On a routine mission deep into enemy lines a Infinity class war ship the Poseidon was engaged by three Car Class Covenant frigates Receiving loads of enemy chatter.The UNSC ship that received the following transmission

They were finally able to escape with minor damage to the hull when a CCS class Battle cruiser arrived.
It shot their engines nearly destroying the reaction core used to move the ship. The Poseidon crash landed on the flood world below as the Covenant landed farther away than expected outside observation cameras spotted new forms of life believed to be part of the flood.
They named them as they saw them.
