Pride sat sprawled out on the large couch, one leg extended lazily in front of him, the other propped up for comfort. His left arm rested across the back cushion, bent at an angle to allow two long fingers to rest at his temple in contemplation. He had been sitting in this position silently ever since he came down to join the others which was worrying enough in its own right. The fact that he appeared to be edging closer to yelling at the first person to look at him the wrong way was another red flag. Those who knew him best would understand, however, that his present mood was only fleeting. It would dissipate once he decided to drag Lust away from the others to create plans for their next move.
By this point everyone in the room had picked up on the gossip of another rival gang. To them, it was simply another group of leaches that needed to be taught a lesson. Every once in a while, Pride caught glances out of the corner of his eye as the rest of the gang waited for him to give the word for action. So far he hadn't provided it. Nor had he said much about it. Only a couple of days ago he had disclosed to Gluttony, in private, that their new rivals would be more difficult to hunt down and get rid of due to the fact that they were not branded. How did he know this? He did not say. It was simply a fair warning of what was to come, a reason to be on the look-out for any suspicious activity around them. One thing was for certain, he wasn't going to sit around and wait for an attack to come. He would put the gang on the offensive soon. And to do that he needed to speak with Lust about their plan of attack.
He would have preferred to have Gluttony in on the meeting as well, but before he had a chance to pull himself out of his thoughts the man himself spoke up. Pride looked around at the first sign of life in what seemed to be hours now, his intent gaze catching onto Gluttony's much more eager one. He held it until the other male looked away, and then moved to get up from his spot. In the years he had known Gluttony and his rather... odd... taste, he had never made a move to stop him from doing what he needed to get his fix. It was an unspoken understanding between them that Pride would not stand in the way of his preferred nourishment so long as Gluttony didn't let it interfere in the gang's business. So far the arrangement had worked out in both of their favors and neither saw a reason to change it.
While Lust contemplated there being no reason not to let him wander off, Pride made his way silently over to the cabinets that stood the length of the far wall of the room. It held quite a number of different weapons and gadgets that he had Greed collect over the last year. They were often used, lost, or thrown away to be replaced by newer models, keeping their stash updated and afloat for any jobs they needed to undertake. This time, when he returned to the general group, he was holding two ear pieces in his hand. He tossed one of them to Gluttony, keeping the other for himself.
"These ones are still untapped by the Virtues," he spoke. "Keep it on you. If you see Jared's gang wandering around, let me know first and inform them that their payment is coming due in full this week. I need to speak with him." There was, of course, a secondary reason for keeping a line of contact open. Where-as normally Pride might have sent Sloth to drive him, he understood that Gluttony likely didn't want anyone from the gang tailing him lest they figure out what he was up to. There was strength in numbers, however, and Pride was not about to let his second-in-command be captured with no way to track him.
"If anyone else has any other business to attend to, I suggest doing so tonight," he added, his gaze scanning the others in the room, resting on each of the members in turn. It wasn't exactly an exciting night, but even this reprieve was better than letting them all sit idle while they waited. He let them break off into their own usual groups, only turning to one to hold her back from joining in on the leisurely time.
"Lust," he called her attention, looking over to her. Wordlessly, he motioned toward the door and simply turned to leave the room as a signal for her to follow.
