A would be knight in shining armor
Namu tries to act reserved as he was taught to be but being who he is and having the history he does he’s prone to fits of seething anger and moments of depression. Though prone to these fits Namu is willing to trust anyone and is a person who always tries his best to please everyone around him, it’s that aspect of his personality that leads to his extreme moods.
Namu carries a single senbon needle with him to help relieve pain should he need it.
Namu comes from a once Japanese-American family that cut its ties with America and tried to reintegrate into Japan’s countryside. Because of the impure blood in the small clan his family has encountered many social obstacles that only seemed to increase as time went on, finally coming to a swell when Namu was born and his very different appearance taken to mean the lady of the house was not faithful. Moving the clan to another part of the country made reintegrating easier on everyone but Namu’s ‘father’ could not let go of the embarrassment his son had caused him and his wife and so though he taught the clan fighting style to Namu he never gave him the task of keeping it alive.
The letter from Jian came the same day as the announcement that the lady of the house, who was miraculously with child, was going to have a daughter. Determined, Namu cut his long hair packed a duffel bag, donned the talisman and left his home with only the money in the letter and the determination to prove his worth before his parents forced his sister into the role they were too embarrassed to let him fill.
