|{Personality}|
Calm, cool and collected are three words that really describe Denzel's personality, most of the time. He always says that if he was any calmer, he'd really be levitating right off of the ground and people that know him can vouch that statement. Denzel has a really calm and laid back personality, sometimes going with the flow and letting things fall into place as they are. He is a very genuine person that will always be honest with you - No matter what. Denzel does not like people that lie even when they know the truth about something. It's really something that irks Denzel's nerves to the core. He is always watching the people around him and his surroundings. His observant nature comes from his years of living in a rather rough neighborhood.

Denzel has negative traits to his personality, just like any other human being. He is very straightforward towards just about anyone that crosses his path. He'll even tell someone something that they definitely do not want to hear. Denzel likes to be truthful towards everyone and being straightforward is really the way to be. One should be careful when it comes to sarcastic remarks being thrown towards Denzel because he is very quick on his feet when it comes to sarcasm. Denzel is definitely not the person to engage in a sarcastic battle with because you just might lose within a matter of seconds.

He certainly has his mother's temperament when it comes to certain situations and environments that he is in. You'll know whenever you made him mad when his top lip starts to twitch but when you make him sad, he'll grow silent and wants to be by himself. Overall, Denzel is a great person to be around and if you want befriend someone that tells you how it is then he is definitely your guy.

|{History}|
Denzel was raised in Detroit, Michigan by his mother, who put him in daycare as she went to work everyday. He does not know who his father is as he ran off shortly before he was even born, which his mother always mentions that Denzel doesn't need to know who he was anyway. Growing up, his mother tried her best to make sure Denzel got just about anything that he wanted. She'd practically do anything and everything for him.

The neighborhood him and his mother lived in was very, very rough. Not to say there was gunshots or fights every single night but it almost was. His mother always told Denzel that they will find something better and eventually move away from there. She did not want Denzel on the streets either. But he was not really a bad child except when he did get into fights at school and on the way home one time. That was about the last straw for his mother but they did not have enough funds to just up and move anywhere else at the time.

It was whenever Denzel was about ten years of age that his mother met Johnathan Richard Monroe II and she was absolutely in love. It took Denzel awhile to grow fond of the male but since he made his mother happy along with brought him gifts then he was happy. Unfortunately, Johnathan was only in town on political business for two weeks and leaving soon. Denzel knew that he was too good to be true and even tried to get his mother to see the same. But eventually, Johnathan told them to pack up and move out to New York City with them, which is something they did not hesitate to do.

In New York, it was a whole different ballgame for himself and his mother. Denzel went to elite schools with tuition paid in full by Johnathan and his mother did not have to work anymore so became a stay at home mom. It was nice what was happening to them in their life right about now and Denzel liked Johnathan even more but not for his money but because he loved and appreciated his mother.

Growing up in New York was a hard adjustable for Denzel since Detroit was much more rougher. Denzel got into a fight with a really, really rich kid and was kicked out of the elite school. It was whenever Johnathan heard about Spence High, where Denzel transferred to and his stepfather along with his mother made it very clear for him not to get in any trouble there. Denzel did not get into any trouble there. As a matter of fact, he was actually quite popular among the crowd and that did not change for quite some time. It was also the first time he had heard anything about a Queen or King Bee, too.

Speaking of which, the current King Bee grew quite fond of Denzel and kept him close and underneath his wing. They did almost everything together and hung out often with each other. It was a week before graduation before Manuel, the current King Bee at the time, invited Denzel over to his home to have some lunch and talk. They talked about Denzel being the next King Bee, which made him laugh a little but Manuel was serious. He had been evaluated and did not even know it so of course, he took the position and is now the reigning King Bee of Spence High.

Gossip Girl here, giving you all the details on the rather scandalous elites that attend Spence High. School has started back for these elites last week and it is the first weekend of the school year so I know there is bound to be some drama going down. Especially since the reigning King Bee, Denzel, posted on social media that he was having a yacht party to celebrate their survival from the first week of school. Just about anyone and everyone were invited to attend. The question is though, will you be attending? I know I will be. While there is a party going down in the matter of an hour or so, another scandal amongst these elites is after a sudden disappearance is the sudden reappearance of the flower girl known as Iris. Where has she been? No one truly knows but whenever someone finds out... I'll be here waiting. You know you love me.

