Worshiped figures in Vasquera.

Description

Gods

Avelle
Image
Title: Goddess of Victory
Description: Guides battles in favor of the righteous and is given praise after a successful battle.
History: Though not quite the goddess of intervention as is expected of Ginerva and Tyr, she enjoys the spoils of battle but does so with a just mindset, always looking toward the brighter sides of things despite her natural affinity to war and conquest. She directs battles as she would an orchestra, taking pleasure and satisfaction in drawing battles dangerously close so that their eventual victories would be just that much sweeter, especially exciting when the losing faction suddenly makes a vicious comeback and crushes their opponents.

Daedrus
Image
Title: The Dragon God
Description: Holds absolute domain over its kin. No worship is involved.
History: Sometimes called the First Dragon, Daedrus is responsible for the existence of every other dragon on Vasquera. It is easily the most powerful of the dragons as well, standing many times higher than the largest of their kind. Unlike most its children, it is a sentient creature and is capable of communicating with most of the other races, though it is only ever used when it is necessary.

Ginerva
Image
Title: Goddess of Fate
Description: Oversees the lives of mortals and is praised in times of misfortune.
History: Not much is known about the Goddess of Fate, other than the fact that she is often regarded as an enigma of sorts, mysterious in a way that both harms and benefits. She maintains power over the actions of those who would live in Vasquera, carefully deciding their destinies and walks of life. Not even the gods fully understand the basis of her judgment, but even they were not ones to speak ill of her choices. Speculation has it that Xeralia, the rumored Goddess of Discord, had once served under Ginerva’s command.

Illivas
Image
Title: God of Chaos
Description: Currently residing within Aerion’s soul, the God of Chaos is worshiped by the frenzied and bloodthirsty.
History: Before the God of Chaos was recognized as Illivas or even a god at all, it had been referred to as the Dark Force, a thick, eerie mist that crept into unsuspecting lands and turned its denizens completely mad, driving them to kill one another in a fit of unspeakable rage and lunacy. By the time it had garnered worldwide notice, it had found a way to manifest itself by finding a host, taking the body of Illivas, a cultist leader known for his unmatched cruelty, strength, and intelligence. Satisfied with this form, he used it to carry out most of his destruction for centuries to come, making himself known as the God of Chaos. However, it was not long after that when Tyr had taken action against him with the assistance of Ashia and Avelle. Ashia had been slain in combat and it was ultimately Vehas, his companion, who had banished Illivas once more into his ethereal form. Ages had passed since that day and once more, he had returned to walk Vasquera in the body of one known as Aerion.

Nier
Image
Title: God of Death
Description: Reaps wandering souls into the underworld. No worship is involved.
History: Sowing the seeds of death in mortals and harvesting when the time has come, Nier was less of a force to be feared and more of one to be accepted. It is an acknowledged part of the cycle of life, taking drifting souls and placing them where they belong. It watches over the nether realms but does not seem willing to take action, never intervening outside of its work either in the underworld or the surface world.

Ninous
Image
Title: The Silver Goddess
Description: Goddess of beauty, purity, eternity and peace. Patron deity of Abbedon. Prayed to all across the world.
History: Born of a small fraction of the First Primordial's – Kras – power, Ninous is, ironically, the youngest of the recognized gods. When a jetting of the Great Ender's power broke from its realm and descended upon the divine planes the gods feared what might form in its wake. Unable to destroy the growing god, they set out to purify it in hopes to pacify the forming threat. Thus, the newly born Ninous took shape. The most beautiful of all the gods, Ninous became the embodiment of purity, peace and, a trapping of her "parent", eternity. Mortals pray to her far and wide for eternal life, beauty of the flesh and, perhaps most importantly, the end of strife. It is often thought Ninous is a goddess of nature as she is often depicted surrounded by animals. It is speculated that Ninous favors the Empire - for it was she who purified the scourge of The Rake from the world before blessing Emperor Marcus as her champion. Today, it said Ninous resides in the Empress Anya - a living vessel for the Silver Goddess.

Raeesh
Image
Title: God of Catastrophe
Description: Causes incredible levels of destruction at will, but can be appeased with sacrifices. No worship is involved.
History: Raeesh has always been a trouble maker among the gods, and while there were other who were certainly more violent than him, he was one of the few who knew exactly what he was doing and what that could mean for the world. Tyr, the Goddess of Protection, fearing the consequences of his incessant rampaging, decided to silence him once and for all. In the fierce battle that ensued, she had managed to hack off his legs and indefinitely stunt their regeneration abilities. Furious, Raeesh managed to stay composed for long enough until she went away after he had promised to agree to her terms. He had then decided to play things on his own terms, demanding one hundred sacrifices from neighboring kingdoms per day, else he would unleash disasters of untold scale should they choose to disobey. The threat also stayed on the account that he would do so if he noticed Tyr approaching him, effectively putting him in a safe spot from any kind of harm. The nearby nations, forced to stay in fear of his wrath, hope to this day that some powerful figure would appear in place of the Goddess of Protection and end his reign.

