Earth, in the Future

Hades is getting on the horse. It takes him a while, he doesn't seem to understand the concept of horseback riding. They go on their horses and I teleport towards them every so often. Whitebane says that we are going to a place more open so that we can show our powers. I have no idea where he is taking us.

looks like someone was trying to get to my dorm recently. I wonder who it was, since all of my friends knew i was in detention for the last week. wait, there's something on the ground. it looks like a necklace, but i'm not sure. i take it inside and do a scan for potential threats. seems to be hex affiliated, but otherwise harmless. i wonder whose it is...

Jon looked at the two he looked at the girl she depended on magic too much which would do her poorly when she deals with some Hex technology along with some ancient grounds. He looked at the boy who seemed to struggle with both magic and any other form of combat. He led them far away it was fairly quick since Jon had Hades horse stay behind his the whole time. He took them to some plains that laid just below a couple of mountains he got off his horse and walked a distance away from the young elementals he stood his ground. He looked at them both "Attack me give me every thing you have don't hold back anything is permitted." he had the necessary skills to hold them off but this was to see how far they have gotten and to check which one needs more attention. Jon drew his sword and drove it into the ground next to him.

Hades concentrated hard and gave it everything he had. It wasn't exactly a specific spell, but it was a jet of, well, he didn't know exactly. It did cause Whitebane to stumble though. Then he thought of something. He couldn't do good elemental magic, but usually things like teleporting and levitating were very hard, but came out right. If he could teleport behind Whitebane, and grab his sword....

Jon was a little surprise at the jet of air that hit him he saw the boy look at his sword and he smiled. He wanted to see the boy try to take his sword. What would happens is the sword would reject the boy and use magic to launch the boy away from the sword. Jon gave the presence of retaliation and he opened up his palms and lightning surrounded his hands he sent the bolt of lightning at the boy making sure the blast would be close enough to scare the boy. It was hard for Jon to purposely miss a target.

Whitebane demands that we attack him. Hades tries to attack him with um, something. I teleport around and create a mountain under Whitebane. I send some vines to attack Whitebane. These are the simple combat spells that we learn in school. They don't really teach much combat in elemental school, I don't know why.

Jon responded quickly his lightning turned into flames he used the flames and turned them into snakes that consumed the vines. Jon spun around and sent a massive jet of air to propel the young girl away he then ran at the girl even in armor he ran at a fast speed he was at her and he reached to grab her with his inbred speed he developed in his years. He had to admit that they both had potential for greatness if pushed correctly. He first had to beat the dependence on their magic out of them. Has he moved to grab her he used his powers to control different vines to move towards her so if she dodges his grab she will be trapped by the vines.

I see the vines come after me. Easy, a very simple spell. It is used to kill plants. I use that spell and kill the vines. I quickly send some lightning at Whitebane. This is not a simple spell, I just learned it recently. I miss the first time. I try again. It actually hits Whitebane. Finally!

I see Whitebane chasing Samantha. It looks like a real attack and I wonder if I should try to help. I grab onto the vines. That was not a smart move. With Whitebane controlling them they grow very quickly. I'm tangled. I can hardly do anything. I bite down on the vine. Blue liquid pours out of it. It's discusting and probably poison. I kick the vines, stain my arms, but nothing works. I want to show Whitebane my "Full Potential". I concentrate hard. I know the spell I am attempting is hard, but mostly it comes from your attitude and energy, not abilities. I think it'll work for me. I concentrate very hard. I try to channel my energy like they taught me. Suddenly I open my mouth and breathe out, hard. But instead of air, it's fire. I am almost giddy. I did the spell! It worked! I breathed fire!!!!

Jon felt the lightning hit him it stung like being slapped hard he didn't want to use magic because they didn't have the resistance to not be harmed by it. He wanted to give them difficulty not to kill them. Doing that would be easy he called for more vines that swarmed both the girl and the boy. The vines were different this time simple vine killing spells wouldn't work for them but using fire or cutting them would still affect them the same. Jon stopped moving and decided to let them come to him but the vines he summoned came by the hoards unstoppable and it seemed to never end.