Denzel could not help but let out a light scoff from his lips as he placed his phone back into his pocket, reviewing over himself in the floor stand mirror in his room. He had posted on social media, Snapchat and Instagram specifically, about his yacht party and it was basically an "here's to surviving week one of hell" type of thing. Denzel heard a knock on his door as his mother entered and smiled towards him. "Oh, no. You're not going to give me the responsibility speech, are you?" Denzel inquired as his mother chuckled as she stepped closer to him and adjusted his collar slightly. "No. I know you'll be responsible. Just make sure everyone else is responsible on your father's..." Denzel interrupted her by calling him the much more proper term. "Stepfather." His mother sighed as she raised a hand up to him. "Whoever. Just make sure people do not damage his yacht, okay?" His mother continued as he nodded his head and she exited his room so that he could finish getting ready.

A thought crossed his mind though. 'Iris is back?' He pulled his phone out of his pocket and read the latest Gossip Girl blog one more time. It seemed like it was official but he just had to find out things for himself.

To: Iris
Are you really back? Did not tell me anything? You must come to my yacht party tonight. Remember where the docks are?

Denzel sent the message then exited his own room as she walked down the stairs, which led into the kitchen as his mother looked at him. "Taking the limo. See you later." He mentioned towards her as he pressed the button for the elevator and stood there, waiting. Denzel was excited for the night, honestly. This was his first official party as King Bee so he hoped that he'd do a good job at hosting it. The elevator dinged and the doors rolled opened before him as he stepped right on the inside. Honestly, he was nervous about tonight as he rocked on the balls of his feet until the elevator stopped and the doors opened up before him again. Stepping out, he reached his hand into his pocket and pulled out his cell phone to send her royal highness, Sienna, a text message along with Jeremy.

To: Sienna
Can you at least try, I do mean try, to be nice tonight?

To: Jem
You coming to party, right?

Denzel sent the texts and was really eager to see their replies. Denzel really wondered if Jem was coming to the party or not and if Sienna was going arrive with Cam, whom he needed for some banter right about now. He knew that it was sort of a mistake to do but he did it anyway. Once he exited through the revolving door, his family's driver, Thompson was already out there and waiting for him. "To the docks, Thompson." Denzel said as he got into the limo then pulled up Instagram again to record a video.

"Yo, yo, yo, peeps. This ya' boy, King Denny and I am heading to the docks to board the yacht. Will you be there waiting for me or will I be waiting on you? Let's see shall we?" He posted the video on the app and received multiple likes within an instant. Luckily for him, the docks were not too far from where he lived in the city so he arrived there within fifteen or so minutes. Some people were already there as he greeted them then stepped foot onto the yacht.

His eyes examined the food and drinks and even greeted the bartender, just to make sure everything was in order as more people started to arrive at the docks. Denzel pulled his phone out of his pocket to see if either Iris or Sienna responded to his message yet. He grabbed himself a glass of the champagne that was near then walked over to the side of the yacht and chugged the glass down. It was no doubt that he was nervous, which was a feeling he tried not to show but it was there and hope no one notices.

He checked to see what the time it was, which it was approaching about seven o'clock and the yacht was going to dock in a few minutes. Denzel removed himself from the railing that he was leaning on for the moment to take out his cell phone, wondering to himself if he should text Christian or not. Just a simple would be alright, wouldn't? Denzel sighed as he started to type those three little letters towards Christian anyway.

To: Chris
Hey.

Being the new girl

She hated it. She never really was a new girl before. a) She lived in Canada all her life never moved before. b) She was homeschooled how are you new if you do school at the dinner table. She wasn't happy with her parents for moving her all the way from her tourist town in Niagara Falls all the way to New York.

Yes, it was very pretty but it wasn't her home and never could be. Now her parents owned an apartment building something much different than an inn.

Someone she met that was going to maybe help her understand her new school was Denzel. He looked to be in charge around the school. Discovering his Instagram handle she noticed his latest video about a yacht party. Maybe she would go. She knew her parents would not be very happy about a party but maybe they would be happier about it. She tried her hardest to convince them that she needed to go to learn about people from her school. And try her hardest to get to know them.

As she looked in the mirror at the reflection of herself. She wore a short dress that went to her knees. It was a navy blue with a sash around her mid-region. She put a baggy cardigan over it and a pair of pants to leave the house. As she went outside she put the clothes in the flower pot and went to the party.

