Näerks Que

"Are you the one whom I'm searching for all these years?"

0 · 415 views · located in Tal'Eldramein

a character in “Emerôn: A World of Incredible Things”, as played by Dementedness

Description

Näerks Que

Darast’Rek| Warrior | Male ♂ | 27 years old, by rumors.

Image
Näerks has a well build body; he may not appear to be able to lift a building, but his muscles doesn’t remain undefined. It may because his odd-shaped sword looks heavy on its own. Returning to his pale skinned body, his light blond hair flows from the spiked up down to the long rive to the bottom of his neck. Standing his feet, he measures about 6’6, while his body weights around 195 pounds. His eyes are silvered eyes match his top sleeveless shirt, while metallic warmers assured a protection of his forearms. His brown pants assured for a swift movement, and his boots had a bronze plate in them on top of his feet.

He’s the type of guy whom everybody knows only by rumors. Although his name is somewhat known, he is usually nicknamed ‘Unseen Umbra’ because he often appears out of no where when someone is in need, or just for a fight, and he’s most often seen with dark colored oufits. He’s neither good nor bad, but found his way to have a goal in his mind: Find the one that could match him. Näerks found his time boring and want to see if someone could match him into a brawl, and it was his case of several conflict with literally every class of people; poor or right, he doesn’t acknowledge their importance. Even if his life is based on fights, he does like adventure times to times, which is why he prefers to travel than stay in a place within a month. Even appeared quite harsh, if you don’t pick the wrong side of him, he will be soft and easy.

Näerks’ story is based on rumors that tavern tellers often talk about him, or something that he might be involved in. One thing was clear; he wasn’t just a normal human. The place he’d traveled through at this moment didn’t make sense, since it would take days, even weeks to reach them. However, he appeared there, maybe faster than those falsified stories about him. The truth that himself doesn’t know lays behind the mystery of his coming into this world. Like so, he just appears around, helping the poor and the rich in the moments of battles, depending on who have the upper hand, and his next path became unheard when blood was left from his previous battle. Many wants his head, but there isn’t a large broad of people who dares to care for the man himself, fearing for their lives. His first confirmed kill wasn’t traced at all, since it went back to when he was a child, adopted by parents whom he didn’t know about, and they lived in forest in which he hopes to revisit one day.

So begins...

Näerk Traveled through the air in his shadow dragon form. Normally he was more cautious about being out in the open, but he didn't feel the need to be cautious right now. Even if his head was sold for a high price by some someone, his freedom couldn't be overlook. He soon stops as he finds a crater in the ground. Being a seasoned traveler, it is the first time he stopped on such details, but this one seemed very peculiar . It seemed that whoever did this much damage must be strong. Since there didn't seem to be any sign of conflict, he guessed it could have been there for quite a while, but still his curiosity got the best of him.
He flew down towards the crater, his body morphing back to its human shape fully clothed as he slowly crept through the devastated area. he made sure to remain vigilant of his surroundings; even if there weren't any he pondered on who or what could have caused such a travesty. After scouring the area for what seemed like hours Näerk seemed disappointed in finding nothing to satisfy his curiousity. finding nothing more, he decided to take his leave of this place

Näerks sighed softly; he was just too much on the tip of his toes, reacting to everything in the hope that there is actually something to come out with. If anything, it was just the feeling left of those who done such things to the result of that crater. He moved on pass the crate; his mind have now set it was an unimportant localisation, and set his way to the other city: Tal’Eldramein. He knew that he may have already been there a couple of times, but it is always good to stop for resourcing one’s body.

Before entering in the gorgeous city, he tried his best to hide his magic aura. He knew that there was a majority of people who could read through the aura, and he wouldn’t like people to know what he is. He knew that his origin would bring a lot of questions, and besides, he didn’t like to be spied on. Either way, Näerks decided to pass a bit of his time looking around, walking among the crowd.

