Background - Isolde's family background is fairly normal, mundane and perhaps boring if you think about it. Her parents encouraged a love of the outdoors, and many summers were spent camping and backpacking at various state parks and wilderness areas. Isolde had always had a love and fascination with the heavens, and hoped as a child to eventually become an astronaut. But like all childhood dreams, it was a slow realization after many years spent almost adrift without much purpose. Enlisting into the Air Force, Isolde hoped to find purpose and meaning, not to mention a way to pay for school. Years later, she has now more than fulfilled her most basic of childhood dreams.
