Backstory:
Jeremy had lived a normal life on Earth, although, he considered it normal. Others may consider it something else...
With his mind 'wired up' differently, Jeremy had always had it tough in school. Acting up and causing disruption in his classes simply because he found the work too easy or simply boring. This lead on to being exiled from the rest of his classmates, allowing him to focus more on things he enjoyed himself; researching.
Once entering university, Jeremy's abilities in microbiology were finally recognised. During networking events, he had easily caught the eye of many employers and research committees. In his second year, he had already taken part in a few scientific papers and journals, with his great mind easily influencing the research and allowing the microbiological world to be changed. Of course, the higher researchers took all of the glory, leaving Jeremy as a simple background influence.
His existence was finally recognised by the scientific community once Jeremy had gained his doctorate; the thesis he had written (Photosynthesis in Humans, artificial evolution) had caught the eyes of a large handful of eager scientists, all of which wanted to further the work under his command. Sadly, all of the research was done in vain. It was simply an idea which worked in theory, but not in practice. The scientists quickly began to leave the team one by one as they soon figured out futility of the work, quickly leading to the abandonment of the project. However, Jeremy had always had a strange feeling of his work, something his mind could easily figure out, but not think of why; There was something missing.
After a few years of working alone on his work, Jeremy had gained contact from NanoTrensen. A request to join the Phasma Research Facility, DELTA13. The simple mention of the word 'Phasma' gave Jeremy the biggest epiphany he had ever experienced, Phasma could be that missing 'something' in his research. The one strange substance humanity has yet to understand, this could be opening to a new human race, the one which Jeremy had always wanted. And so, he accepted...