She hoped she looked good enough. Not knowing what to expect she went to the location and was excited to begin. As she entered she felt shy and wanted to be a wallflower. Even though her name was Moonflower. Now she felt even more out of touch with herself in the presence of such people.

Christian smirked to himself at Denzel’s Instagram video, pimping out his party. β€œWaiting on me bud,” he said to himself as he took a swig from his bourbon and coke and watched his younger sister’s fight over the PlayStation controller. Of course he was heading the yacht party. Denzel was one of his best buds at Spence, and even if he wasn’t exactly Queen Sienna approved, he was hardly out of the loop. Though he was in no rush, considering the awkwardness of things between him and Denzel, he was planning on turning up late.

Hopefully, the place would be packed and he wouldn’t even run into the big guy. Just in case though, Christian pulled out his phone, and texted his go-to distraction, already assuming she’d be heading in with Sienna.

To: Cam-The-Man
You and her royal highness better not do that fashionably late thing tonight.

The moment Christian sent off his text, an incoming text from Denzel appeared. Hey. Just three letters. He read the text at least five times before sighing. β€œWhat the hell does β€˜Hey’ mean?” He asked to the air around him.

β€œThat someone’s trying to say hello.” His little sister said from her spot, just down the bench from him inhaling a bowl of sugary cereal. A mocking grin was attached to her face, and Christian scowled she’d always been a little smart ass. She smirked, β€œAren't you supposed to be the smooth one in the family?”

Christian smiled despite himself, and with a shake of his head his finished his drink. β€œJust do me a favour and eat a piece of fruit or something after that,” He said as he ruffled her hair, knowing full well she was planning on that cereal being her dinner. Then he headed to his bedroom to grab a jacket, one text changing his whole, β€˜arrive late’ plan. As he waited for a car, he shot a quick text back to Denzel, hoping he sounded casual.

To: Denz
Shouldn’t King Denny be busy getting wasted on a yacht?

Arriving at the party, Christian grabbed a drink and immediately spotted the new girl, a cute brunette with some flower name. He couldn’t remember the name exactly but that didn’t matter, they’d been introduced once, he was pretty sure. β€œHey love, how’s the first week been?” He said with a smile as he leaned in to kiss her on the cheek.

Then he slung an arm over her shoulders, looked out over the gathering, mostly drunk, masses and leaned in to whisper in her ear. β€œEither way, this right here is the best part of high school.” As he did that though, he locked eyes across the crowd with Denzel. He forced an easy grin, and with his arm still around the new girl, he led her towards the big guy. β€œAnd, of course if you want to keep coming to parties like these, you better get in good with our reigning king.” He winked at her.

β€œNot a bad turn out.” Christian said by way of greeting to Denzel. Incredibly glad his arms were busy with one holding his drink and the other draped on the new girls shoulders, so he couldn’t try any awkward greeting. He turned and scanned the crowd for friendly faces. β€œWhere’s your better half then?” He asked, referring to Sienna.

"Gentlemen," Ricardo called and a bit of the chatter that occupied the grand room died out as all eyes turned to him. Having just returned from getting dressed, Ricky stood - a joint filled with a berry white cannabis strain in one hand, and a glass of Balvenie 50 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky in the other. The hand with the whisky was raised towards his peers, dark eyes glittering beneath the overhead lights. "You've survived your first week back at the illustrious Spence and hopefully, managed to secure you parents' trust that you will be able to endure the rest of the school year," he said, this seeming ever-present sense of amusement tugging at one corner of his lips. There was a hum or two of agreement, and pleased with with the nods that followed, Ricky grinned darkly before adding, "Now, let's show them how misplaced that trust was." The resounding roars and cheers of excitement made Ricky guffaw before he tossed back what was left in his glass, his throat working to welcome the burn he called his oldest friend.

There were only one or two of the guys in his home that Ricky called a friend, but it wasn't out of character for him to have invited a number of them to a pre-gaming session with him whether in his home or at one of his favorite bars in the city. While Ricky could never care enough to hold a crown, he did act with respect to all of his connections and treated them all accordingly, allowing just a few a taste of his generosity and kinship in the form of sharing his weed and his liquor at the cost of loyalty and aid when the time came and he needed them. A good chunk of the guys he currently led down his family's private elevator were on the soccer team, much like Bash Belmonte, Ricky's typical crew. They were his teammates, sure, but they had also proven to be some of his most trust-worthy acquaintances. And Ricky learned from the best; you had to treat each and every ally right for them to treat you right. And after a first week of school and witnessing the climax of cataclysmic relationship destruction via social media, Ricky liked knowing what he had to look forward to and what he might need to...help along.

