His Patronus, surprisingly enough, is that of Tiger, and while he could never discern the connection behind the Patronus and himself as a person, it does make for a rather fearsome display.

Fondly referred to as a big slobbering oaf by Kael, it isn’t hard to imagine how the two of them became such good companions, both of them are lethargic, and posses little care about the world happening around them, but there are known to be protective, and brave souls, this quality helped the two bond, and there are no plans on separation anytime either. Layton is a huge dog, and is constantly slobbering, and it can be surprisingly well behaved for it’s size. It tends to walks around Hogwarts without a care, but will always beckon to his masters call, or sometimes his growls.
Personality:
Kael is the sort of person people usually get the wrong opinion about before they actually get the chance to know him. Outwardly, he displays a lackadaisical, mellow, easygoing attitude. His manner of speech is slow and deliberate, his voice is even a bit singsongy, and most people guess he's a little spaced out, some might even go so far as to say he's slow. But appearances are always deceiving, Kael is much like any person, gentle, generally nice, but mixed with some type of earthy, sensitive vibration. Friends often see him as insightful, spiritual, and just plain easy to talk to. A backside to this curious personality, is the distance he puts between herself and others, and the mystery behind his wandering mind. He is often caught meditation, sleeping, or being just plain lazy, and he is easily distracted by even the littlest things. His intelligence often springs up behind little facts, or mathematical equations, he's never worried about someone assuming that he was of low intelligence, believing so for her would prove worse than an incorrect assumption.
Kael has little care and willpower to change things about herself and others, and is typically caught saying things like "Let it be'. Often times, he can have a fatalistic attitude about things, and he has a tendency to ignore the negative aspects of life no matter how much this may hurt him, which contributes to his sensitive state of mind. In essence, Kael is talkative, helpful, polite, and respectful, but suffers from not being able to face some truths. There is a rather peculiar side to the boy, that being is overly protective behavior of those he places in high regards, it isn't exactly clear whether or not this protective nurturing behavior comes from his 'Alpha Wolf' tendencies, but it one of the main reasons why he finds it hard to get closer to people, mainly because this behavior comes off as possessive, and a bit motherly.
Short Biography:
if they was anything Kael could tell you about his past, it is that he cannot recall the first ten years of life, so much had passed him by during that time, that when he tries to least recall even a smidgen of it, he has the greatest difficulty of summing it up, what he can remember is left in strange, but fond experiences, and emotions. He went to school of course, but he was never fully dedicated to things he could not understand. After that, there is only a brazen awareness that he was accepted by a group of the homeless, when he ran away from somewhere far and forlorn, at the age of 14, of course, at that point he somehow found a way to control his animalistic urging, by roaming through the woods when the time came, and then allowing his aggression to pour out. After every so transformation, he'd return to the group no questions asked. His life was spent on the streets where he felt he belonged the most because of his desire for freedom. Kael seemed built for the homeless life, but wasn't at all keen on living it alone, being with those people who became akin to him as a family would to anyone else, helped him survive, and made him fiercely protective, and a dangerous fighter when push came to shove, though he was never caught in the mix with law enforcement, considering the fact that his capabilities far exceeded that of the normal human. During his time spent with this urban nomadic group, he found a true friend in the most unlikely thing, a Dog. Layton later became the one object that became most important in his life, he would never leave his side which Kael knew, and they seemed to go everywhere together, a loyalty so strong that even at the age of 16 when he was prepared to leave this small group, Layton was prepared to leave with him, even with the threat of hunger, and homelessness.
Going on alone at that time provided much more introspection, he quickly surmised that besides his transformations, there was also a mysteriously untapped power within him, he could sometimes lift objects without the need of his appendages, set things on fire without even knowing it, it was strange events such as these that made him feel even more isolated from Muggles. There was a time where he couldn't stand being around Muggles because of how society labeled ruffians like him, he was desperately lost and without direction, and sooner or later found himself couped up in some abandoned building, unable to seek a reason to continue living. 19, without friends, family, a place to call home, hardly anything to eat on a daily basis. It was only on one particularly stormy night, in this abandoned building, that a soggy letter seemed to land near him. A place that would offer him something something greater than the bottomless pit that was homelessness, he was immediately drawn towards joining, and took what little he had along with Layton to the train station specified. You ask him, and he'll tell you that he'd never regret the decision to attend Hogwarts despite his rather advanced age.
