Name: Valentine Mikelus
Gender: Male
Role: Second Knight of Cresta
Skills: A master wielder of his Halberd, a skilled swordsman, and a decent shot with an arrow, Valentine has been trained his whole life to be an elite soldier. Where he falls down is in social situations; he's been trained for war for so long that he has forgotten how to interact with human beings.
Personality: An extremely cold, lethal warrior, always focusing exclusively on the completion of his mission at the expense of all else. Dark and cynical, he follows orders from the king without question or restraint. He is extremely zealous and loyal to his country, willing to lay down his life at the drop of a hat and kill thousands without thinking twice. The only thing he fears is failure, the only thing that can stop him is the word of the person who gave him his order in the first palce. He feels no emotion on the battefield; the death of a comrade is no different to the death of an enemy to him.
History: Born into the Crestian nobility, he was son of Cresta's greatest knight, and was trained from an early age to be a soldier. However, everything changed during the initial Slorian invasions; he and his family were holidaying near the border, and were taken by surprise by the assault. His father rounded up the few soldiers and held off as many soldiers as they could, cutting down his enemies by the dozens to defend his wife and children; his mother and sister were inside, but he stood out on the balcony, watching the battle below, watching his father fighting with the brutality and devastation of death itself. However, eventually, his father fell, and Valentine hid under a bed as he watched his mother and older sister executed, along with anyone else the Slorian soldiers could find. He emerged after the battle, soaked in the blood that had run under the bed, and walked onto the battlefield, seeing the ring of corpses around his father, the blood his blade was stained with. He picked up the sword, and left to make his way back to the king's castle - regardless of how many soldiers he had to go through to get there.
He was forced to cut his way through enemy lines to make his way back to allied forces, but a combination of hiding and his father's combat training assisted him, and eventually, he made it back. As soon as he arrived, he presented his father's sword to the king, and told his father's tale, before demanding that they give his father a full military funeral and that he be allowed to assume his father's role upon his sixteenth birthday.
Both requests were granted as a favour to Valentine's now-deceased father, and he spent four years training with fully-grown knights to become a perfect soldier, applying himself single-mindedly to his work. When he turned sixteen, he was issued the rank of Knight Of The Empire, the highest rank achievable for a soldier - a rank his father had formerly held - giving him full authority over any and all Crestian forces he might need in the course of his duties. He got a set of black steel armour forged for himself, along with a halberd and a bow, and took up his father's sword, along with his father's moniker - the 'Reaper Of Cresta'. Since then, he has acted as the king's personal angel of death, slaughtering anyone he is commanded to, murdering anyone the king asks him to. He has recently been sent into a Slorian village with a squad of elite knights to interrogate and assasinate the Slorian king's former right-hand man, who has been hiding out there since the war started - and then to wipe out the entire village in order to keep the operation quiet. However, when he falls for a Slorian commoner while undercover in that village, whose side will he choose?
Likes: Good food, reading, and generally being alone. He once liked hunting, but now finds it dull compared to the thrill of war - and he hardly has the time these days.
Dislikes: Fish (trying to feed it to him is a good way to get impaled), people, civilians, anyone who insults his father or the king of Cresta.
Crush: Commoner from Sloria
Insights on Love interest: He finds her to be a break from the horror of war that his life has become, an untouched piece of humanity in the living hell he has fallen into.