Pulling out his iPhone X, Ricky decided to add to his Instagram story once more, grinning at the immersive screen as he exclaimed, "Hey, D! Thought we'd bring the party to you." A chorus of exclamations served as a greeting to both Denzell and to the world at large, and Ricky chuckled as he noted the amount of views he recieved damn near immediately. Shrugging at the camera in a blase fashion, an almost euphoric sort of glee from the cannabis strain he was currently indulging in, he added playfully, "Hope you're ready for us." Someone howled once they got in the lobby, but all the doorman did was glance up at them before going back to his computer screen. Ricky only smirked before sharing the addition to his story and exiting out so that he could sent a quick text to his favorite little queenie.

To: Queen S
dis mean mi fave 3lw r back?

From the dismissive nature Sienna had taken up after two months of Iris' disappearance - though Ricky was wondering if her dismissive antics was truly due to that or something else - and the fact that Iris herself had yet to post anything about her girls since her supposed return when she had once been the most active in doing so, Ricky was more than sure the girls weren't on speaking terms just yet. He just wanted to mess with her as was their relationship. He liked antagonizing her, liked knowing that out of so many people in their world, he was one of the ones he got under her skin the most. Sienna responded as only queens did and she never truly lashed out like other simpletons he fucked with just to fuck with, but it was still an entertaining experience. Shaking his head at his own musing, Ricky slid his phone back into his pocket and took a long hit from his joint, sour and sweet of the berry melting in their soothing heat on his tongue as the guys loaded up into his limo. Just before entering, though, Ricky spotted Bash and clapped him on the back. "Bash, my man," he greeted. "Don't tell me you're gonna be holdin' out tonight. What coach doesn't know won't hurt him."

"Should I feel some type of way," Sienna began, inquiringly, as she lay back on her bed, wrapped loosely in a silk blush robe that just barely hid the full view of her nude underwear and bra, phone in hand, "because your friend asked me to be nice? As if I'm not nice most of the time?" Anyone who didn't know Sienna like her friends did would immediately attempt to placate her, to assure her that of course she was a very nice person and that Denzel was being dramatic. Camille was not just anyone; she was one of the most important ones and considering the way the light danced in Sienna's hazel eyes, the way mirth brightened them and lifted the corners of her mouth in amusement, Camille wouldn't hesitate to call her on her bullshit.

It should come to the surprise of no one that the two of them would be preparing for the first party of the year together. The summer had been long and while Sienna would not say that it had been lonely without Camille at her side, it had been a new experience for her. For the both of them, to some extent. However, the second that Camille text her that she was outside of Sienna's home, Sienna had immediately let her up, made their plans, and then they had been off - a shopping trip neither of them truly needed considering the amount of clothes in their wardrobe, dinner at Petrarca where the scaloppine di vitello had been to die for and wine Sienna had forsaken two days of her medication for so as not to suspiciously go without drinking, and eventually back to Sienna's to shower and change. Thick, dark hair fanning out beneath her head as she watched Denzel's video from a few minutes ago play out without the sound, Sienna grinned and turned her head in Camille's direction. The taller girl tended to her own appearance there while Sienna lazed about, not exactly in a rush lest she look like she was pressed for yet another 'end of the summer extravaganza'. "I mean, I'm a bitch, sure," she continued. "But only, like, ninety-five percent of the time, right?"

Cam bit her lip to contain a laugh from spilling out in reaction to Sienna's playful dramatics. If she had let the laugh escape, she probably would have stabbed herself directly in the eye with the mascara she was currently applying. A black eye would certainly get attention at Denzel's yacht party, but it was hardly the look Cam was going for. Anyways, if there are any girls at Spence who don't need help to get attention, it is Cam and Sienna. The latter of which is Cam's best friend since childhood, whom she has been sorely missing all summer. Sure, the surfing in Australia this summer was exciting enough to keep her mind off of it for the most part, but without a doubt Cam would have preferred more Sienna in her Summer. Finishing her second coat of mascara, Cam spun around to face Sienna. "If anything, you should feel some type of way that your male counterpart thinks being nicer will make the party better. Maybe he's afraid if you're too glacial it'll sink his step-dad's yacht a la Titanic," Cam stood up from the stool she had been sitting on and walks over to Sienna, only to fall next to her in bed.