Hades seems to be having a difficult time doing something. He blows and breathes fire. That isn't a difficult spell, at least not to me. Whitebane traps Hades and me in more vines. I know these purple vines anywhere, these vines don't die. They can be destroyed though. I throw a fire ball at the vines and they blow up. I didn't think this part through. I fall straight down and hit the ground. Luckily, mages have fast healing.

Jon was amused at this but he has seen enough he uses his magic to draw back the vines he walks over to his sword and puts it back in its place. He then walks to his horse and gets on the beast and starts to ride towards the mountain he decided they needed his old training like him they depended on magic to much. He decided that they will go to his old training area. There he learned to not depend on magic and became both stronger and more skilled with his casting and other magic as well as learning to use his strength in battle.

Wonderful. I just got a letter saying "congratulations. You have been given ONE MORE CHANCE to be in the elite something-or-other. If you screw up, you will be kicked out of school and will be a fugitive in as many countrys as humanly/magically possible. We suggest that you do your best not to get kicked out."

Crap.

They apparently do not remember the last two times they attempted to put me in this program. The first time i attempted to escape and the second time i blew up the instructor. Sort of. Do they have any idea how bad a plan this is? Yes, im one of the most powerful elementals for the last 20 years, but i think theyve gone officially insane.

The school board sent a guard to show me how to get to the special training site. it was a while away, so i got a description of the place and did a teleportation spell to get there. The two other kids there were Samantha and Hades. they were training with possibly the most formidable person in the school. he seems to be a teacher/ex-warrior/something or other. (well, one thing's for sure: i'm not worried about blowing up this teacher...) they don't seem to be using much magic. They all look up as though they weren't expecting me.

"why are you here?" Hades asks in mild astonishment.

"for the same reason as you are. training."

I am amazed. I thought that Adena would be the last person to accept special training without a fight. I follow Whitebane up the mountain where we are going to learn other things besides magic. The mountain is a nice place, and has woods all around. I am noticing all of this when I hear Whitebane's sharp voice: You all need to learn to learn other strength besides magic. You, gesturing at me, Samantha, and Adena. "You are to survive here until I come get you. There is a magic block on you so you won't try anything, and there is a force field around the base of the mountain. I am stunned. This early in training?!

Jon looked to the new apprentice who remind him of himself at her age he wanted to put more work on her. He would have learned to use all the elements earlier if he would have been pushed harder. But he made a promise to himself to give all of his students equal training. He was still young being only eighteen if he was older by two years he would have been accepted as the high councilman but for now he will simply be one of the commander's of the special forces. He left them at the mountain "I should warn you that there are cannibals,and trolls in this mountain so be prepared to protect yourself against them. Without your magic. I remember when I was left here my other classmates were to dependent on magic for battle. They died quickly my advice is to dig a hole and hide it well for a camp or stay together and depend on each other." With that he drew his sword and chopped Hades horses head off in one swing. "Food." he rode off and away from his students he had a funny feeling they will all survive they looked smart and resourceful.

I am scared. I've only just gotten to this place, which is weird. Most elementals start when they were 5, but I've been dodging the tests. One of the people I'd been trading with for food tricked me and brought me here. Here, wherever here is. An elemental camp was a place people were constantly trying to escape from. I have housed a few refugees and taught them how to survive. Many were caught by hex. I had to take a test, and it was horrible. I'd been hoping that somehow, someway, I could trick them into thinking I wasn't an elemental and they would let me go home. Home, where my father was probably crying, missing me to death. Home, where he barely made any mony and I had to suport the two of us. Home, where my mother and little sister had died from the plague..... It's too much! All I want to do curl up into a ball and die. During the test they told me I was a air elemental, which I already knew. It's how I've survived for survived so long. I'm afraid I'll be thrown in with the kindegarteners because I don't know any spells. I was told to await a letter that would tell me where to go, and I begin to pace back and forth, back and forth. Finally a scroll appears on my bed. It says something I don't quite understand. The letter says:
Posidonia,
You have been recognized as a powerful air elemental (Well, Duh!I think) and will be joining the elite squad due to your prowess. We know you have assisted many elementals to escape, and promise you, if you run, you will suffer. Pack your things A guard will be here to pick you up in few minutes.