Valandil heard his friend chuckle and saw him place his glass down on a table close to them. He heard Ameth say, "You know as well as i do that my business in the guild has become more like the shadows. No dear friend i spend most of my days taking care of my wife and children." And as soon as that came from him Valandil heard a feminine voice call out, "Ameth! you better not be hiding in your basement again!" To that Valandil laughed a bit and saw Ameth shake his head with a smile. He heard Ameth say to him, "Well my friend it looks like she's caught me. I guess this means farewell for now, oh and next time you decide to stop by it would be better if you use the front door." Valandil laughed again chugged his drink and said, "It was good seeing my friend till the next time we meet shall fate always be on your side."

He left out the door as quickly as he had entered and started to walk back to the main streets. He pulled back up his mask and entered the alleyway. As he was walking back he saw something that didn't seem normal for an elven city. There was a man standing taller than all the elves around him. He looked human but was taller than any human Valandil had ever seen. Valandil decided to hide his presence and hide in the shadows following the man whom he found suspicious. He thought that the man didn't belong in the city and decided to watch. If the man did anything he would be sure to stop it quick but if the man were non-hostile he'd leave the man be.

Näerks walked around like if it was casual for him to travel around, even though he felt some thing off that day. First, there was that crater that he found. He didn’t knew if there was anyone that found that too, or it is just there for many years and he didn’t know about it. However, it can’t be overlook that he never heard of such thing before, but he guessed that there wasn’t anything that he could do. The man that stood out of the crowd pretty much just sighed, and get a grip of his sword.

His sword seems to be the only thing that could comfort that he could find around, and since that he felt his head hurting from the noise around him, he quickly made his way to a more unoccupied street, just to make sure that he turns insane from the noise itself. It was a bit weird, but he preferred to be calm, even though he like to be involved in a fight. He continued his way down the street, just calmly. Soon, he stopped in the middle of the road, hearing whispers, like if someone was in his head, and he turned around on himself, looking rather mad.

”Who’s…there?” he dared to ask, unsheating his sword.

Valandil watched from the shadows as the man walked along the crowd. He wondered why the man was there and had such a huge weapon on his back. He watched the man as he grabbed the hilt of the sword and saw slight pain on his face. Valandil dipped to a nearby wall unseen by anyone and watched the man walk down a more unoccupied street. Valandil decided it'd be safer to follow from rooftop so he scaled the wall and crutched once on the roof. He quickly found the man again and listened to him talk out loud, "Who’s…there?” Then the man unsheathed his sword. Valandil didn't see anyone else around so thought the man might have picked up on a bit of his presence so he completely hide what he could. Then decided that the man will needed to be continued to be studied. The reason was because he kept seeming to be more and more of a threat to people around him.

Whatever it was, it got away. He calmed himself down, chuckling softly to himself.

”It much be my imagination….” He tried to convince himself as he sheathed back his sword on his back, and continued down the street he took. He felt a bit tired for now, and would prefer go rest some where. Although, being unused to the city, he didn’t quite know where to go. He roamed quite a while around the city before finding an inn. From there, he looked around to make sure that he won’t be followed from inside, and he stepped into the building.

Of course, some people that was already there, including the owner, turned their head towards him when he enter upon the building. He only make a smile on his face, trying to make himself fell less of threat to the others, since that he felt that because he stands out of the crowd, people could think he was one. Näerks could be a threat easily, but for now, there was no reason of a fight, and it is with a reason that he’ll become a threat to people. In any ways, he made his way up to the counter. He paid a room for the night, since he didn’t know how long he’ll be staying in the city.

The man made his way up to his room, gently closing the door and, looking that there was a window, went to close the curtain. He heard whispers in his head, and prefer to stay away from everyone’s eyes. Though, even if there was some sun rays getting in his room, it was quite dark in his room. He pulled out a candle from his pocket, and putted it down on the desk. It seems to be already used, but there was enough wax for another use. He opened his mouth slightly, and breathe a small flame on the candle to light it up.

He made his way to the bed laying down in it after he putted down his sword next to it, and puts his hands behind his head. The room soon fill with an odd smell of burned, but it seems to be relaxing to Näerks, since he was humming lightly to himself, relaxing. He didn’t care much if the scent got through his door or not, trying to empty his mind.