"Don't be so harsh on yourself! Only 90% of the time. And anyway, I think you're an angel. Less guardian, more Victoria's Secret," Cam added the last part while adjusting her position to throw her legs over Sienna's stomach. The casualness with which she does this is indicative of how long they have been friends- not many others would use the school's Queen Bee, and an Arnault, as a footrest. Cam isn't like many others. If she were, she and Sienna would never have become as close as they are. If Sienna wanted to feel affronted for becoming Camille's footrest, she couldn't. She was too busy pouting, scoffing at being considered a bitch only ninety percent of the time, though the seriousness of that affront could be questioned since her mouth didn't seem to know how not to smile. "Ummm, excuse you, I'm taking ninety-five and above only, ma'am," she insisted passionately. "Anything less and I'm clearly not doing my job right." Chuckling to herself, Sienna brought her phone back up to her face to see as she typed a cheeky response.

To: D
no promises

Her arm and phone dropping back down onto the furs beneath them, Sienna hummed to herself thoughtfully before speaking again. "Besides, I'd be more worried if the boat doesn't almost sink. You know the party was lame if two accidents and a fight doesn't happen." While Sienna typically sniffed her nose at the drunken violence that usually ensued at any party anyone has ever thrown, it was the fact of life. Whether someone was at Constance, Dalton, or Spence, there was no event hosted by their generation that didn't include one fight. "You're no one unless you're talked about," was a lesson Sienna had learned from countless older socialites who had schemed their way into their lifestyle, and it applied to events as well. If it wasn't talked about - if something huge didn't occur to gain media attention of some kind - then it wasn't worthy. And despite any reservations Sienna still had about Denzel's leadership, she did not seek his failure.

"Although I will admit, that doesn't exactly look like a fantasy bra. Please tell me you are wearing white to justify such boring underwear?" Cam is a big believer in fun underwear, whether that means sexy lacy bras or underwear with a picture of Einstein on the ass. Nude underwear just strikes her as so. . .blah. It made Sienna roll her eyes. Swatting one of her best friend's long legs, Sienna laughed at the abhorrence she could see on Camille's face at her underwear. "And what would you have me wear even though we both know no one but me is taking this off tonight, O Supreme Lingerie Extraordinaire?" Cam tapped her chin in mock thought, "Given your dothraki-esque comments, my first instinct is to say a leather bra. But I think that's a little too savage." She swung her legs off the bed and pushed herself up to a standing position. There was plenty of room for her to pace around dramatically as she considered the options.

Sienna snorted at Camille's supposed kindness, mockingly deadpanning, "How kind of you. I wasn't exactly prepared to play Mother of Dragons today, anyway." Leaning up so that she braced herself on her elbows, Sienna watched, tickled. "I'm thinking something a midnight blue. And who cares if no one else sees it- the point is that you know you're looking good. One of my cardinal rules is to always wear underwear that makes me smile." By that point, Cam was already over by Sienna's dresser, looking through the underwear drawer. She found something along the lines of what she was thinking of, blue with a black lace, and tossed it such that it hit Sienna in the face. "You can also wear something over it if you want, but that's up to you," the girl adds, referring to Sienna's state of undress.

She possessed a number of specially-crafted underthings, some more understated - such as the one she currently wore - than others. Sienna didn't particularly feel the need to dress up under her clothes for the evening, especially not now. She knew that she looked good regardless and God forbid it, but if something were to happen and Sienna had to take off her clothes, she was more than certain that the majority of her male classmates would confirm that she didn't need any lace or leather embellishments to hold their attention. But it made Camille happy and even though Sienna squawked gracelessly at having a bra slap her in the face, her friend's pleasure was more important at the moment. "How classy," she sniped without any real heat, holding the underwear that had landed on her flat stomach between her fingers. "Though I'm pretty sure I'll leave the exhibitionist kink to you, babe."

