In one of the rockier regions of Darklina stands a grand castle made of large slabs of glowing white stone. The area surrounding the castle is rugged and a few scraggly trees dot the landscape. The land had once been beautiful but that was centuries ago. The castle consists of three main buildings, a large wall surrounds them with towers evenly spaced apart. The buildings consist of a stables with paddock, a guest house, and the main house. The guest house is small but elegant, it's main room decorated in dark shades of blue. A fireplace is to the left of the entrance with a lavish sofa facing it. A lush carpet covers the cold floor. Swords and shields adorn the walls. From the main room are two doors, one leading to the kitchen, the other to the bed chamber. The kitchen is simple with cabinets lining the walls. There is a small fire pit with a cauldron hanging over it. The bed chamber is of decent size with a large bed covered in furs and blankets. Thick curtains cover the small windows. A dresser with mirror and a wardrobe are the other objects in the room. They are carved from a dark wood. It is covered with dust from lack of use. The main house is considerably bigger, with three stories and a basement. It is more modernized with candles replaced by electric bulbs in the chandeliers and wall sconces. The first floor is predominantly green and consists of the main hall, a ballroom with a piano, and a dining hall with expensive chinaware. The second floor is decorated in reds and holds two bedrooms and a library. Each of the bedrooms are lavishly furnished with pillows, rugs, blankets and the like. The third floor holds a laboratory and study. These are decorated with no specific colour. The kitchens are in the basement with storage and wine cellars. A thick wooden door is tucked into the corner. Beyond this door is a narrow stone path winding deeper into the earth where is widens into a small cavern. Torches are hammered into the cavern walls and in the centre of the cavern is a pit of molten fire. The Phoenix Pit. This is how Yrael has managed to survive, even with his careless ambition. Anywhere on Darklina, if Yrael is severely injured, he would find himself here. The Pit would slowly heal his wounds and rejuvinate him. Of course, the severity of the injury would determine how long he would be trapped in the Phoenix Pit.
Shadows hardly existed in the castle due to the unnatural glow of the stone but silhouettes of small, humanoid creatures could be seen scurrying about. There were five of them that took care of the castle when their master was away. They were in the stable now. Three Nightmares were tethered to one wall, furiously snorting and stamping their feet. Their eyes glowed and smoke billowed from their nostrils. Their manes and tales were flame. Four of the humanoids were trying to groom the beasts. A Kelpie was tied in the corner, trapped in horse form by the rope halter it wore. It stood sullenly, sopping wet as one of the creatures poured sea grasses into a trough.
