βStrengthβ
Tom is an economic and mathematical genius. Where some people have a talent for singing, dancing, or writing, Tom was born with a profound sense of business. He can analyze economic trends and invest accordingly. Where a normal person has trouble reading charts and numbers and applying it to the real world, Tom sees the real world through these numbers. He is very business savvy and has learned how to run a company quickly.
Flaws/Weakness
βWeaknessβ
Tom can behave in a manner that is considered cold, particularly when it comes to business. He can be abrasive and, at times, unsympathetic towards people who he believes are looking for an easy way out rather than face life's challenges head-on. He is also touchy about anyone using his laptop without permission as that is where he does most of his work. At his worst, he can be acidic and judgmental.

|Trait| |Business Savvy| |Sarcastic| |Calm| |Infuriating|
There are generally two sides to Thomas. On one hand, he is a reserved individual, but generous and kind to his friends. He does not mind allowing other people to raid his fridge of alcohol and sit down and watch his and his roommate's large plasma screen TV. However, when it comes to the stock market and running a business, Tom can be rather cold in his decision-making. In his mind, running a business is not like interacting with people on a personal level. Good decisions will render one profit and the chance to expand the company. Bad decisions will cause the company to lose money and, in the worst case scenario, go out of business, leaving many people out of a job. When Tom began to become involved in the running of the businesses he bought the majority of stocks of, he soon learned to turn off part of his empathy, but not completely. He hates it when the companies he's invested in lay people off, for example and he does try to makes sure good workers are given good references so they can find other jobs. He does, however, have a prominent work ethic and has little patience for people complaining. In Tom's mind, he made it in the capitalist system with little money so he dislikes self-pity and people complaining about their job.
On a more personal level, Tom is less cold, but still isn't one for sunshine or rainbows. He can be painfully sarcastic at times and stubborn. Nonetheless, he is quick to lend money to the others if they are in trouble and is perfectly willing to let them take as much time as they'd like to pay him back. He is quick to make jabs at other people's expense, but he never means anything by it. He is also the "banker" of his social group in that he has helped the others handle their finances. Every year, around tax day, he is the one that is stuck doing his friends' taxes. Tom only has one rule for his friends: don't touch his laptop.

Happiest Memory
Thomas' happiest memory had be when he made enough money to get his mother out of debt. It was when he was about 18 years old. He had worked several minimum wage jobs and had been investing small amounts in the stock market. Once he was confident enough, he took out a lone from a bank and began investing larger amounts until finally, he had mad enough to pay back the loans and pay his mother's bills.
Saddest Memory
Tom's saddest memory had to be the day his father died. It wasn't anything dramatic or anything. He was three or four at the time and his mom received a call from one of his dad's friends that he had gotten into a car accident. He had been too young at the time to understand and it took him weeks before he could take it in.

History
Thomas was born to two working class parents. His dad was a cab driver and his mom was a maid. They lived in the poorer part of New York City. He cannot remember his dad much. He was very kind and a good role model, Thomas believes. However, when he was four and his younger brother had just been born, his father died in a collision with a drunk driver late at night. His mother was devastated and Thomas and his family was driven into poverty. Thomas always detested being forced to rely on welfare and charity when his mom was between jobs. He was often the one taking care of his younger brother and the two were close. However, because of his situation, Thomas had to grow up really fast.
It was obvious that he was gifted academically, but few of his teachers noticed or cared. The public schools he attended were poorly funded and few teachers actually cared about teaching their students everything. Nonetheless, Thomas possessed a keen mind for business and mathematics. He would often read economic and business theories in high school and middle school. In addition, he found a way to make money by acquiring what his peers wanted and selling it to them at a higher price. He refused to deal in drugs and weapons, mostly because he didn't want to get involved with a gang. Eventually, he grew interested in the stock market.
At this time, he had begun to take a bunch of part time jobs to help support his family. He made sure to save as much money as possible to create a fund for investing. He invested a little bit to see if he could really make money this way and found his reactions to the market and analysis of financial trends were correct. He eventually took a huge loan from a bank and took a huge risk by investing in a small company he believed would corner the market in its field. His profit was enormous.
Soon enough, his family was living in a nice home and his brother was attending college while Thomas worked full time in the stock market. His mother was proud of him. Then, she found out he had been investing in liquor. She wasn't pleased with them and the two argued about it constantly. Thomas resented her bringing ups his father's death over and over again until, finally, Thomas left the house and moved to California. He still sends her money, however. He is literally a self-made man and he loves his life. He does, however, regret his fight with his mother, but refuses to apologize.
