Hades (a.k.a. Fernando Waters)'s Story

I see a new guy. He introduces himself and winks. I roll my eyes.
"My name is Samantha," I say.
I explain the situation and he seems relieved that we can't use our powers. He explains that he isn't good at using his powers. He often compliments me randomly and flirts with me. I try to ignore him. I run my fingers through my hair and I am getting a little shy. Hades makes a weird and almost angry face at Matthew.
"Maybe we should start eating!" I say randomly.

Jon looked at the young boy Hades yelling at him Jon wasn't angry just annoyed without giving Hades a change to reacted Jon grabs the angry boy by the throat and lifts him off the ground "MAGIC!! You fool this mountain doesn't block out elemental powers this whole thing is to teach you to use your actual element. Not that bullshit excuse your school teaches you!" Without even casting and spells the fire behind Jon flared up to the point where anyone within a mile radius can see it. Jon pointed to it "That is fueled by emotion boy not by a spell or magic but by pure power. Any halfwit moron can cast a spell and create fire but a true elemental can take that persons fire and ignore the laws of control and take over that persons fire. That is why a elemental is so valuable we can ignore the restrictions of magic. Elemental have the power to literally create,destroy and change the world. This dependence on using magic to control the elements is beneath a elemental and if you can't learn to take a lesson from what I told you then I might as well snap your neck right now. Now go and think on this information I gave you for what I just told you gives you a unfair advantage." Jon tossed the boy away from him the fire behind him went back to its normal state.

I heard hades and jon screaming something at each other like "doesnt block elemental powers" and "me and adena are fire" and then i saw a huge fire come up from the side of the mountain. i look at that and realize something: i can still use fire! just to try something, i found adead tree and put my hand on it. the first thhing i saw was everything going blurry. then, the entire tree burst into white hot flame!

i quicly made it smaller, and oddly enough, the places where the fire just was seemed completely unharmed. i saw the other 3 come running down without hades. samantha seems about to kill me.

"oops..."

Hades and Whitebane are yelling at each other. I can feel the vibrations in the earth and I can tell some of what they are saying. Whitebane is about to kill Hades! I can't between them, there is a wall of fire. Suddenly I see more fire and this time, it is a tree. I run down the side of the mountain and I see Adena's guilty face. I see a quiet "oops" I feel a strange surge of power I don't know why. I make a huge hole underneath of Adena and she falls into a deep hole. I suddenly realize that I hurt somebody when I hear Adena's cries for help. I hurt somebody, this is exactly what I don't want to do. I try to get Adena out, but I can't. It seems that my powers only work when I have a powerful emotion. I can't bring the ground level up to get Adena out.
"Matthew, I need you to make me have a powerful emotion, any emotion!" I say

Jon saw the fire in the young pupil he smiled to himself Even though he is born Hex he will still make me and this country proud. yes Whitebane knew after all he fought and hunted down many Hex agents before find a Hex within a sea of people was his job his reason for living. Jon has been thinking to himself how he could train this young man and decided how he would do it. Unlike his other students Jon will have to take this Hades boy and train him to become a weapon master this way the boy has a way to survive in a war against magic. The real question is how can he do this without making Hades the target of his peers.

I just blush a bit and i say "I'm not sure if that will help," Suddenly Adena is back up. Hades is running towards me and he says things about true power being fueled by emotions. That makes sense, that must be why all this is happening. No matter what, the earth is in my blood. I feel a connection to the earth, if an ant dies I will know.
"Hades, you are a hex. Don't let that discourage you. You can never go back, just accept the mage in you." I say quietly.

I feel like Samantha is scared of me. Whenever i come near her and shes looking at me she walks away. Im stating to wonder if kissing her was a bad thing. Today i saw Sam and Hades talking, I went over to say hi but Hades and samantha said they have to go. Im starting to be suspicious around Hades.