Valandil watched as the man sheathed the sword and continued down the street. Valandil followed by staying on the roof and tracking him. The man decided to go to an inn that was close by. He waited till the man went inside to jump down from the building into a close by hay bail. He looked through the door as the man walked into a the corridor where rooms were. Valandil took his mask off and went in. He went up to the woman at the counter and said, "Ma'am may I have a room please?" He smiled at her and she said, "That will be 5 silver pieces." Valandil nodded his head and instead handed her 1 gold, "And I'd like two meals please." He then handed the girl another gold for the meals. She seemed so excited to have that much money from one man. Valandil said, "I'll wait over her for the meals."

He sat down and waited a few minutes for the meals. The woman came back with two plates of beef, pastries, some vegetables and came with two glasses of wine. He said, "Thanks if I need anything I'll let you know first." With that the woman smiled nodded and walked away. He ate the first plate and finished off the wine. He felt alittle tipsy from the whisky and now the wine. He took the other plate and wine then got up from the table. He went up to the bar maid, "Did you see a man with a giant sword come in here?" The woman looked a little startled he knew about the man. "He is in the last room in the hall on the left side." Valandil walked down the hall with his cloak covering his backpack and sudi kamas. He smelt something burning in the room and then decided to execute his plan. He knocked on the door and said, "Mister I brought you a complimentary plate of food and wine compliments of the inn." He waited for the man to answer the door so he could get a better inspection of him.

Näerks could feel himself calling down from the relaxation. It is not like being in the plains when you could listen the wind in peace, but it was what he could get for the moment. Without consciousness, he mumbled some kind of prayer to himself. The word that he formed was in a Draconian language. He smiled softly, turning on the bed, and he tried to sleep. What broke his relaxation state is the hearing of knocks on his door. It was such a bad timing, since it was the most crucial part of his relaxation process. Although, he couldn’t ignore the person that just knocked against the door, and brought meal and wine. It was new to him to have a complimentary from the inn. He had to say that the elf specie was quite nicer than other races around. Näerks had to do his best not to express much emotion or else; it might get him dangerously insane.

”Coming.” He said loud enough to the stranger to hear as he rolled out of the bed onto his feet. He slowly made his way to the door, and turned the knob, smiling warmly to the stranger. It was easy to tell his smile was partly forced.

”Thanks you very much; I wasn’t expecting such thing” He chuckled softly as he took the meal and the wine and puts them on the desk next to the lit candle. Näerks turned towards him.

”Anything else?” he asked.

Valandil heard a voice come from the room "Coming." Valandil acted as much like a child as possible and handed the man the plate and wine. He heard the man say, "Thank you very much; I wasn't expecting such things" Valandil smiled and nodded his head at him. He watched as the man put the plate down on the desk by a lit candle with a chuckle. Then heard, "Anything else?" Valandil looked at him thought for a moment and said, "Wow mister you're tall. Much taller than me...and that's a really big sword you have over there." Valandil pointed toward the massive sword. "What do you use a sword that big for? Can you possibly swing that with one hand or do you need both hands? I'm sorry I just don't see outsiders that often and you seem interesting to me." Valandil felt confident that his questions wouldn't be thought of as an adult questioning someone, but as a child asking questions to someone out of curiosity.

Of course, his lack of analyzing didn’t let the suspicion of the person actually being a male. Although, even if the stranger was, Näerks only knew one thing: if he is looking for trouble, he’ll get trouble. Näerks was actually happy that his mind was getting back to a normal state quicker, but it was still dangerous for him to show emotions.

"Wow mister you're tall. Much taller than me...and that's a really big sword you have over there." The stranger commented first, and showed the Näerk’s sword with the tip of his finger. "What do you use a sword that big for? Can you possibly swing that with one hand or do you need both hands? I'm sorry I just don't see outsiders that often, and you seem interesting to me,” he continued with as Näerks chuckled softly. It was obvious that he would be questioned. The tall man walked up to his sword, and took it with one hand, lifting it up with ease on his shoulder, showing he could lift it with one hand.