If I'm on the elit squad, I won't get away. I remember there was this on girl named Adena who I help run away a few times. She talked to me all about being in the elite squad. As far as I know, she was trying to head into the forest. I hope she survived. I haven't even upacked my belongings, so all I have to do is wait. I sniff, and smell the disgusting scent of magic. using a tiny bit of wind I push the smell away a little bit. A man comes in, and shows me through a portal. When I get out, I'm on a mountain, blinking sunlight from my eyes. I see three people. Adena is one of them. I also see a boy I don't know, and.... crap! I see a girl named Samantha who is from my village. I also remember immediatly. A few years after she left, the plague hit. I feel a surge of pain. Samantha's mom is really sick.

Jon was having thoughts of his own that fact that the council is sending this many elementalist and trouble makers or plain bad ones irked him greatly. The council will have to wait they were a month away and Jon didn't like using magic for easy access. He decided to wait at the mountain base until the week has passed.

((Posidonia, you can't do anything that affects someone so much. The part about helping Adena escape is fine, because it doesn't really affect her a lot. But you can't just go saying someone's mom dies without getting their premission. Please edit the post.))

New girl in training. I tell her about what we have to do, survive in the woods. I tell her about digging a hole. I am about to ask Samantha to do it with her earth magic when I remember that we don't have it any more. I'm almost happy. My magic was almost nothing. Whenever I tried it I always felt embarrassed. Everyone else was better than me. Now I can finally fit in. I think I'm an average person strength and smartness-wise. "Okay guys," I say, talking to Samantha, Adena, and Posidonia. "We have to work together if we want to survive. And you guys need to think about what you can do without magic." I look around, seeing how this comes across. I've never been a leader before. Not that I am. I just think we need to get started before night. Who knows what could be waiting for the cover of darkness to come get us.

Hades seems ready to stop using magic, Duh! He can't even use his magic to begin with. Luckily, I am an earth elemental, so the earth is in my blood. I can eat a horse if it means that I will survive this crazy training camp. I grab a stick from a tree and place it on the ground.
"We need to make a fire, Whitebane gave us our first meal. We just need to cook it." I say while trying to get everybody's spirits up.
I grab some more sticks. I might be dependent on magic, but it's only because I am amazing at it. I look around and everybody seems to be confused and scared. I am too, but we need to survive. Posidonia is trying to use her air magic. She is dependent on magic. From what I can tell, she uses her air magic all day every day. I guess we really do need to change. I look at Posidonia again, she really reminds me of my mother. I probably just miss her and my little sister. I look again, now she looks exactly like my mother. I turn away, just looking at Posidonia makes me cry. I try to perform the memory spell to remember my mother. I doesn't work. Of course it doesn't work! I try to remember with my own memory, I try to remember my house and my little sister as a baby. I suddenly remember something. That picture of my mother when she was younger. Posidonia! No, that's impossible. There is no time traveling spell. There is no time traveling spell, yet! Maybe there is in the future. Stop Samantha, you're being stupid. Why would Posidonia be my mom? She is an air elemental. My mom is a normal mage. Well, if Posidonia really is your mom, then Hades could be a Hex. And then, reality strikes. I'm in the woods trying to survive and I am thinking about crazy things like Posidonia being my mom and Hades being a hex. There are flaws in both of those things, so there is no real proof. For now, Posidonia is just an air elemental who looks exactly like my mom and Hades is just a "fire" elemental who can't control his magic.

