Appearance: Mai is a little bit shorter than her brother Kai, but they still look shockingly alike. They both have the same fawn brown hair. Mai’s reaches just below her shoulder blade. Her eyes are different colors. One is grey, while the other is blue. From far away it is hard to tell a difference, but up close everyone can notice. She has light skin, which is very soft. She has dustings of freckles across her cheeks and the bridge of her nose. She also has freckles on her shoulders, but no anywhere else. She has a half-heart shaped birth mark on her right hand, and Kai has the other half on his left hand. When they hold hands it makes a heart.
Clothing: School Uniform: Pale blue serfuku with a long, grey sweater underneath. Pale blue skirt to match, with grey thigh highs and black, stylish combat boots. Her regular outfit is a short red skirt, or short cut off jeans with either a white, flowy shirt or a tank top. She wears either no shoes, or her combat boots.

Likes: Anything cute and cuddly, mysteries, adventure, the snow, snuggling, Kai, bracelets
Dislikes: Spiders, Kai being in danger, Kai being mad at her
Personality: She is a very bubbly kind of girl. She is cute and often has a smile on her face. She is very loving and gentle. She is a bit naïve. She isn’t necessarily the shy, quit type, but she rarely gets loud. She is fun loving and always wanting to do something. She gets bored very easily, but can also be entertained by the simplest of things. She get’s distracted easily, but if someone catches her eye, she will give them all her attention. She loves Kai with her whole heart and they are rarely seen without the other.
Background: Mai and Kai grew up on the outskirts of Shirakue, farm kids in a sense. They only had one cow on this so called farm, though. They were raised by their grandparents, so they heard stories about these demons all their lives. Mai believed them whole heartedly. Her Mammy believed them just like her, but Papa wasn't as convinced. Kai thought they were just tales told to scare kids. He enjoyed listening to the stories, but didn't believe one word of it. They have gone to the same school all their life and absolutely love it here. Their mother died in child labor with Kai, while Mai was still in the womb. To their father's horror, they had to cut his wife open to get his daughter out. He loved his children very much, and Mai's name was supposed to be Farah, but he changed it to Mai, after theirmother. The two grew up with their father until they were 6. He got called by his Uncle and there was family emergency. He left and never came back. Sometimes, Kai and Mai get strange letters that Mai thinks are from him. At first Kai let Mai believe it, and keep the vague letters, but then he stopped telling her when they came. He told her he didn't believe it was him, and kept the letters to himself. He wanted so badly to believe they were from their father, but he was afraid to face the truth, so he has the unopened letters hidden under a floorboard in his room. He thought he was wrong though, and he didn't want to see Mai cry everytime another one came. She got so sad because she couldn't understand why he wouldn't just come home. Like most things he does that seem harmful to Mai on the surface, it has a deeper purpose that protects her from getting truely hurt.