This new boy Matthew is starting to get on my nerves! He just goes up to Samantha and kisses her to create a powerful emotion! I mean, what kind of hot shot does this gut think he is. I don't even know what Samantha thinks, but it's easy to tell Hades is mad. He obviosly likes Samantha. Matthew looks a lot like Samantha, so for I moment I felt like I knew him. It's strange. I'm kind of glad the two boys in this group are falling for Samantha and not me. I like boys as friends, but anything like kissing, that's just gross! The first and last boy I kissed got a little shaken up. I think when I finally managed to bring him back down to the ground he had sprained a wrist. He broke up with me the next day. Since then, there has been no romance for me. If one kiss can shake me up like that, who knows what a relationship could do to me? I sometimes wonder if I would like a boy, if I could risk it. But I know I can't. I quickly shake my mind from boys, because Matthew is staring to come towards me, and I can't think straight around him. He looks at me and asks very quickly and nervously, "Do you think Samantha likes me?" He sounds so hopeful, I don't say anything but "I don't know." Matthew looks a little nervous, but slightly relieved.
"Does Hades like Samantha" He asks, and even though I know the answer, I don't won't to say. Matthew keeps pushing though, so I finally say "Yeah, I think he does. Also, if you like Samantha, you might not want to be so obnoxious about it." I stomp away, wondering what has gotten into me around Matthew.

I WILL KILL SAMANTHA!!!

i refuse to spend one more second around her. im going to the other side of the mountain and STAYING THERE. what kind of goddess does she think she is, dropping me almost out the side of the earth? and both Hades and Matthew are falling for her. URGH. it was a frigging DEAD TREE!!! i didnt even hurt it! did she think to check it? OF COURSE NOT!!! how would she like to be dropped into a hole that makes it feel like you are both blind and deaf? oh, she wouldnt care, that stuck up prat of an earth elemental. i hope they all get eaten by cannibals. except maybe posidonia. shes okayish. why did i even accept this spot in the stupid "elite squad". why are we fighting this war? i think she sprained my ankle, and shes the only one with healing powers. i think i know how to splint it, but i'm not sure. hang on, what if i do something worse to her? like see whether or not other elementals are flammable? oh, but hades and matthew will both stick up for her, stupid snob that she is. i wish that i could just get out of this blasted force field. even the normal academy is better than this. compared to this, id rather be in detention for the rest of my life! how did we even get picked for this? its all idiots who cant control their magic! AND theres a random hex floating around. i still have their necklace, whoever they are. good luck to anything that I happen to...

why is this so confusing? we're supposed to be trying to survive, not worrying about who likes who and fighting over silly things! Adena has stormed off after being trapped in a hole and yelling a lot. i don't blame her. She thinks i like samantha and would back her up. matthew might like her, but just thinking about liking samantha makes me gag. i mean, we're friends. that's all. i go after adena. I need to tell her the truth. she is still steaming over samantha. "Adena" i say. she whips around. "You! she yells."you're just here to-" i cut her off. you're wrong, adena! i don't like samantha and i never will. but" i swallow. "I think i'm a hex. And you have my necklace. And i need it back."
"

"oh. here." im in SHOCK. Hades? he seems perfectly normal. sort of. not really. i guess i should have figured that out sooner. he cant control his magic, he has serious problems doing anything with his element... but im SO glad he doesnt have a crush on that idiot samantha. shes so... perfect. all the teachers like her, shes a straight A student, she has so many friends, she can do magic without even thinking. and she's just annoying. shes like a doll. if i knew the only reason that i would get out of thathole would be from someone kissing samatha, i would have just stayed there. FOREVER. i wish that i could use ALL the elements. then i wouldnt have to ask her for help.

"hades? i think that samantha sprained my ankle. i totally wish that i didnt have to do this, but could you ask her to give me a painkiller? i refuse to talk to her, but i promise not to hurt her. for now. but the second she uses anything on me that would injure me or anyone else, i swear that i will set fire to her." i hope he didnt notice that unless i want it to, it doesnt hurt. that would kind of make my threat not work so well. he just gives me a funny look and agrees. i hope this works. i dont think i'll be able to walk for much longer without hopping, and that would be freaking embarrasing.

