Introduction
As I walk through the valley in the shadow of death,
I shall fear no evil as I carry Thy command,
From my hands a river will flow forth to thee,
Carrying the souls for which I am given strength,
For thee my Lord it shall be done,
For I am your shepherd, your eternal son."
Long ago, boys and girls of exceptional strength and cunning were chosen by a sect within the chruch known commonly as Templars, to hunt and kill "ynholy beings" in the name of God and all fo humanity. It was deemed that humans had fallen prey to the creatures for too long, and it was time to firmly place humans at the top of the worldly hierarchy. Trained from an early age, the chosen were referred to only as Disciples of Ash, as their family given names no longer mattered. For centuries the Disciples hunted the creatures in secret, the knowledge of such existences falling into folklore and myth. To this day they still operate discreetly, living among regular humans everyday, and protecting them from beings beyond their comprehension. This is one of their stories.
The Disciples operate separate from any church, under the constant watch of their parent organization, The Templars. Within each major city, four to five exist to protect the people of the city and the surrounding areas. The Disciples aren;t required to be devout. nor even truly believe, the only true criteria is strength enough to defeat the monsters of legend. Each Disciple has a codename, and a fake name for their "normal" lives. Along with this, each has a prayer that they themselves created on the day of their official acceptance into the Disciples. The prayer is considered to be a sacred tradition and most be said before each battle the Disciple involves themselves in. Disciples work solo, but are known to work as a group quite often.
Disciple Hierarchy
Templars
Head Disciple
Section Leader
Disciple
The roleplay takes place in the original city of Lost Haven.
There are four Disciples in this city as the fifth was just found dead in her apartment this morning, Section Leader Crimson. She was hanging from the wall, well, most of her was. The police are ruling it as the act of a serial killer, due to the violent and gruesome nature. She was the area's section leader. As such a Templar has arrived in Lost Haven almost immeidately following the news of her death to appoint a new Section Leader. The roleplay will start just before the arrival of the Templar, the Disciples sitting in their safehouse awaiting his arrival.
There are 3 Disciple spots open as well as possible antagonist spots (Which I won't give a limit on yet). The thing that killed the Section Leader is not open however. As far as what type of creature you can be, anything from lore or myth is available as long as its not ridiculously over-powered, like Khali the Destroyer for example. But, demons, vampires, lycans, etc. are fine. No angels as it wouldn't work in context of the rp. You can play a normal human who just gets mixed up in everything, but try to work it in with a little bit of finesse.

Re: Disciples of Ash
Though I had planned on the character being able to absorb weaker and dying demons, via the demon part of him. But that felt a bit too much.
But if it's not allowed, I can make a normal Disciple just like everyone else. ^_^
Re: Disciples of Ash
No, it doesn't have to be Abrahamic faith.
@TnevdaNai
Yeah, skills are swords, guns, being charismatic, etc. Also, I would like to what the demonic trait is. Because, depending on the demonic trait he/she can be a Disciple or someone else. But, the trait would have to be something acquired without the knowledge of the Templar's or Section Leader.
Re: Disciples of Ash
Which also brings me to my next question...what do the 'skills' mean? Do you have certain supernatural powers, or does it mean skills such as efficiency with the blade or gun, etc. Something along those lines?
Just want to clarify things a bit. :)
