PERSONALITY:

Star is a young, driven witch. She absolutely loves attending Esterview and all of her classes. She wants to learn as much as she can as before this she had little interaction with magic or magical people even though her father is a wizard. She studies hard and is generally an excellent student, although that doesn't mean she doesn't enjoy herself at all. She is a slightly unique girl, her mother was an ex-hippie and so Star was often given a lot more freedom than a lot of other children and so she is a very expressive, adventurous and curious young lady who always seems to have a smile on her face and loves to make people laugh and entertain them and just in general likes to have a good time. Some people may think she's a little eccentric. She likes to look at things differently as her mother always taught her to try to find the beauty in things that others do not and to "Try to find the silver lining." which is something Star really tries to do. She believes honesty is the best policy and while she may try to sugar coat things the truth will always come out sooner or later. Going along with that theme, Star is usually quite a forgiving person and often tries to give second or sometimes even third chances as there aren't very many people Star truly doesn't like since she believes people often have their reasons for being a certain way as unless they tell you, you can never tell what is within someone's heart or past. It isn't impossible to make her dislike someone though, however and in that case she will generally try to stay out of their way as much as possible as she is not a big fan of drama. If she can avoid such things, she most certainly will.

She is a very accepting person who can get along with most people and is usually quite good at brushing off comments made by people with more gruff personalities and likes to try to get the more shy students out of their shells as she loves to talk - she could probably carry on a one-sided conversation if she really tried and because of her laid-back personality people usually feel pretty comfortable around her or so she's been told and is a very loyal and supportive friend.

Like everyone she has her insecurities and faults, sometimes she's too hard on herself especially when it comes to school and just not being that knowledgeable about the wizarding world. She can also be a bit naive at times when it comes to other people and expecting them to get better or become nicer people when they just won't, but she also isn't blind as to when something is a lost cause. Her stubbornness can at times also be difficult to deal with as when she puts her mind to something she can overestimate her abilities and then become frustrated when she can't accomplish what she wants. Over all she is a fun loving, artistic, and friendly witch.

SHORT BIOGRAPHY:

Star (She was lucky she wasn't named Ringo) was born to her young muggle mother, Marianne Baudelaire and wizard father, Jean Dancey. Her mother and father were not married and did not stay together for more than a year after her birth and neither of them have seen each other since - as such, Star was raised by her mother who was an admittedly eccentric artist and so the young girl had quite a unique upbringing in their little home in upstate New York.

Star had a very happy childhood and it was naturally only a matter of time before Marianne discovered that Star had magic. At the age of four the little girl somehow had managed to make their fat old maine coon, Tom-Tom levitate off of the floor and onto the couch while he was sleeping. The young woman was not surprised by this discovery as she had learned of Jean's abilities later in their relationship and had been wondering since Star's birth if she would inherit Jean's abilities but unfortunately, while Marianne did not panic, she also didn't exactly know what to do with her young, magical daughter and tried repeatedly to speak to Jean who was the only magical person she knew. Eventually she did manage to locate Jean, who then offered to take Star off of her hands and raise her within the wizarding world which he thought would be better than being raised a muggle, but Marianne was unwilling to let her daughter go and so she decided to do the best she could on her own, giving whatever questions she had to Jean who grudgingly agreed despite their relationship being over and trying to study up on magic herself.

Throughout the years, despite not being particularly well off, her mother always tried to do what was best for Star and sent her to the best art schools she could find as well as encourage her to take up photography and to study magic as much as she liked as she always wanted her daughter to be herself and have as much versatility in her life as possible. She always supported her in whatever way she could and when a letter came in the mail from Esterview Academy of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the City, she knew that Star would love it there and was going to let her attend as soon as she turned fifteen. The two now visit whenever her mother can make the trip into the City or whenever there's holidays and Star keeps her up to date on the school's Quidditch matches which interests her immensely.