Jon went hunting once he set up camp he set up a cooking spit and it was crafted amazingly he was the sole survivor of his group because his father was a hunter and surviving was in his blood. Looking at his handy work he smiled using fire he make a giant fire that could be seen by his students. He roasted his game and waited for his food to cook he sat next to a warm fire he had his flint and steel he just liked using fire for fun.

We go searching for wood for the fire. Samantha seems to be figuring out something complicated in her head, then she shakes herself like she was daydreaming. Everyone seems to be confused and scared. I'm not confused, but I am very scared. Everyone else had powerful magic, whereas I had nothing. I look at the horse's head and my stomach churns. Do I have to eat this? Back home, we never had to eat this kind of stuff It wasn't good, and it was mechanical, but---WAIT! What am I thinking? Back home?? What? Mechanical food? Am I a HEX??? I shake my head. It doesn't matter. I'll be a dead hex if we don't start moving. There is something about this forest, it makes everyone come to crazy conclusions about their life. It's probably not true. What are the chances??

I keep having hazy things return to my mind from when I was younger. All the people coming to me, begging for me to find them food. I try to use some air magic to get rid of the memories, but then I remember; I can't. I see Samantha looking at me strangly. What did I do wrong? I don't see anything wrong with me. Maybe I look wierd, trying to do magic. I must look really dependent on my magic. It's just, I keep feeling a prickling running through my skin, and I want to blow the sensation away. The whole mountain seems to be telling me I don't belong. I hear something loud crunching through the trees. I don't know what it is, but it sounds heavy. It howls loudly. I say to Hades "What's that noise?" He just looks at me funny and says "I don't hear anything." I look at the others. They're just staring at me now like I've lost my mind. I hear an even louder howl, and flinch. The others are listening intently, like they've only just heard the noise. A soft breeze blows against my face. A sudden picture runs through my head, and I know the wind just told me something. A big brown thing, with ears like a Caracal cat... I know we have to run. I tell the others what I saw, and they look at me strangly. Then I realize: I'm not supposed to be able to use magic. Before I even know what is happening, a monster errupts through the trees, and comes hurtling towards Hades and Adena. It's huge and monstrous and has huge fangs. I don't know what it is, but it sure looks viciouse. I look at Samantha, and see that in this panic, she's trying to use magic again. Grabbing a pointy stick I charge at the monster and poke it in the eye. Hades rolls away just in time to avoid getting crushed. Adena grabs anther stick and pokes the monster's other eye out. The Cat-like creature howls in pain and stumbles away, leaving me wondering how I knew what was coming.

I hear loud footsteps and I just ignore it. I am an earth elemental, so I can feel anything that is happening in the earth, even if it is just a little vibration. I hear a howl. Posidonia is freaking out over the noise. Hades doesn't hear the noise, of course not. He isn't a air or earth elemental. Earth is the rarest element and air is the second rarest, so Posidonia and I have "special" powers that can be bad. If Posidonia can hear it, it isn't just a vibration in the earth. I hear a louder howl and I listen, I try to identify the animal that it is coming from. I don't know.
"I see a huge, brown creature with ears like a Caracal cat!!" yells Posidonia.
I bet the "wind" told her that. I don't go around saying that the earth told me that Hades is a hex. Sometimes you could say that the earth "tells" me things, but it isn't very often. Suddenly, a monster comes out of the trees and tries to attack Hades and Adena. It is scary, but I can sense that it is hurt. Posidonia doesn't know that because she isn't an earth elemental, maybe the "wind" will tell her. I try to use magic to heal it, but it doesn't work. Posidonia pokes the creature's eye out.
"Stop!" I yell.
Adena pokes the other eye out. The creature leaves even more hurt than it already was.
"That poor creature didn't mean any harm. It was just in a lot of pain," I say
I have a connection with plants and animals as I am an earth elemental. I grab some herbs and I put them in a jar. These are Szarnav plants, they have amazing pain killing properties. These were the herbs that the creature was trying to get to and eat. These might be useful in the future, though. This forest might have amazing and useful herbs if we just search.
