Alyxxandra Mae McKay's Story

*scene change*

After a day and a half of riding they were halfway there, of course they were riding in a normal fashion and not in any sort of hurry. Emily road along side Kuro while Petra and Alyxx road just behind them. They had formed a solid group in case anything were to catch them unaware.

Alyxx though quiet was sharing a comfortable silence with Petra.

Alyxx had noticed the lack of animals..not even birds in the trees, if there was animals they were defiantly in hiding. The question was, what were they hiding from?

Emily was catching a oder, it smelled like nothing she'd ever come a crossed..it smelled like rotting animal almost and she wondered if maybe there was a forgotten deer carcass nearby. She gagged a little as the stench got worse. "What is that horrible stench?"

Alyxx looked at her funny and then caught the smell on the light breeze. Alyxx was surprised by the smell for a moment and then made the connection. It was the same smell she had encountered among the disease ridden weres. "Their coming for us! We must have been downwind of them! Set the horses free, they will return to us..but if they stay they will be slaughtered." Alyxx jumped off her horse and gave it a smack on the rear to set her running.

Emily slid off and the reins were caught on her foot and she fell to the ground. Her horse ran off after Alyxx's. As Emily looked up from her spot on the ground she saw glassy eyes blink near the trunk of the tree in front of them. The things had found them. Emily started to shake with fear and almost screamed as Alyxx pulled her to her feet.

"Don't scream, their partially blind, and they will attack, but if you scream..they will know exactly where you are. Watch." Alyxx whispered in extremely hushed tones. She thew a rock and it landed close to the tree line, a black bear head reached out and snapped just above where the stone had landed. It's face was covered in puss and rotting flesh. One eye had fallen out and was swinging with the movement of the head.

Petra lay face down on an infirmary bed, her back was completely rapped now, and had had herbal medicines on it to attempt to draw the poisons virus from her back. It worked only because she was human. She was sleeping now, they'd taken her clothes and put a blanket on to her lower back, showing the freshly changed bandages. Kuro was still lucky to be this close to her, Kuro had been forced to leave the room, they'd taken advantage of the fact that he did need to wash the blood of himself to take care of Petra. He could get the virus from her and he'd needed to be safe but Alyxx had helped him get back in, arguing the fact that the virus had been drawn from Petra already. Now Kuro and Alyxx sat on either side of the bed quietly.

Alyxx woke with a start when she heard someone come into the room of the infirmary. She had fallen asleep rather late last night and had nightmares on and off for hours. Her hair was messy her clothes were wrinkled from sleeping in a chair.
