Scarlett's childhood consisted of constant traveling between her two parents. She was raised in very differing households. In Tampa, Florida, her mother was very disciplined and wanted to have Scarlett have better opportunities than she ever had. Her single, at the time, mother worked two jobs as a receptionist at a auto shop and waitress at a local bar to provide for Scarlett and herself. When Scarlett was with her mother, she was often alone in her apartment. Her mother would give her homework and assignments to work on while she was gone. Scarlett did it all to make her mother happy since she was always working. Living with her father was always an adventure. Her father travel to many different places though he mostly taught in India, Japan, and Italy. He encouraged her curiosity to explore and to have fun. Her father knew how strict her mother could be so he tried to act as the fun parent. He would still leave Scarlett at his house by herself, but encouraged her to explore the area. The differing parent styles caused tension between Scarlett's parents. She can remembering hearing the two of them argue over the phone about how Scarlett should be raised.
After turning thirteen, Scarlett's mother began to have a close friendship with one of the mechanics at the auto shop. She didn't know what to think of it. All she knew was that he would come over for dinner some nights and he would spend the weekend with the two of them. Scarlett didn't know what to think of him at first. He was friendly and was always nice to her. He'd even bring her little presents and take her side sometimes when her mother and her would disagree. Scarlett thought her mother asked him to take a fatherly role while she was living with her mom, but she found out this was wrong when Jeffrey asked her if it was okay if he asked her mother to marry him. Scarlett told him no at first. She was being possessive over her mother and didn't want to add to her family. Jeffrey respected her answer. Scarlett began to notice how sad her mother was, not knowing Jeffrey ended their relationship. Scarlett felt guilt over it. Her mother gave up so much for her and Scarlett couldn't allow her this one thing. Scarlett went to the auto shop and told Jeffrey he could ask, as long as he promised to not be possessive over her mother. The two shook on it and a year later, Scarlett had a new step-dad.
Life with her new step-dad was actually a lot better than Scarlett would've guessed it was. Her mother was able to drop her waitress job and found a better job as a receptionist at a law office, meaning she had more time at home with Scarlett. Jeffrey was always promoted at the auto shop to manager. Scarlett still traveled to see her father. She began to notice how poor India was. A childhood friend, whose parents were taught English by her father, began to get sick. The family was too poor to afford medicine or health care for their child, leaving her to suffer. Scarlett never found out what happened to her since her father had to move to Japan to teach English. Scarlett always knew she wanted to be a doctor, but seeing someone so young suffer and not know what happened is what made her want to work with children. The need only increased after the birth of her twin, half-siblings. Alexis and Thomas were a delight and blessing to Scarlett who grew up as an only child. Scarlett promised herself she would make a difference.
When Scarlett entered her senior year in high school, she began to contemplate college. Several Ivy League schools were definitely on her radar since it would've made her mother proud. She was valedictorian of her class, 4.0 GPA, and a minority making her an amazing candidate. Her father did attend college at Fulton so being a second generation student. Scarlett eventually decided on Fulton due to it being the least expensive option. She had instate tuition, more scholarship opportunities, and it was close to home. Joining the Theta Chi sorority was not something Scarlett considered. She wanted to focus on her studies, but her father talked about how he loved being Kappa. Without her mother knowing, Scarlett decided to rush just to check everyone out. She liked the Alphas because of their confidence and sophistication, but their entitled attitudes rubbed her the wrong way. Zeta Nu Delta was cool, because they weren't afraid to be themselves, but she wasn't a party girl. Theta made the most sense, because of their sweetness and studiousness. Scarlett was so happy to be accepted and now that she's President, this year will be the year to make Theta even better!

Personality:
Her nickname 'Sunshine' relates mostly to her personality. Scarlett has a very sunny demeanor. You'll always see her smiling and talking animatedly with other people. She loves to talk and learn more about the people around her. Scarlett is very easy to talk to and approachable. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body and constantly wants to be understanding of others. She's been described as sweet as sugar and it definitely is true. She is always willing to lend a hand to someone who needs help. Scarlett is very generous with other people. Some have said she's a 'saint.' Relationships for her are rare and tend to not last very long. Scarlett's idea of romance includes commitment, romance, and enjoying being together. She isn't the type to have one night stands with other people and doesn't understand why people are happy with friends with benefits and hookups. She wants to have her Prince, or Princess, Charming and fall in love.
While she can be very sweet, Scarlett isn't without any negatives. Scarlett grew up in a very sheltered environment. Her mother didn't want her leaving the house while she was gone, but her father let her explore even though their home was far away from any neighbors. She didn't have many friends growing up so she'll always been a bit naΓ―ve about people's true nature. She believes the world is still kind and honest, not realizing how cruel people can be. Scarlett is by no means dumb, but she often doesn't realize when she's being deceived or lied to. Scarlett is quick to believe what people tell her since she doesn't understand why people lie or deceive to hurt people. She recognizes these qualities will hurt her, but she prefers to see the positives.
Scarlett tries to be as outgoing and happy as she can, but that gets her weird looks from time to time. Some people view her as awkward. Her happy, positive nature doesn't always make sense in difficult situations. Her idealistic nature can be difficult of her more realistic friends and acquaintances. Scarlett knows people view her this way and it makes her unlikely to act at times. As President, she's always aware of how her actions affect her sorority and her reputation. Scarlett knows all eyes are on her since she's President and doesn't want to disgrace the Theta Chi sorority. She's trying to do her best and hopes to be a great example of what a Theta should be.
Greatest joys in life:
Her Family: While her family can be crazy at times, Scarlett wouldn't trade her family for anything. Pizza: It's basically the greatest food in the world. Helping Others: There's enough negativity in the world and Scarlett wants to be a positive. Good Grades: Nothing is better than receiving an A on her assignments. Hugs: Whether platonic or romantic, hugging makes everyone happy.
Greatest fears:
Not being the top of her class: Her mother never got the chance to attend college so Scarlett would hate to fail her mother by not being the best. Dolls: She watched the Chucky movies with her father as a child and can't stand dolls. Loneliness: Scarlett spent a lot of her childhood alone and the idea of being by herself for long periods of time worries her. Failing her half-siblings: Alexis and Thomas are the light of her life and she doesn't want their childhood to be similar to hers. Debt: Something you've got to worry about when you're a scholarship student and don't come from a wealthy family.

Thoughts on Greek Life:
"My mother always dreamed of attending college so I was planning to focus only on my studies, but my father talked about how he loved Greek Life when he was in school. I decided to check it out, but without mom knowing. All the sororities were so sweet, but Theta related more to me more. They value intelligence and school success more than parties or status. I love being a Theta and, as President, I look forward to making it a great year for my girls."
Scarlett never planned on joining a sorority. She wanted to focus on her school work, but her father insisted there was more to college than just the academic stuff. She was neutral about all of the sororities coming in. She liked them all, but Theta had her values. Scarlett doesn't like all t he exclusivity among all the Greek organization. She would rather them all be friends instead of conflict between them. Scarlett never regretted being a Theta and looks forward to having a great year with her Theta girls!
Plans for after college:
"I've always dreamed of being a pediatrician so I plan on getting my pre med degree before going to medical school. After completing my degree and paying off those pesky student loans, I hope to work with Doctors Without Borders to help children in impoverished countries."
Scarlett knew she wanted to be children's doctor since she was little. While traveling with her father, she saw all the impoverished children who couldn't afford health care. Scarlett knew she wanted to help especially after watching a childhood friend suffer. After completing medical school and paying off her student debts, Scarlett wants to work with Doctors Without Borders to help those children. Her minor is to gain a better understanding of how children specifically develop.
