Rishima "the Red" Mingan, from From Fear in the Eyes of Madness, a roleplay on RPG

Rishi has auburn hair, and dark green eyes that look almost black from a distance. She is fair skinned, slender and she looks to be in her late twenties, but as witches are immortal and magic reduces the signs of aging, no one is certain. Her facial features are delicate, like her mother’s, but it is her eyes she gets from her father and the only trait other than her ferocity she shares with her brother. Rishi prefers to dress in peasant wear while traveling, and walks on foot. Her clothes are plain, as are her riding boots. She carries with her a pack with all of her possessions such as clothes and ingredients for potions.

After her mother’s death, she began to tattoo herself, her first was a dove on her left ankle in remembrance of her mother. After learning from a faye healer, she was tattooed with a string of ivy vines behind both of her ears that come down and loop on her neck. She has another tattoo down her right side that no one but her lovers have seen, and she tattoos each of them with a healing pattern before she leaves them in order to keep them safe.

Rishi draws her power from nature. The life of the trees and plants around her help to aide her in her magic. She can make fruit sweet, or deadly to eat. Yet she requires none of this to win over her lovers.

Personality

Rishi is passionate, she has taken many a lover in this instance. She knows the dangers with crossing the mortal world with the immortal, which is why she feels the need to protect the ones she loves from tragedy. Her ferocity in a fight is sometimes confused with her passion and respect for life. She knows that death is only a segment of life’s cycle, and how from each death comes new life. She has a thirst for revenge against her brother, and companionship.

Equipment

She carries a healing bracelet, an old family artifact that quickens her healing time. She carries around herbs and other ingredients for potions, mostly for healing or poisoning, but requires no wand or staff. She has ink and parchment, candles, and a needle for tattooing. She also carries around extra clothes and fabric. Rishi also carries knives as a mortal protection.

History

Like many a witch, she began to have nightmares when she was twelve. This was when her mother gave her the healing bracelet in order to protect her and stop the nightmares. The Mingan family is a long line of female witches, and extraordinary magical talent. They are said to have seduced men in order to gain worldly possessions, but it is mainly companionship and loneliness from their immortal lives that they seek. Rishima’s mother, Carolinga married a wealthy lord who died tragically before Rishima was born. It was a great suspicion that Carolinga had aided the lord’s death, but witches will not kill their lovers. Rishima’s half-brother Titus took over the estate when he became of age. Lord Titus was one of those that believed Carolinga had assisted in his father’s death, and has hunted the mother-daughter pair since Rishi was sixteen. Rishima learned much of her magic from her mother, but since her untimely death by the hands of Titus’s men, Rishima has had to learn and develop her skills from others. Of course, she is never without her temptress ways. In her travels, she has taken many lovers in order to keep herself in hiding from her brother. Now with the Guantlet approaching, it is time to take up arms and destroy Titus once and for all.