Sinbrach
Image
Title: God of Mysticism
Description: Controlling the flow of magic, he is often praised by apprentice wizards and magi.
History: It is said by many that all magic stems from this strange being. He bestows power and knowledge to aspiring magi or imbues entities with magic innately. He undisputedly holds dominance over all manners of wizardry, opening new worlds of possibility into Vasqueran mortals. Many sorcerers and users of magic give thanks to him and his divine providence, especially those who would consider themselves gifted in the arts. Most other gods tend to keep their distance from Sinbrach, possibly in fear of his powers or odd nature.

The Devourer
Image
Title: God of Possession
Description: Advocates excessive consumption and imperialism, The Devourer is worshiped mainly by the Carthim.
History: The Carthim faith revolves around the Devourer, whose teachings involve rabid consumption and the hoarding of material possessions, taking and taking more. Worshiped by the Carthim of In Carta Hör, it holds a very militaristic following whose magi have been known to set forth large swarms of flies and locusts infamous for being capable of shredding organisms down to the very bone.

Tyr
Image
Title: Goddess of Protection
Description: Divine providence into the lives of mortals, she is praised in times of good fortune and safety.
History: Tyr is known as something of a savior to the human race, the original defender of mankind and life on Vasquera as a whole. She is regarded as one of the most important gods in existence, lending a divine hand to those who need it the most. The selfless god, as some would call her, is just that, always putting herself in danger before others and making the safety of mortals a top priority. She keeps an eye on the gods to make sure they are in check, particularly the God of Catastrophe, Chaos, and Fury. It was also she who permanently crippled Raeesh in battle, rooting him to one spot for the rest of his eternal life, though that was not sufficient to stop him from creating disasters all over the surface of Vasquera. Some radicals even go as far as to blame her for his newly formed rites. A number of scholars suggest that a manifestation of her will lives within Enith, the Wandering Paragon.

Tzeon
Image
Title: God of Fury
Description: Instilling fear and wrath, he feeds off of havoc and vengeance and is worshiped in times of hatred towards others.
History: Tzeon is a fearsome demon of war, standing taller than any of the other gods. First records of this god had classified him as a wandering titan, roaming aimlessly with a sword in hand. Despite his terrifying appearance, he generally remained calm and did not cause much of any trouble. However, nearby humans and other creatures that were in his vicinity would exhibit excessively aggressive behavior, causing anything from family conflict to full-blown civil war. Blamed for these acts of violence, brave armies set forth to conquer the colossus only to be crushed immediately by overwhelming force. Some have proposed that the effort itself had triggered something in him, as after that point in time, he had displayed many more acts of violence even when unprovoked, perhaps still brooding in that long lost time of blame.

Ystess
Image
Title: The Grim God
Description: God of madness, festivity, fear and deformities. Worshipped by a fanatical cult spread out in pockets across the world.
History: Despite the epithet, Ystess is most often depicted with a warped, hideous smile on his face set beneath empty black holes instead of eyes. The name comes not from his countenance, but his influence. Ystess is a mad god - if such a being could truly exist. He spends his time corrupting humans; creating abominations and aberrations. Horrible monstrosities to populate mocking cities hidden on the surface or far underground. The worst part of these.. mutations.. is that they are always inflicted with wide and eerily joyful smiles, comically giddy voices, and their minds beset by a twisted jubilation. They will warmly greet a traveler at the same instance as disemboweling them, thinking nothing of this at all. Not much is known of Ystess himself. He rarely reveals himself to mortals. The few instances it has been confirmed he appeared to masses of mortals documented that such occurrences are known as "Celebrations". During these visits, many die instantly upon witnessing his appearance, while others are morphed into horrid shapes. Throughout the course of the Celebration, food and drink and music will be plentiful - supplied by wretched nightmares from his personal realm - all of which will ultimately leave not a single living human as they once were. All will have been wrought with the Grim God's afflictions, forever under his weave.

