Ludum Liberi
Literally meaning, 'Childish Games', is a lost magic that uses the surrounding environment, its objects and organisms as the basis of a game or competition between the activator and those caught in the radius. In each method of the magic, the radius, focal point and game design changes. As with most games, the victor is rewarded and the loser... well... how often do you hear about second place? Ludum Liberi is therefore tends to serve as an unreliable type of magic as it could very well turn against the favour of the user. The more control and practice the user has, the wider the radius, and the more complicated the games that they can fathom and construct. When released the magic circle is projected onto a surface, i.e the ground or a target, and from that focal point the radius of the circle expands. Bronte has so far being able to expand the circle to a limit of 11 metres in radius, and is restricted to two casts per day.
House of Riddles(Example of Ludum Liberi)
After projecting the magic circle to release its effect, those in the circle see their surroundings blur until they find themselves in an old house, and if they were to peer outside, a swamp. No teleportation magic has been used here, it is simply an illusion of Ludum Liberi, and the contract has been signed, none can leave until the game is played and won. In this scenario, the players must traverse through the 'haunted house riddle' constructed by Bronte. The house in question is of course the house she lived in with her family as a child and one that returns in her nightmares most nights. The 'players' will be tasked in reaching the houses heart facing challenges demanding, intellect, logic and observation, however these can be substituted to suit the function with practice. Those trapped in this limbo will also experience great strain and feel their magic leak out, revealing Ludum Liberi's true nature, that is as an elaborate pacifier.
