"Sorry. That was kind of a stupid question anyway.." I watched him for a moment and stood up. I brushed myself off.
"Nice to meet you though. " I said. "But I have to go. I'll see you guys later." I waved and walked past the swingset toward the gravel road. I glanced around for squirrels and smiled wryly at myself.

"Pleasure to meet you, Alex." She waved as the other girl left. "The usual "Football players don't date band geeks and only date cheerleaders" thing? When I was in highschool (i only went for a year) I was the skater girl, the outsider." She rested her head against the tree and looked up at him.

" Boy, those girls really tried to tear Lauren apart. I mean, she would just cry on my shoulders sometimes telling me all the nasty things they said behind her back after we started a relationship. "

"No, I ran away a few years ago to get away from the school drama and my parents. Well my adopted dad. He tried being a rockstar, but only took up the lifestyle of one. The drinking, the partying and the ignoring got be too much. So I picked up my stuff," She gestured to her small amount of 'stuff'. Just an iPod, pen and a hoodie. "And left."
"I wasn't the kind of person to be in a school band. I was more the quiet kid who didn't talk to anyone. Occasionally people would want to take me to the skatepark and stuff, but I only went if they specifically asked."

Collectibles
