APPEARANCE: Ian is a medium-sized white male with black hair that is graying. He is currently wearing a light brown utility jacket over a simple shirt and slacks. He often wears "projected trajectory" goggles, has a sword slung on his waist and carries one or more firearms whenever he expects to meet any of "the others".
REASONING FOR BEING ON EARTH: Protection of humans from "the others" and also to try and form some base for law and order by reaching out to the peace-seeking "others".
HISTORY/PAST: Ian Foster was originally part of an organization called ASA. They were a human anti-"others" group whose proclaimed purpose was to protect humans from malevolent "others". The group went to great lengths to gather the most advanced technology with the philosophy that in technology was security and civilization. Ian was one of the security operatives who was assigned to recon of "the others" activity in the area. He was issued a sub-machine gun and "projected trajectory" goggles designed to give him an edge in the presence of danger. However, just when the ASA thought they had a foothold on Earth, they were defeated from within by shape-shifting agents of "the others". Ian had been fighting against "the others" for some time but had recently witnessed expression of compassion and empathy toward from some "others" which inspired him to stop seeing these aliens as enemies by default. Now Ian investigates the "others" personally for understanding of their ways and a possible human/"others" alliance.