Cam gave Sienna a look that the girl by now will find very familiar. It is almost convincingly a glare, but something crinkles at the edges of her eyes that give away the playfulness behind the scowl. Her mouth still quirks at the corner, hinting at the hidden smile behind her half-heartedly pursed lips. "And I'll leave the ice kink to you, sweetheart," She returned back before her face immediately gave way to the softness that had been trying to slip through before. Once they leave for the party, and indeed once they have arrived, the two of them will become different people in the eyes of others. Some will look admiringly, others might behind closed doors whisper "bitch, slut, ice queen, plastic," and other such things. Here, however, safe in the room that they played in together so often as children, Cam and Sienna were just teenagers laughing and having a good time. It's a nice break.

Sienna's grin remained on her face as she sat up fully to take her phone and the new bra and panties set into the bathroom with her to change. She was at the door when she received Ricky's text and it didn't give her as much of a pause as it would have months ago, but her smile lessened to a degree as she entered the spacious, pristine bathroom so that she could go near the shower stall to change. No matter how close they were, Sienna didn't change her underwear in front of just anyone, not even Camille. In the process of taking the straps off of the newer bra, she casually decided to insert Iris into the conversation. "Speaking of audacious blondes, have you spoken to your friend? Did she tell you if she was coming tonight?" Whether Iris came or not was not going to ruin Sienna's evening, but she knew that she herself had done nothing but regard Iris' existence - when asked about her - with ice. She wouldn't hold it against Camille if she didn't do the same.

While Sienna slipped away to change, Cam checked her phone to see a message from her other childhood best friend, this one from a family a little less pristine than that of Sienna's, which brought out a snort. While it hadn't been her exact intention to be fashionably late, Cam had to admit that she's rarely exactly on time. That would require her to be far more anxious about other people than she is. Cam is only on time when she needs to be, and otherwise tends to roll in a few minutes late. Never quite so late that it raises too many eyebrows, mind you. Just shy from being excessively late but not close enough to punctual that nobody notices: this is the gray area in which Cam tends to fall.

We may happen to be late and happen to be fashionable, but I promise the two things won't be directly connected. ;-)

As the text was sent off, Sienna's voice called out from the bathroom to touch on a subject that seemed to be on the tip of everyone's minds: Iris is back. Cam rolled her eyes at Sienna referring to the blonde as your friend, as though they hadn't been a trio. Still, the question was a good one. Cam knew that Iris was back in town, but truth be told she hadn't heard anything yet from the girl who used to be one of her closest friends. This stung a bit. "No, I haven't, but if she is at the party I'm going to talk to her," Cam had no reservations about admitting to this. Typically, she is no more forgiving than Sienna, but Iris was one of her good friends and thus is one of the select few, like Christian and Sienna, who are worth receiving the benefit of the doubt. They were perhaps the only three that she would afford second chances to. Sienna, of course, warranted even a third, but has never needed to use any get out of jail free cards with Cam. Sienna only hummed noncommittally, not even loud enough for Cam to have known whether or not she actually responded. She quickly changed out of one set of underwear and into the next, eyeing her phone's lock screen, leaving Ricky on read for a moment.

"Shit happens. I want to see what she has to say about it," Cam added, checking her phone again and made a face at Rick's video. "Speaking of shit, looks like Ricky and his goons are heading over now. Maybe if we beat them there we can convince Denzel to set sail and they'll have to swim if they want to join the party." Despite the solemnity that Ricky had just brought, Cam's words made Sienna's grin return and she picked unlocked her phone once more to send out a response to Ricky. Satisfied, she began wrestling her hair into something decent, her lithe, delicately curved form moving until she stood in the doorway of the bathroom. "A couple pounds of shit floating in the Hudson River...sounds like a regular old Tuesday," she commented dryly. "Let's do this. I need a Cosmo to enjoy this shit show."

To: Ricky

As she was more nervous than anything she watched as a man came to her. He just came in and he started talking to her? Why? She looked at Christian gently. "I am adjusting... I really don't know." She watched as he kissed her cheek then swung an arm over her shoulder.

He then spoke about parties like this and she was unaware of really what to say. She then spoke about a King Bee as they walked over to a man. She looked at him but stayed quiet as Christian spoke with him. She just stayed quiet looking at him gently. It hit her he was the gentleman from the video she seen on Instagram.

Watching as more people came in she just closely looked at everyone. Making sure to keep her breathing quiet but she was nervous and if the room was silent... her heartbeat could be heard. It was beating loudly. She was used to being at home and not dealing with people much. This was a different and strange thing.

