Gossamer is, in a way, a being made of light. She is capable of phasing between normal, visible color, and pure white light. As such, when she phases out of existence, she can not be touched; it is as though she is not there. A hand or weapon will simply slip into the warm light.
Personality
She is a quiet, gentle girl, generally reserved from the rest of the world. She prefers warm placed without too much light or shadow, so she isn't often seen out of her cage. She can be tortured simply by turning out the lights; or shining a flashlight at her. The inability to be touched has made her frightened and oddly clingy. She can never actually cling to someone, but she wants to be able to, and so she hovers very close and almost enjoys any attention that she can get, in any form. Of course, because a lot of this attention is negative, she is also timid. She jumps at the slightest loud noise or sudden movement. She is obedient; it is not difficult to manipulate her into doing pretty much anything.
Brief Description
For a while, it was thought that she was just an unlucky albino child, but it was soon learned that she was much more than near-white hair, bright blue eyes and colorless skin. She is tall and slender, graceful, and would be attractive if she weren't so completely, unnaturally pale. She has a light, drifting voice which seems to flutter when she speaks, wavering like the light from which she seems to be made. Her skin is flawless, because nothing has ever harmed it. Her body reacts instinctively to anything which approaches her; as such, so far as she can remember, no one has ever touched her skin. She simply phases into light when someone tries.
Likes
Bright places, games, freedom, chocolate, flowers, animals, birdsong.
Dislikes
The Ringmaster, her light-phase, the fact that she can not be touched, being called Goss, death, darkness.
Strengths
She can not be touched.
Weaknesses
She is easily manipulated; anyone with even a bit of power can bend her to their will. She wants nothing more than to be touched.
Mask
It is pale, like she is, but it is also beautiful, which she wishes she were. She is beautiful, but she doesn't recognize it.
History
As a child, she was mistreated. She couldn't be held by her mother, as far as she remembers, because she would phase and just fall to the floor. At the age of four, this became too much to handle; her parents couldn't take her out, couldn't control her, couldn't let her come in physical contact with anyone else. They began to hide her away in the cellar, but she was afraid of the dark, and often escaped from her basement prison. It was on one of these escapades that she came across the Ringmaster and Di Morte. She never went back.
Crush
She can't help but stare at Andrei... and he's nice to her... what is this feeling?
Side
She is with the Ringmaster, because she fears death, which would certainly come if he was gone.
Other
Gossamer almost always dresses in smooth silk, because it seems to be the only thing which can actually touch her skin without making her phase.
