A magically warped entity, bound to a stabilising mask as a twisting mass of energy.
Chaotic, yet a strange notion of 'method to his madness' pervades its actions. Is constantly seeking items, locations and people of power, but what he inevitably does with them is hard to tell. An unholy drive to consume moves him forward in his moments of blinded chaos, though he does not truly wish to do such a thing.
Mask- The curious mask that binds its chaos together is a powerful magical instrument. It consumes magical energy, turning it into raw wild magic, a chaotic form of magic that is as unpredictable as it is powerful. The mask cannot be destroyed by anything short of tearing it apart at an atomic scale. It regenerates damage quickly as it eats away ambient magic.
Mage's Bane - Krei emits an aura of anti-magic around itself. Enchantments lose power, spells drift away and that which has been conjured or summoned finds its binds to reality being eaten away. Its nature makes it so that energy around it is consumed by its presence, though if this benefits it it all it cannot be told. Only objects that are very close to him are affected.
Uncertain Physical State - Krei appears to be made of liquid, constantly flowing, though it can be as though gaseous or solid at will. The raw chaotic energies of its magical body allow it to somehow occupy these three states of being simultaneously. The only thing that cannot change is its mask, which will always be solid. It is thin enough to slide between small bars, but not grates, mesh or solid matter.
A powerful sorceror, Krei sought to understand the nature of reality and magic itself. With an approach to magic as though it were a careful science, he found himself growing very rapidly in power and knowledge while irrevocably tainting himself with the raw power of wild magic. His studies on wild magic were of some renown in the magical research community, namely for the reason that wild magic was often too dangerous to study. It was reasoned that if this man had survived as long as he had in the study of wild magic and had simultaneously gained such knowledge from it, he must be incredibly powerful.
His secret was a well-crafted mask that acts almost like an anchor to reality. The anti-magic field it created stemmed from its consumption of chaotic energies such as magic. It bound Krei to reality, so that he would not be destroyed by the violent whims of wild magic. Unfortunately, Krei did not factor in his own magical tainting. The corruption that had already filled him was impossible to remove and only served as a conduit for the wild magic to destroy him from the inside out.
On yet another dangerous experiment, Krei finally slipped up. Accidentally exposing himself to the full force of his experiment's chaotic energies, his mask's anti-magic finally was overwhelmed, allowing the energies to warp and twist him into a chaotic blob. The mask proved vital at the last moment, as it held onto fragments of Krei's consciousness and will. Despite his magic-induced madness and wild-magic form, a rational mind still lurks within, holding on by a thread. It seeks redemption.