Denzel's phone chimed inside of his pocket as he waited a little while before checking it. He was currently attending to some guests that had come early and offered them refreshments along with drinks while they waited for everyone else to arrive. He dismissed himself from the group before he then took his phone out of his pocket and seen that Christian sent him a text. Just as he was about to respond to the message, Christian was standing right in front of him with his arm wrapped around Moonflower.

"Is this guy bothering you?" Denzel asked towards Moonflower, his eyes gazed upon her before they shifted towards Christian with a chuckle. "Yeah but Queenie has arrived yet and you know how that is. Jeremy probably won't come because he hasn't texted me back yet and we all know Sienna's little sidekick, Cam, is more than likely coming with her." He commented with a shrug of his shoulders. He glanced down at his cell phone and seen that Sienna had shot him a text back. Denzel sighed heavily at her response and did not bother to text her back because he did not want to provoke her or anything.

He placed his phone into his pocket then eyed Christian for the moment. "I think I do need to be a little tipsy right about now." Denzel said as he motioned with his fingers for Christian along with Moonflower to follow him to the table where the drinks were and the bartender. "Tequila shots?" He questioned towards both Moonflower and Christian right about now as the bartender went ahead and sat three shot glasses before them while twirling the tequila bottle in his hand.

"Oh, dude, Ricky's coming and he's not coming alone either." Denzel went ahead nodded for the bartender to pour him a shot but still waited for Moonflower's and Christian's response. He downed his shot then slammed his shot glass down on the countertop then looked at Christian. "He better not wreck this yacht or I am throwing him overboard." Denzel joked while leaning against the countertop now.

Truth be told, Jem originally had doubts about attending Denzel's yacht party. The doubts were ultimately futile, because the young man had serious FOMO about pretty much anything that involves people he found to be cool or interesting or even just a little bit influential. Still, Denzel was the stepson of his stepdad's biggest political rival, and if there was one thing that Jem tended to be over cautious about, it was pissing off his step-dad. Not that the guy would ever really do anything bad, this caution doesn't come from a fear of punishment or anything like that. Jem simply was afraid of disappointing anyone, but most especially of disappointing Anderson Quill, wealthy New York Socialite and Politician, and the man who plucked Jem and his mom out of Birmingham and dropped them in the glamorous world of the Upper East Side.

His mind mostly made up, the young man had stopped with brief hesitation to sit at a diner not far from the docks where Denzel and the early birds of the party no doubt were. Jem was eating a grilled cheese at a speed which would cause a lesser man to choke, but that hadn't seemed to phase him in the slightest. Jem was always a fast eater and a big eater, ever since childhood. He glanced down at his phone when the text from Denzel pops up on his screen, but elected to wait until he had finished eating and could wipe the grease off of his fingers before responding to it. Just receiving the text is enough to cement that he would be at the party, although he would certainly avoid cameras and the like just in case some wealthy kid's instagram picture made it to some trashy tabloid or blog and found its way back to his stepdad.

This same patience was thrown out the window as soon as a different, more feminine name pinged onto his screen. Sienna Arnault. Jem nearly choked on his cheese burger with a hard swallow washed down by mere drops of what water he had left, and without concern for getting his phone screen dirty immediately picked up the phone to read the text and quickly respond.

To: Sienna
I'm actually on my way right now! I'll see u there :)

As soon as the text was sent, Jem regretted adding a smiley face and an exclamation point. Sienna probably thinks I'm a huge dork now. What guys use smiley faces? I should have just run into her and pretended I don't check my phone. What? Jump to answer at the sight of your name? Why would I do that? Jesus, despite concerns about seeming overeager or lame, Jem has already dropped cash on the table and high-tailed it out of the diner with a napkin in hand wiping off crumbs. In his speed it turned out that Jem was closer to the docks than expected, and he arrived in little to no time at all. As soon as he saw Denzel, the memory of Denzel's text flashes across his mind and he grimaces at his forgetfulness.

"Hey! Sorry I didn't respond to your text, I was eating. Figured I'd better fill up on food before drinking, eh?" Jeremy approached the collected group with a smile, still brushing his hands off against his jeans despite them by now being clean.

"What's up? Your counterpart not here yet? Figured you guys were hosting as a duo or something," Jem says, trying to be as casual about it as he can. "Oh! Hey, you're the new girl, right?"
