed leader.

Cail's attention was drawn back to Merrick as he began to speak. He had absolutely no clue why they had been called to order, and nobody was explaining it. Kat's comments did nothing to help, and then Pride dismissed them with little further explanation, taking her off to go plan something. This annoyed Cail. It annoyed him greatly.

"Why would he was all of our time by calling us together just to dismiss us?" Cail muttered under his breath as he slowly hoisted himself out of his chair. He guessed it didn't matter, he was there to make sure that no one came in uninvited, so even the smallest meeting was something he would be called to usually. In light of this he slowly wandered over to stand next to the door that Pride and Kat had exited from and stood silently. As the bouncer he might as well make sure no one interrupted the planning session even if he was pretty sure no one in the gang would dare go in if Pride hadn't requested them. It gave him something to do.

Cail observed as his gang mates began to slowly disperse to their own preferred company. He watched as a door across the room began to close behind Merrick, his red scarf fluttering behind him. Cail wanted that scarf. It made Merrick so happy, or at least as happy as Merrick could be. Maybe the scarf could do the same for him...

WRATH

Fritz had sat through the entire short gang meeting listening quietly in a chair placed in the corner of the room. He was slightly annoyed at being called in to sit around while the others bantered, but he figured it wasn't worth getting visibly angry about. He hated everyone in this gang, but being here leeching off of them was far above scavenging in the alleys of Sin.

As the group began to disperse, Fritz sighed to himself. He didn't exactly feel like moving more than he had to at this point, so he lounged back in his chair and stared at the wall ahead of him, hoping nobody would attempt to speak to him. As the gang left the building or settled into different areas of the room, Fritz crossed one leg over the other and took out his phone, resting his arms on his crossed leg and leaning into the device's screen. For a few minutes, he tuned out the world around him and sat idly playing a game on his phone.

Upon hearing Sloth and Greed return to the base, Fritz raised his head slightly to see what they were up to. When he heard Sloth knock on Pride's office door, he shut his phone off discreetly to attempt to listen in on what was going on. Upon hearing Pride's instructions to Envy, Fritz raised an eyebrow. From what he could hear, it seemed like the police were preparing to launch some sort of attack on Sin's gangs. He snorted and stood up slowly, intending to go outside and see what was going on with his own eyes. He certainly wouldn't want to be stuck in this base if the police assaulted it. He'd rather be alone in a location where he could easily hide himself and not have to worry about constantly looking over his shoulder at the other members of Deadly. He was always on edge around people, no matter how long he'd been around them. After all, he was never sure when someone seemingly harmless might turn hostile on a split second's notice.

As he stood up, Fritz made sure his hat was secure and adjusted his hoodie. He began walking towards a small side door, when he heard Pride's order to stay inside the base. He'd just missed his opportunity to leave scot-free and that infuriated him. He was intent on holding his emotions back for the time being though, getting on Pride's bad side on a day like today was a death sentence and he knew it. He let out a rather angry sigh, walked back over to where he had been sitting previously, and flopped back down in his chair.

Greed

Upon returning to home base Amy hefted her box of supplies inside. No use in letting the cops potentially pick up a bunch of shady merchandise in Jenna’s car – they would probably impound the car if they knew what was inside the box and then Jenna would be furious. So Amy lugged it into the base and headed for the armoire where they kept their weapons.

She trusted Jenna to give Pride the low down on why they were back so early. Besides, she could hear them from the armoire and would lend backup when needed. Giving a polite nod to Wrath that she wasn't even sure he'd seen she set the box down quietly beside the armoire. She'd made the mistake of spooking him once so she tried to be extra quiet around him.

Wasting no time she pulled a small knife from her pocket and slit it through the tape that sealed the box. Opening the flaps she began quickly opening doors and hitting the switches for secret compartments where the more risquĂ© items were kept and started to put everything away. She knew herself – if she didn’t put the things away as soon as she brought them in she’d wait until Pride scolded her into cleaning up.

The medial task gave her time to reflect and focus on the issue. Why were there so many cops out in Sin? What had changed to make them flock here like vultures to a corpse? Who were they looking for?

She didn’t have any more answers by the time she was done. So she rose to her feet and flattened the box. There weren’t really recycling trucks in Sin, but Amy liked to save the boxes and return them to the stores when she could. If she couldn’t recycle she could always reuse. Putting the box by the door so she would remember to take it with her next time Jenna and her set out Amy turned and headed for Pride’s office.

The door was open, but still she peeked her head in first. When Pride glanced at her she felt her face flush at the unspoken irritation for her lagging. Coughing lightly she walked in and murmured an apology before backing up Jenna.

“Sloth is right, they’re all over the place. Even on the outskirts,” Amy agreed. She knew Pride was plotting though; he had that look about him. A weird kind of glee that she’d noticed occasionally came with unexpected trials to face. The challenge always seemed to entice him.

Whatever made him break out of mister grumpy-foul-britches mood was fine by her.

Amy smiled a little at her own thoughts. “What do you want us to do, Mon Capitaine?” she asked suddenly eager to get moving again. Sitting around hiding from the cops wasn’t her idea of a fun plan and it looked to her like Pride had something much more interesting on his mind.
