Jazz's Story

Jazz shrunk back, thinking that the woman was about to attack, so was surprised when all she did was help her look better in the loose fitted clothes. "Thanks..." Jazz mumbled until she realised what the woman had done. "Wait, no. I want to look like a boy right now..." She sighed.
"Please don't tell anyone you've seen me. I just want to explore the Ayian market, that's all." She told the woman. "Can you help me find it?"

"I'm not in trouble..." Jazz replied probably a little too quickly. "I just don't want certain people knowing I'm here. And what strife are you talking about? I'm not from around here." She explained.
But as the woman mentioned the Ilenian market, Jazz' thoughts turned to what it would be like to enter Ilena.

Jazz turned and started to follow though she stopped in her tracks when she realised what the woman was saying. "Wait, no. Surely you have the wrong King... I've heard good things about Ayia." She lied, trying to figure out why someone would say something like that about her father.
Jazz was speechless and hurt and without warning she lost her temper, not thinking about what she was doing before she snapped at the woman. "I am the Ayian princess! That is not how my father would treat a kingdom! He is a good man. A good man!" She repeated. "Don't you dare spread rumors like that!" She scolded the woman.
Jazz stood there completely shocked. The stubborn girl that she was wanted to run after the woman and shout some more, but she didn't. Jazz was too curious for her own good and she wanted to see the area while she had the chance. It wouldn't be long before she'd probably have to head back to the Palace if she didn't want to be caught. And she wanted answers.
Jazz thought she'd followed the woman's directions to the market. But she'd found no market so far. Sighing, she turned around and started the same road back. Nothing. Where was the market? All she'd seen was a bunch of broken and worn down things. This was getting stupid and frustrating. And Jazz was thinking now that she might be more than a little lost.
Jazz had finally found a large group of people that appeared to be milling around things and she approached quickly, thinking she had the right place. It was a marketplace but a rather disappointing marketplace. After asking a few people, she realised that this was the only Ayian marketplace. There was nothing of good quality here.
"They're wrong about my dad. There is some good in Ayia. I will find it."

Jazz looked up, trying to find a jewelry stall. Maybe she could still find something nice. It looked like these people needed some money anyway. Just as she looked around, she thought she caught sight of Ethan. Oh God... No... She would be in the bad books if he saw her out here. She might be in a disguise, but surely he'd recognise her. Frowning, she watched him for a moment before turning the other way, deciding it was time to leave.
Jazz frowned as she bumped into someone. "Sorry." She said, again in her feminine voice not thinking that there would be people looking for her. Ethan, maybe, but no one else. She looked back towards Ethan to see where he was in comparison to her just to see him old his thumb down. He was looking for her. She knew it. And at that moment she realised someone else was too.
Knowning that, she quickly increased her speed, not bothering to look to see who he was trying to communicate with. It was time to get back to the palace and pretend she'd never left.

Great, she'd spoken to the companion that Ethan had brought with him. She knew as soon as the man wanted her to stop. Well, that wasn't happening. As soon as he'd asked her to stop, she'd increased her fast pace to a run. Of course she knew that she wasn't going to outrun them, but with a head start maybe she could find somewhere to hide, or make it back to the castle. It was a long shot, but worth the try.
Jazz had no idea where she was going. She was just running for the nearest exit now. She couldn't see behind her, or look around for Ethan to judge how far she was from them both. If she did, it would distract her and probably get her caught. All she could do was run for the street ahead of her and hope to cut down into one of the alley's on her left. As soon as she made it to the exit, she turned down onto the first side street she could find, hoping to take as many twists and turns as possible to lose Ethan and his companion. Never in a million years would she have thought she'd be running away from Ethan.
"Ethan!" Jazz cried out as soon as her feet left the ground and she heard his words. "Put me down right now!" She ordered, struggling to get herself out of his grip.