Vehas
Image
Title: The Guardian God
Description: Protects the last Ashian Temple and is worshiped in place of the dead god, who had once reigned over the prosperity of mortals.
History: Ashia was once known as the God of Prosperity, hailed by many nations in hopes of wealth, diplomatic peace, and technological progress. He was an incredibly giving god and saw to the rise of many great nations and kingdoms. Ashia had taken ownership of a pet he had named Vehas, a mountainous beast of animated stone rumored to contain a heart of pure fire. The massive lands that had been cultivated and developed was seen by the God of Chaos as a massive harvest yield; millions were slaughtered in one fell swoop as he and his forces invaded and overran the peaceful, prospering empires. Even with the help of Tyr and Avelle, Illivas was simply too difficult to put down. Ashia was eventually killed in battle at the hands of the mad god himself. The stone giant Vehas mourned its master’s death, wells of flame erupting from its core and permanently veining its body with rivulets of lava and fire. With its incredible strength, Vehas banished Illivas and forced him into an ethereal form so that he may never interfere with the world of gods and mortals again. Since that day, it had never left its place at the last Ashian Temple, protecting its sanctity with its life.

Primordials

Kras
Image
Title: The Bringer of the End
Description: Primordial of Time and the End. Worshiped by the Ogres and those who wish its power.
History: Little is known about The Great Ender. Even the gods know only a little and mortals know even less. What is known is that it is unimaginably old – its endless birth, some say, dawning time itself. Being the First of The Primordials, even the name Kras is but a fabrication, a wish to bring title to an unknown. With its age comes frightening power; so powerful, in fact, that a mere off-shoot of power that escapes Kras' realm can form gods in its wake. The goddess Ninous herself is one of its "children." Kras, the gods believe, is asleep. They know and they fear that when it awakes in times unknowable, all of existence will be silenced. The Bringer of The End. So absolute is the gods' fear for the First Primordial that the very concept of dread, once blissfully unknown, sank into the mortal mind. Kras is worshiped by its Ogre "children" and those who seek to bring the silence of Kras' power into the world. Some have tried to summon tiny slivers of the End Bringer's will to the world - horrific events that see only devastation within their wake.

The Ancestor
Image
Title: The Black One
Description: Primordial of Space, darkness and the abyss. Worshiped by a very select few, including the Sidheghul and the Brood.
History: Frighteningly little is known of the Ancestor, Second of the Primordials. Among the Brood, it is a being to be feared – revered, but never truly called upon. They pray to it to keep it at bay. The dread tribe Sidheghul was formed under the Ancestor's guidance, only to be eradicated several centuries later. Those who have heard this being speak tell of several lines it repeats, most notably: “There is no tomorrow,” along with offers to seemingly save the individual or group being spoken to. The confronted recall being chilled, and feeling the entity more than perceiving it with their eyes. The Ancestor has no true form, nor gender – it can assume an avatar, but most often “appears” as a shapeless, invisible mass of energy recognized by the viewer as the being itself. The breadth of its power has never been witnessed- though among the Sidheghul those who betrayed the tribe, and therefore the Ancestor, were punished via having their tongues burned out, followed by their eyes and the rest of their bodies finally being consumed.

The Architect
Image
Title: Master of the Forge of Creation
Description: Primordial of Matter and both the physical and celestial bodies made from it. Worshiped by many, including both monarchs and craftsmen.
History: No one knows the true form of The Architect. Descriptions of its appearance are scarce, and what little is found are vague and wildly different between sources. However the effects of the Third Primordial's touch are felt everywhere. Many planets, stars and organisms are all forged and brought into existence by the great world builder. There are even myths suggesting that the Architect would occasionally go as far as to meddle with mortal affairs in order to build entire civilizations. The Architect is obsessed with the creation of new entities, and many seek some of its great knowledge so they might bring forth wonderful creations of their own. However, once the architect is finished with a "project" it will often be abandoned, leaving the completed work to either grow or rot on its own in the passing of time. Many of The Architect's more miraculous creations can still be found in the world today in the form of incredible structures and devices of impossible design and unknown purpose. Some of these objects hold terrible unconstrained power though, and often can be dangerous to be encountered by the foolish and the unprepared.

Namashadva
Image
Title: The Blind Idiot
Description: Primordial of Nature; the nature of the universe, encompassing the laws of physics and the forces – such as gravity – therein. Worshiped by none.
History: The Fourth Primordial, the “Idiot God”, knows no emotion; has no disposition. It favors none, listens to no one, cares for nothing. It neither wakes nor sleeps, sees nor hears, touches nor feels. It is simply there. Pure, perfect existence; ruling over those forces within its domain with cold neutrality, having nothing to do with the affairs of other Primordials, gods or mortals. It never interferes, never meddles. It roils within itself: amorphous lights; eternally expanding and imploding simultaneously – its churning fueling the anchors of reality, keeping worlds in their orbits and stars in their wells. It is the Blind Idiot whom holds in place the force of gravity: the binder and the holder. As such, it is not praised by any; its name never lifted on the lips of mortals for any reason. Even were this done, there would come no answer save silence.