I still cannot believe Samantha hurt Adena. The two boys are still padding on after her. I listen to the wind and hear Adena talking to Hades. He denies liking Samantha. Come on! It's sooooo obvious he's in love with her! Then I hear Hades telling Adena he's a Hex and needs a necklace she has back. Adena is now begging Hades to get her a painkiller. I think I might get one for her myself. I march straight up to Samantha and say, "Since you have such a 'special' connection with the Earth, you've probably forgotten what it means to be human! Give me a painkiller I can take to Adena because you've freaking sprained her ankle! You know, of you need such a 'powerful' emotion as a boy kissing you to make you do what's right, why don't you just crawl into a cave with that cat and stay there, humming little healing songs. Hurt the Earth. Bah! You did something much worse. Animals die in the course of life, and I feel bad about damaging the creature, but to be outright mean to your teamate! Your more loyal to dirt than to friends." Samantha looks shocked and a little hurt by my words, and I want her to be. Then she says, "It was on accident. Besides, she was hurting a tree...." she trailed of looking at my venemous look.
"Well, she didn't hurt the tree! You know that just as well as I. The wind told me the tree was fine. It felt a rush of warmth, making it think that it was being hurt, when really it wasn't! If you hadn't been dropping people into holes, you might've noticed that the tree didn't have a single mark on it. Just give me the pain killer and leave Adena alone. She is twice the elemental you are because she is nice, strong, and doesn't need annoying little spells to make her life complete. If your mother knew..." I trailed of because Samantha was looking hopefully at me. She says "My mother? How is she?" I swallow, wondering what mess I've gotten myself into. Ms.Elizabeth is sick, so what can I say to Samantha?

I'm sick of Samanth. She's just so...perfect. When I last saw her she was fun and funny, less hard core, and more appreciative of a good time. Then again, that was a long time ago... And what does Ms.Snob mean a disorder? The only disorder she has is over studying. You know what, I'm willing to accept that Hades doesn't like Sam, but Matthew sure does. I'm positive I need to get away. I just take one scornful glance at Sam, and run into the woods. Usually I'm loyal, but I make few friends, and I don't know these wierdos. It's been 3 days, so only four to go until I'm free from here and meet that Jon Whiebane everyone here is always talking about. I take a deep breath. The ground feels treacherous to me so I try something I've only done a few times. I take a deep breath, and imagine I have wings. Long, beautiful wings, but I'm still human. Then I fly away, and land on a cloud. I open my eyes, and there I am, on the very thunderhead I'd hoped to be. Just to annoy Sam, I fly my cloud to directly over her head, where she's just sitting, thinking. I see her rub her legs... and the the world around me is a whirls of lightning and rain. My element, my life, my safety zone. The weather. Hades and Adena should be okay, but sam, she'll be soaked. And while I know she'll be soaking up water like a tree, eventually, I know there will be too much. Only the will I pull away. Sam doesn't know it's me because I'm not on the ground. Sure she can send an earthquake, but I can send a storm.

Posidonia just acts like she is amazing at everything. The wind this, the wind that. Okay, just kill me already. Don't torture me more than you already have. There is no reason to treat me like I am a serial killer. Of course Posidonia wants to make me suffer, so she sends a storm. I wonder what's going on in her head.
"Hahaha, I bet this will make Samantha cry, I can't wait to see this! Maybe she'll bleed to death after that!"
I know it's Posidonia, who else? Let's see who wants me dead and can control clouds? I don't care how much water lands on me, I am not doing anything. I'm just waiting for death, there are lots of choices. Starvation, drowning in rainwater, being killed by Hades, Posidonia, or Adena, and being killed by some creature out here in the woods. Ughh, this disorder is the reason that I am suicidal. I wish I could just make it stop. The only way to make it stop is death. I can't stop thinking about death. I start crying, I bet Posidonia is laughing and is going to tell Adena so that she can watch. I look at my gash, the pain makes me look for some more herbs.