“Why yes, I can lift this with one hand. However, I’m not sure if anyone else can,” he chuckled softly again. He don’t know anybody that was taller than him, and perharps, some beast will show him that he’s not the tallest in this world. He smiled at the stranger. “I use such a weapon in combat. It is better to have more than one resource on your hand.” Thinking that the little guy would report him to the guards. “Don’t worry; I’m no criminal. I only help people who get in trouble.” It was partially true, but what the kid knew about him? His thoughts only end that the male only knew what he saw and heard from him, and nothing else. He ended with a comment which he thought funny: “Once, the authorities kept me for few hours just because how I looked.” He winked at the child. The tall man kept the rest of the story to himself; that is, how he escaped from the authorities. Fortunately, he got rid of the blood which stuck to his sword for quite a bit.

Valandil heard the man say, “Why yes, I can lift this with one hand. However, I’m not sure if anyone else can,” the man chuckled softly again then he smiled. “I use such a weapon in combat. It is better to have more than one resource on your hand.” Valandil completely agreed with the man thats why he always had daggers hidden on his person. “Don’t worry; I’m no criminal. I only help people who get in trouble.” Then Valandil heard the man say something that one likes to hear, “Once, the authorities kept me for few hours just because how I looked.” Valandil smiled at the man then said, "Well atleast I know I am not the only one that comes into trouble every now and again with authorities." He thought to himself for a second and decided to go on with what he was saying, "I don't know if you can tell but I am not as young as I look. I'm actually 99 years old in human years and 13.5 in elven years. I too go around helping those that need it. I go around hunting down a cult that killed my whole village off and am on their trail." He looked at the man looking at the expression on his face, "I can't say much more unless we go into your room then I can tell you all you want and need to know. And just know no matter what I won't report you, that is unless you report me then I will have to."

Näerks rose an eyebrow as he heard the stranger say: “Well, at least I know I am not the only one that comes into trouble every now and again with authorities.” Even more, the stranger then confessed; “I don't know if you can tell, but I am not as young as I look. I'm actually 99 years old in human years and 13.5 in elven years. I too go around helping those that need it. I go around hunting down a cult that killed my whole village off and am on their trail.” He wondered if the person had some kind of link with the crater that he found earlier in the day, and if that cult could be any related to him, since he had yet to meet someone who shares the same specie. “I can't say much more unless we go into your room then I can tell you all you want and need to know. And just know no matter what I won't report you, that is unless you report me then I will have to.” He finished with.

Näerks didn’t know what to say; yes, he was quite curious about the being that just got here, and in the same time, he really needs to finish his relaxation. Although, he wondered whether he will have any other time for hearing what the little man has to say or not. The tall man smiled warmly towards the stranger, saying: “Well, if you really want to, I would like to hear your story. Although, this is the only room I have. Believe it or not, I sleep more in the wildness than in cities. I know that it is a bit non-private here, but if you don’t mind, I’m okay with it. Unless if you have a better place.” He sighed softly, then he finished his sentence with: “Since you’re so open, I guess that I could say some about me as well while we're talking.”

The man said "“Well, if you really want to, I would like to hear your story. Although, this is the only room I have. Believe it or not, I sleep more in the wildness than in cities. I know that it is a bit non-private here, but if you don’t mind, I’m okay with it. Unless if you have a better place.” Valandil thought for a moment and then decided to say, "In your room is fine. I will explain more when we get in" Valandil walked in the door and shut it behind himself. "So were to start..." He goes over to the window looks around to make sure no one is looking at them then closes the curtains. "I was raised by my parents in a small village in the Valarin Forest. But then Mammon cultists came along one day and slaughtered everyone but me because I hid and my parents sacrificed themselves for my survival." He paused for a second and wiped away a tear, "Then I wandered the woods near starvation when I was attacked by wolves. Luckily for me a man had been walking by and saw me in need. He went and killed the wolves in one swift movement then ask me if I was alright. I told him everything that had happened and he took me in."

Valandil smiled at the memory then went on, "He took me under his wing and taught me everything he knew. The man was actually a well known assassin and his name was Cesare Silentread. He taught me the ropes and let me know that revenge is okay as long as you don't let your emotions override your judgments. Then one day he went on a solo mission and never came back. One of our fellow assassin guild members found his dead body along with some dead Mammon cultists. So from that day forth I decided to exact my revenge and kill everyone that is a Mammon cultist or associates with one. And whenever I see people in need I help if I believe they absolutely need help that is."
