Marnen Beast's Story

A small shadow darts in the grass, you barely notice the brown spots speeding through the grassy cover, and it sulks into a small hole.

The blob notices the small blur darting past it. Deciding to seize this opportunity it tracks it down to the small hole it sunk into.

Noting its calm breath, and how still it was, the blob concludes that the being is resting. It swiftly moves and forces itself into the being, starting a fast-acting chain-reaction within, of consuming and copying it's cells to replicate the being. With a single difference: making use of the muscles in the jaw, it deviced a pair of sacs inside several strands of these muscles and repurposed them to squeeze these glands to spit out the same biological matter that assimilated the creature, effectively creating a way of spreading itself. Not to mention that any creature that consumes the body will be subject of assimilation.

You hear only the wind's whistling on the grass outside the hole. It is unlikely there's anything else in the vicinity besides plantlife.

Now with a new host, the small lizard crawls out of the hole and climbs a tree, there must be more creatures nearby. Even if there aren't, its new-found limbs and weapons will serve good for hunting new hosts.

You notice two things whilst in the large tree, first off, you see a massive mountain range, piercing the heavens by more than a mile, and snow is on every ledge and tip. You also notice a small rodent with a tail equipped with being heavy and having lots of thorns, a spiked club tail in essence, you could definitely use that to your advantage.

The small beast sees the rodent covering behind some leaves, expecting a victim to pass by, an effective tactic. However, there's a massive blind-spot above it...

The reptile runs down the trunk of the tree and catches the rodent by surprise. The poor thing never saw it's aggressor, as it was instantly killed by getting its spine ripped to shreds.

It climbs back onto the tree, prey still firmly impaled on its horns. Upon finding a small hole in the trunk and inspecting for surprises, it settles down and takes its prey from its horns.

Bite after bite, the rodent is completely devoured, not a single bone is spared. Soon after eating, the lizard begins to mutate, its claws and bones grow much thicker, the horns become longer and sharper. A thick, grayish-fur collar grows on its neck, and several barbs sprout on its long tail, the barbs are hollow-point and are filled by the biological matter used in the assimilation of others.

If there would be anything it could think of, it would be "Magnificent", however, there's no time to spare, mutating consumes the resources of the being, as such, it's time to hunt for self-preservation purposes.

The lizard leaves the hole on the trunk and continues to wander about, hunting for prey to feed its hunger.

You spot a horde of small birds and rat-like beings beating the shit out of each other, clawing and swooping, devouring and crushing, all sorts of chaos in this strange frenzy before you, they all look rather easily edible, you could almost swallow these small critters whole!

Seeing the mess infront of it, and the massive opportunities, the reptile chooses to make use of its glands to spit the sauropsida plague at the birds.

The reptile spits out its full reserves at the cloud of birds, a massive amount is infected by them, 247 birds, and 390 rodents that were caught in the fire. The plague swiftly takes over, the birds fall out of the air for less than a second before being assimilated and taking flight once again. The rodents have gained the spitting-glands the plague carries over, as well as growing barbs on the tails. The birds had their talons modified to have small canals running trough them. These canals are used to transport the sauropsida plague exhumed by their exposed skin, whilst the quantity is small, all plagues start small.

Using pheromones, the lizard starts issuing orders, most notably, an "assimilate" order, by inducing the afflicted a feeding-frenzy to ravage the remaining vermin and devour and infect as many as they can.

While its new subordinates infect and feast on others, the lizard drops down from the tree and starts consuming as many of the critters as it can.

Its apetite sated, it infuses the air with more pheromones, now issuing a "spread" order.

Satisfied with it's relatively easy job, the lizard climbs onto a tree and starts clawing a hole for it to rest.

You carve a simple =hollow into the wood of the empty tree, allowing you somewhere to curl up, enjoy your nap, whilst the rodents cause an apocalypse, leaving almost everything under your command, you are now Lord of Plagued Plains for the time being.

You stir from your rest, finding yourself out in the typical frozen mountains you're used to, but the southern blurry view has taken a new appearance: The plains have been infected by what appears to be a very virulent plague, you are unsure on how to do this without becoming infected yourself, but you know that you end the plague Lord of Plains.

The blob wobbled around in the frozen areas, well, it wasn't really that cold. Maybe because the blob is not that far inwards of these Northlands, or it's because it has no nervous system. Taking it's first "step", more like stretching out a tendril to grab onto the ground to pull itself forwards, the blob -let's call it "Flee"- begun it's journey.
The aspects of this being called Flee included a strange instinct, stones, must find stones. Dragging itself across the land will use up a large sum of energy, so stones will need to be absorbed. What's next? Water. That's very important, but the only water around is the small amount which seems to appear underneath Flee's body. Oh wait, melting ice.

Before the hunt for stones, Flee kept still, the ice had melted a little to allow it to absorb some. Perfect, no thirst for a while. The next thing was the stone, a couple drags away. Conveniently placed at the right size to keep Flee alive for a while. And so, it was absorbed, slowly dissolving in the semi transparent, green, goo-like body.
There was one more thing which was somehow burned into Flee's conscious, breed. Well, this kind of thing is a bit automatic for the Asexual being Flee was. But it couldn't, not yet, it needs to continue eating and building up a large amount of nutrients as Mitosis and the "budding" action of Flee's Asexual reproduction is very costly. Not only does it loose mass, but also a third of it's nutrients.