I am about to answer Adena. "Sorry.....I guess I'm carried away." I would say more, but I hear a noise and go investigate. Samantha is crying in a pool of rainwater raining only on her. Matthew would never hurt anyone like that. I imagine Posidonia, smug and pleased, sitting on some cloud causing all this. Gosh!! I wonder where Matthew is. He's the only one who isn't totally hate-able out of us. Samantha threw Adena in a hole for no reason, Posidonia rains on Samantha and Flies around knowing more about people than they know themselves, and Adena has a temper to control. If I can convince Matthew not to like that awful know-it-all, we could be friends. He's the only one I'd trust. I find him alone in the woods. "Hello," I say. I explain how everyone else will just hurt us in the infighting, and it would be best if we teamed up and stayed out of harms way. He says that makes sense.

I see all the craziness happening around me. Of course everybody has gone crazy. I don't understand what the problem with Samantha is, I could hear that she has a disorder all the way from here. She was yelling that, do people not get it? I can tell that nobody cares. I am the only one who isn't at all in this. Hades explains what is going on. That makes sense. I see Samantha in a puddle crying, I am tired of this Posidonia chick. She isn't even pretty. Wait, I am a water elemental. I take control of the water droplets in the cloud and I move them away, causing Posidonia to fall into her own puddle and get mud on herself. I lose control and the cloud disappears. Damn! Magic is so difficult! Hades is behind me and I swear I heard him giggle a little bit, but when I turned around he stopped and put a serious face on.

I see Sam. and Adena fighting. AGAIN. Then I remember. With all this chaos, no one has bothered to keep track of the days except me. But today is our last day! we'll get to leave at 3:00 today!! I tell everyone and they seem overjoyed. No one really enjoyed this little "camping trip". I want to do something that would impress Whitebane and prove that my magic may be suck-y but I'm still good for something. I think. Of course! I can (try) to get them to stop fighting! If I could I might actually get to go on a real mission. I start with flattery. So you're fire-proof?" I say to Samantha. "That's so cool! You don't ever have to worry about being burned! Can you do any of the other skills?" Then I remember: everyone thinks I like Samantha. So if I only flatter her they will think that even more. I go find Posidonia. I tell her about the skills and ask her if she can do any of them. I know that if an air elemental is really powerful they can shapeshift, and also levatate things. I am going to tell her that I thought she seemed so powerful she might be able to.

Hades is asking me about my powers. "I can levitate, but I'm still working on the shape-shifting. I've never really learned anything, I'm self-taught, so I don't know much." I lower my voice. "Please don't tell sam. I still feel guilty about earlier, and if she knows how weak I really am, she might take advantage of me. Hopefully we'll leave before she can try anything."

I am so close to performing necromancy. I still can't though. I tried to walk on a cloud when I was 4. It worked, I had so much fun controlling weather and Posidonia was sad because she couldn't yet. I was never able to control a cloud since then. I can shape-shift pretty well, I am still not perfect. Posidonia looks like she is telling Hades a secret of some sort. I hear just one word. "weak" Is she saying that I am weak? How about a bit of friendly competition?
"Hey, Posidonia and Hades! How about a magic contest, we will see who can perform the most spells. Just no deadly spells," I say.
We did this all the time in magic school. I would always win, I want to see if Posidonia is as good as she says she is.

Magic duel! We always did these back at school. I successfully managed to avoid them. Technically, actually... I always avoided the duels because they were fighting and I was no good at that. Not good at magic at all actually. But that could be the advantage here. I can do more "Spells" than anyone! They are all fizzle-y and and have no use but they are technically still "spells". "Bring it on," I say. How about a little winning streak to prove I'm good for something?
