So begins...
Jazz's Story

Jazz sat in the courtyard while it was still sunny and picked up a book. It was a nice day to go reading and she was fed up of being inside. No one had given her any clues as to the information she wanted and she was frustrated because of it. So, instead she picked up her book and concentrated on reading.
Jazz frowned as the book left her hands and was shocked to see Ethan standing there, not sure whether he looked angry or not at her.
"Chat?" She feigned innocence and shrugged. "No idea. What was it about?" She made her eyes all big and round, a small smile on her face, trying to add to her innocence though failing. She couldn't lie even if she tried. She was as guilty as sin, knowing what he was talking about.
"Care to fill me in?"

Jazz stared at Ethan, not sure what to say. "You're okay with it?" She asked, the words slipped from her mouth, showing her surprise before she could stop it. She thought he was going to shout out at her for going and giving her father such a stupid idea. "Shane'll be fine. You're his best friend. He'll just be glad that an Ilenian prince doesn't come to marry me."
Jazz just sat there speechless for a moment. Was he really saying that? All she could do was smile. As soon as the words sunk in, she stood and immediately hugged him. "Thank you, Ethan! You don't know how amazing it is to hear those words. I can't wait to tell Flora." She grinned, letting him go. She had no idea that the could be possibly doubt in Ethan, she had no reason to even doubt anything when her life was full of lies and deception.
"I'm happy." She grinned, hugging him a seond time in excitement. "Shane and my dad will be so happy. I just know it. And I knew you'd be okay with it when you heard it, though I was hoping to speak to you first about it." A total lie. "We should do something... You know, to celebrate. Throw a party or something. Anyway, have you found anything more about Ilena and their princess?"
Jazz nodded her head, excited over everything that was happening. It was amazing. She really had to speak to Flora about all of this. Her and Ethan would marry and everything would be perfect. This was better than anything she'd ever imagined. "Thanks, Ethan. You're the best." She smiled. "So, have you got somewhere to be right now?"
"Well, I guess now that we're getting married, we need to hang out more or something. This would be an excellent reason to take me out into Ayia." Jazz got the rediculous notion in her head. She really had no idea of anything. Her father and brother easily only let her see what they wanted her to see.
Jazz rolled her eyes. Surely she could convince him, right? "Why not? My father and Shane refues to let me out because it's too dangerous. Surely knowing that you're with me will settle their fears." She sighed. "I hate feeling like I'm trapped in here. Please take me out to see Ayia!"
Jazz sighed, wondering what she could do to convince Ethan. "Fine. I'll talk to my dad but I know he'll say no." She sighed. "I want to go out and explore places though. I'm sure with the right amount of protection it would be safe for me." She complained, having her first mini tantrum over the fact as she took the book she'd been reading before Ethan had showed up and sat back down on the bench.
"Name me one thing here that I haven't done before." Jazz simply stated, knowing that she was being difficult.
Jazz thought about it for a minute before nodding. "Riding. I want to take the horses out." She grinned. "Fancy going for a ride? We could discuss more about the Ilenian princess and any theories we have."
"Well, I'm kinda worried about Shane. He hasn't found a girl yet. I was thinking of setting him and Flora up. Want to help me?"
Jazz looked at Ethan for a second as if she were debating on whether Ethan had a point before she shrugged. "I'll still try. What's the worst that can happen anyway?" She grinned before standing and starting to walk towards the castle, expecting Ethan to follow her.
The setting changes from Ayian Palace to Ayia
Jazz moved around in her room, looking at her clothing. She was now dressed in the typical plain flannel clothing of peasants. A male peasant to be precise. This was probably a bad idea, probably a very bad idea. But her father and brother wouldn't let her out of the Palace, and Ethan wouldn't either. This was going to be her only chance to explore. Hopefully, the guards wouldn't take much notice of a 'worker' leaving the kingdom.
She heard Flora's voice and frowned. This is exactly what she didn't need. She smiled at Flora, pretending nothing was wrong for a minute. "Thanks. Ethan's great about it all." She told her friend, doing up her laces of her boots. "I'm not doing anything, just going out exploring." She grinned.
"I'm not going into the gardens. I'm going into Ayia. This is my disguise. I'm gunna go see what all the fuss is about. And don't stop me, Flora. I'm not going to listen to sense. I want to get out of here and see how dangerous things are for myself. No one will even know I'm gone. They ask, say I'm taking a nap." With that, Jazz moved for the door.
"Nothing you can say or do will stop me." She told Flora. "No one will find out and if they do then I'll suffer the consequences. Just tell everyone that last time you saw me I was taking a nap, okay? Now I have to go."
"I'll be back before you know it." Jazz grinned before disappearing off. It wasn't long later that she was at the gates, the guards paying no attention to her because she was just some tatty worker. She slipped through the gates into what she called 'freedom' and headed off into Ayia.
Jazz frowned as she moved deeper into Ayia. She'd not once saw something glamourous like her Palace. She'd seen a few wooden shacks, a few abandoned and crumpled buildings, what looked like starving children, and some empty stall type places. Maybe she was heading out of Ayia and into another unknown place. Now she wished she'd invited Flora along.
Jazz frowned at the unfriendly person she'd bumped into. "I'm sorry..." She forgot to mask her voice into something more masculine. "I... I... was just looking for the Ayian market. Am I going the right way?" Her words and accent showed that she wasn't just any old person wandering the streets. One could even conclude that she was royalty from her voice and way with words.
