Personality: Keen and hotheaded. When she sets her mind on something, it's near-impossible to shake her out of it. She may seem bossy with Zenmei at times, but she really worries for his safety.
History: Leads the journalism group at Nakoso High School. She's been friends with Zenmei for the past 7 years, but had yet to get him to open up. She was about to give up on it, but events involving the Akuma has brought the two closer than before. In that time, she realized that she had the potential of a channeler, a human that can control Chi. She swore to improve herself, so she would be able to help Zenmei when he needs it most.
Equipment: Comes unarmed, save for her camera, which has been enchanted by her own Chi. Taking a picture of an opponent with it will mark any weak spots or note any discernible weaknesses.
Abilities: Skilled in aikido, a modern martial art that implements strikes, throws, and joint-locking. With enough drive, she can conjure chakra of Fire, Thunder, Wind, Force, and Time, like a Yokai. Most of them are short-range, however, as they're mainly based around aikido as well.

- Shoumen'uchi: A knifehand strike that hits the head with discombobulating force.
- Fox Upper: A normally-impossible backflip kick that suspends her in midair for a split-second.
- Mega Knuckle: A plummeting aerial punch that gains force with momentum.
- Tenchinage: A heaven-and-earth throw that grapples high and low to throw off the target's balance.
- Fox Kick: Fire chakra in the form of a rushing kick engulfed in foxfire.
- Spiral Flare: Fire chakra in the form of a blazing tornado kick.
- Polar Shock: Thunder chakra that directs a charge on the ground and makes it erupt with electricity.
- Palm Zap: Thunder chakra in the form of a short but powerful electric palm strike.
- Thunderfall: Thunder chakra in the form of an electrified drop-kick.
- Updraft: Wind chakra that creates a fist of wind in front, striking upward.
- Cyclone Strike: Wind chakra in the form of a tornado kick that can move through the air.

- Magnet Punch: Force chakra in the form of a chargeable punch. Foes will be drawn close during this time. The punch itself protects against incoming attacks.
- Chrono Slide: Time chakra in the form of a slide kick...repeated several times with phantasms.
- Freeze Frame: Time chakra that uses her camera's flash to lock foes in time for a while.

Trivia
- "Ekiyu" is Japanese for "good/useful friend", and "nyuuwa" means "gentleness".
- Despite being human, Ekiyu is able to use chakra much like a Yokai would. Such a human that has youkai-like abilities is called an "onmyouji".
- "Exposé" is a common journalism term used for a breaking reveal about something or someone. Being French for "exposed", it also makes more sense that targets affected by it are more vulnerable than usual.
- Her Freeze Frame chakra is somewhat similar to Princess Peach's Freeze Frame skill in Mario Strikers Charged, which immobilizes foes caught within the photo frame.
- Amusingly, two intended lines for Ekiyu is "I've fought in a war, you know." and "It's your friendly neighborhood reporter!"
