Yoji is self-sufficient as he is suave and relaxed. Able to talk his way out of a dicey situation, he thrives on surprise and impromptu even though he prefers a more well-informed approach in life. Always on the move, Yoji never had the privilege of making long term friendships. This applies to intimacy as well, for he never had a serious relationship worth mentioning. As a patriot to his country he is also a pragmatist; Not afraid to cross the red-tape in order to achieve what is asked of him.
Before joining Section 6, Yoji was an operative in the JSDF under cooperation with the UN to infiltrate the Red Bianco forces in South America. As a spy, he volunteered into the corp and passed on vital information to the UN involving the location of weapons, armory and troops. He eventually blew his cover to save a group of UN POWs and lost both his left arm and leg in an explosion. With the help of the freed POWs, they escaped together and were safely extracted from further harm. They received medals for their courage and Yoji had immediate prosthetic limb replacement. He never saw the POWs again.
Yoji discontinued his career as a JSDF operative and was honorably discharged. Now back in Japan, he signed up for a position at Public Security Bureau Section 3 as a Drug Enforcement officer. He was involved in a lot of big, undercover drug busts against some infamous refugee syndicates before Section 6 sought his recruitment.
